RE: [Asterisk-Users] ISDN Card Recommendation
http://www.avm.de/en/Produkte/aktive_Controller/B1_PCI/index.js.html >From the technical details page: Broad range of D-channel protocols for international use All major international, European and national D-channel protocols are available for the B1 PCI v4.0: Europe: Euro-ISDN (E-DSS1), 1TR6 (deprecated German protocol). USA: National ISDN 1 (NI-1), 5ESS Custom (AT&T switches), DMS100 (NorTel) The B1 is thus ready for international applications. That should allay any uncertainties about it's fitness for use in the USA. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Rob Fugina Sent: Friday, August 27, 2004 6:54 AM To: Justin Huff Cc: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users] ISDN Card Recommendation On Thu, 26 Aug 2004 13:46:17 -0700, Justin Huff <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: ... > > Where do the Fritz cards fit in, then? > I believe that the AVM Fritz! RE: [Asterisk-Users] ISDN Card Recommendation
The AVM B1 has firmware which will allow it to work in Euro or USA ISDN mode. As for the interface I'm sure you just need some sort of SBUS/S0 to U Interface connector. Or buy a B1 that's meant for the US market. It's a great card. Little expensive new though. www.avm.de Kimble. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Rob Fugina Sent: Friday, August 27, 2004 1:35 AM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users] ISDN Card Recommendation The ISDN cards that are so popular with Asterisk have an S/T interface, which is fine where they're used -- Europe. Ok, let me try to make sure I've got this straight, then... The Eicon Diva Server BRI cards will work fine in the US, with the addition of an NT1 device, but they're pricey. To convert a U to S/T, you need an NT1. I just picked up one on ebay for less than $20 shipped. E1 is for ISDN PRI's, not BRI's.
