It might be a temporary workaround to help confirm where the problem is, but you need a better solution for the real world. again we have no idea what your apache runs as but any professional unix admin would know how to add apache children and /etc/asterisk in the same user group and then assign group permissions but not everyone is a professional unix admin so we just went with the 777. regards Vikram ___ --Bandwidth and Colocation provided by Easynews.com -- Asterisk-Users mailing list To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users

Here are some suggestions: 1.) Put together a installation manual, it kept searching the website, only to find very minimal instructions. 2.) Is it really necessary to have a pop up box every time an option is selected? I know it's a trial. I expect it to stop functioning after the trial period, no need to be annoying as well. 3.) I use many includes in my configurations, but the only area that I can get at them is in the Call Routing. I need them everywhere (dial plan, iax, sip, voicemail, conferences, etc). 4.) The section under sounds is nice, it would even be better if you could play those sounds by clicking on them. 5.) Clicking on an application's description should give the full text of the application usage. Issues I've run into: 1.) You have the voicemail section listed twice. Once under Users and again under Services. 2.) When trying to get the demo key installed via the web interface, it kept telling me that it was not correct. I only found the information in the FAQ about manually creating the file. 3.) I'm constantly getting the error, Druid doesn't have read access to message DB All in all, it's not bad. I've been looking for an application that doesn't require you to destroy your current setup to make it fit. This does that. I'll look forward to testing further releases. Requires to be run on the Asterisk server via Apache. On a production machine, I try to keep the services to a minimal. 2). I take issue with a script that does a chmod 777 on my Asterisk installation. This is bad. 3). Zend is not OSS. The demo on your website looks very nice, but because of these issues, I won't be able to evaluate your software. Doug ___ --Bandwidth and Colocation provided by Easynews.com -- Asterisk-Users mailing list To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users Hi Doug, 1. No it dosent you can nfs mount your /etc/asterisk to another box and run Apache there. Also the Live java console dosent need apache it can be run as an app too on a windows box , it uses the manager interface. I've run DRUID on a boa + php platform on an embedded box. 2. Again if you are not running any services or adding any users to your Asterisk box then it dosent really matter. but if that worries you then you can run your webserver in a group which has access to /etc/asterisk and it would work that way too. Or you could always run Asterisk as nobody infact being so security conscious you should run Asterisk as nobody. 3. We'll we have an eAcclerator option thats OSS. We switched to Zend only in this version after 90% of our customers said that they didnt want to run eAcclerator and would rather use Zend. Also we are not really OSS its a commercial product. We do have other stuff which we've contributed to OSS in a big way checkout http://www.voiceroute.net/vikram I hope you can reconsider your decision now.
