[Asterisk-Users] OT: google groups Asterisk-test and now Asterisk-Users marked as spam on Gmail
Starting around Apr 14th Gmail has started marking all messages for Asterisk-Users as spam. Prior to that on google groups someone created a asterisk-test group (seperate from this group). Is this perhaps related? I believe it all has happened within a week time frame. Gmail is a great service but if this is what's going to happen I will quit using gmail. I'm giving a shot out to see any other gmail users out there having this problem. My Asterisk-Dev seems to be unaffected. Who's having similiar issues? My Asterisk-Dev seems to be unaffected. you may be able to make an exclusion, I dont know. I do know this: the day before it was posted here that google groups is archiving this list I got 2 messages, one on each of two other lists I am on saying google groups now archives those lists. These were from google. The week following it being posted that there is a google group for this list people on this list (myself specifically) were critical of google for doing this (at that time, becuase of the two other lists the day before it appeared to be google sponsored). This critisism included the one-way nature of the group. They get content from here but do not return any. Now the list is marked as spam, when it is clear that you must register and go through a confirmation process. This is not a spam list of any kind. Interesting string of coincidences. -- Trixter http://www.0xdecafbad.com UK +44 870 340 4605 Germany +49 801 777 555 3402 US +1 360 207 0479 or +1 516 881 8487 FreeWorldDialup: 635378 signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users

Yep. Thought it was just my kids messing around with my gmail settings, but I guess not. It's been happening here too. :-/ On 4/15/05, Sig Lange [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Starting around Apr 14th Gmail has started marking all messages for Asterisk-Users as spam. Re: [Asterisk-Users] OT: google groups Asterisk-test and now Asterisk-Users marked as spam on Gmail
Right here. I find this quite upsetting. You might think that after telling Gmail that a hundred messages are not spam, let alone having a filter to apply a label to all messages with [Asterisk-Users], would be enough. Apparently not. I'm also not aware (correct me if I'm wrong) of any method to tame the spam filter for my particular mailbox, but although Gmail is grand, the spam filter sure doesn't seem to be a learning one. It would also appear that Asterisk-Bis, Asterisk-BSD, and Asterisk-Security are unaffected. -Andy On 4/15/05, Sig Lange [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Starting around Apr 14th Gmail has started marking all messages for Asterisk-Users as spam. Re: [Asterisk-Users] OT: google groups Asterisk-test and now Asterisk-Users marked as spam on Gmail
I am also seeing the same problem on asterisk-users. I reported the problem to gmail, but got some generic response saying that they are looking into it. It might help if other gmail users also report this bug. Did you notice anything change in the headers from the list server than would cause them to do this, or is it just gmail doing bonkers? - Ben On 4/15/05, Sig Lange [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Starting around Apr 14th Gmail has started marking all messages for Asterisk-Users as spam. Re: [Asterisk-Users] OT: google groups Asterisk-test and now Asterisk-Users marked as spam on Gmail
I think part of the reason for some sites treating postings as spam is the dns tables for digium are not totally correct. Believe someone posted comments about that a couple of weeks ago relative to reverse and forward addresses (and authoritative NS). Example: dig lists.digium.com = 69.16.138.164 dig -x 69.16.138.164 = digium-69-16-138-164.phx1.puregig.net I am also seeing the same problem on asterisk-users.
