Well, I formated the system installed slackware 10.2 compiled a new
kernel with 2.4.31, modprobe usb-uhci, install zaptel, no problem,
modprobe ztdummy, modprobe zaptel. Got this in lsmod
ztdummy 1656 0 (unused)
zaptel219520 14 [ztdummy]
usb-uhci 21936 0 [ztdummy]
Then I installed asterisk, enable musiconhold on an extension. Dialed
in, still the same problem, but this time the music was playing for some
more seconds, and stops, starts etc. Doing a moh reload then music will
play right away, but stops up after 5 - 10 sec. The strange part is that
streaming work fine now, using exten 606,1,MP3Player(webaddress), but
not moh with mpg123 to a local mp3 file!
Doing a zttest I get this results.
--- Results after 23 passes ---
Best: 99.975586 -- Worst: 99.975586 -- Average: 99.975586
Much better results then what I got on 2.6.14
Results after 49 passes ---
Best: 99.963379 -- Worst: 99.926758 -- Average: 99.948681
Does anyone know why I got this type of results?

Fredrik Jensen

Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Re: ztdummy / timer problem with kernel 2.6.14
In article [EMAIL PROTECTED]
srv02.netpower.lan, [EMAIL PROTECTED] says...
I just install a fresh installation off Fedora core 4 and did a yum
update on the system before I downloaded asterisk 1.2.1. First I
compiled zaptel with make clean, make linux26,
You don't need make linux26 anymore, you can use make.
strange/irritating for me that this doesn't work. Do I have need to by
a
digium card to get the timer problem work correctly with asterisk?
I don't know how to solve your problem, but with Kernel 2.6 (it has
timing mehanism) you don't need Digium hardver to make MOH work.
Hope this helps.
