DST for 7905/7912 are set inside the lddefault/gkdefault - or the
individual config file (ldMAC / gkMAC), but can't be set in advance like
7940/7960. DST is not the reason here...

Also prior to the crash the phones were loosing registration every hour on
the hour like clockwork and it was just these three. I dont know if it might
just be a flaw in the hardware on these phones or if they were just used to
hard but its a little strange that these three would just crash while the
other two are still up and running.

This phone can be used
with the SCCP firmware and it does support XML services (you need a cisco
smartnet login to get the firmware.) However, the SCCP drivers available for
asterisk are not as mature (I have lots of random stability problems I can’t
track down,) and don’t have some key features like 3 way calling.

Just a guess. You didn't have the phone restart in the office so it
read the new config. You can have them change the settings via the

be in xml but I can't figure out how exactly it is constructed.

[Asterisk-Users] Cisco 7912 - how to ignore missed calls?

2005-05-27 Thread Mark
When a call comes into our office, it rings multiple Cisco 7912's (in
Asterisk the dial command is just Dial(SIP/101&SIP/102&SIP/103...)

Then when somebody answers the call, all the other phones stop ringing
(of course). The only problem with this is that all the other phones
then display "1 New Missed Call".

Is there any way to disable the missed call message on the screen?

please do start asterisk with safe_asterisk and then look in /tmp for
the coredumpfile. then execute "gdb asterisk coredumpfile"
and after that enter "bt" -> backtrace.

please mail me the output or both asterisk & coredumpfile so that i can

I have gotten the 7940 to work with chan_sccp. I dont have that much
experience with VoIP. I have been assigned checking out Asterisk since Im
the only one at work who know my way around Linux. We have sold different
solutions based on Cisco CallManager, which is quite expensive, and we are
testing out asterisk in our lab to see if it is possible to use in a
production environment. I was not aware of the bugtracker @
lambda-solutions and I have now created an account there and filed a bug
report. We also just got a WiFi Cisco-phone (dont remember the model) and
Im looking forward to testing it when we get an european power supply for
it.

Thanks for the replies!! :)

Not sure if this is what you want:
o enable the call waiting feature
o set the "redirect to VM on no answer" on the phone to "0" == disable
o now, if the phone is in a call, you see a new incoming call
but on "no answer" it will be directed to voicemail via asterisk

At found this at a quick test this morning, I will check it out later
to crosscheck.

btw: you can also disable such function in the "gui", so users cannot change
it!!
 via the tftp configuration.

Better ack and ignore the redirect in chan_sip, and implement vm-on-busy with
asterisk extension logic. This way you can easily manipulate the original
extension number and jump to the right mailbox, and keep acd applications,
that expect busy extensions to be really "busy", happy.

Yes, that's right, only the value for no answer can be changed (set to
high value == disable).

Actually I think of a soultion like changeing the VM app to be canceld when
dialing
"*" and one can enter the vm and pin to access his messages otherwhise just
leave
a message. So I don't need to deal with different VMNo. for one user.
But no glue how to make it ;(

Having exactly the same problem with 7905. In addition it doesn't seem you can
disable (at least on my sip fw release) the redirect-to-vm-on-busy feature.

Whenever the phone has the VM number configured (and people like the
"messages" button, sadly) it sends out "302" messages for the vm number when
it's busy, regardless of any other config setting, which is _very_ bad for
queues and acd.

I had to do a quick modification to chan_sip denying redirects to the (magic
hardcoded) vm number.

Hope for a new release where you can either set the vm, vm-listen separately,
or at least disable the redirect "feature".

[Asterisk-Users] cisco 7912 voicemail/dnd issue

2004-02-03 Thread Swen Veckes
Hi all,

I playing around with some C7912 IP phones (SIP FW).
They work nice with asterisk, but I found the following issue:

o When I configure the voicemail number (8500) to access VM
I can push the "messages" button on the phone to access my VM

o The phone can setup DND and call redirection on NA and BUSY

o MWI is also working fine ;-)

But in this case the call will be transfered to 8500 which doesn't
make sense, as I cannot leave a message there.
Configuring call redirect via asterisk works fine of course.

Any ideas for a solution?? To use the phone funtions??

Yes, it's the "Skinny Client Control Protocol", aka "Skinny" or "SCCP".
There are 2 Asterisk channel drivers supporting this protocol:
- chan_skinny, which comes with asterisk
This one is quite stable but supportsy nearly nothing except placing or
  receiving single calls.
- chan_sccp, from http://theo.me.uk/pages.shtml?page=sccp
This one may crash asterisk if some very odd skinny phone tries to
register. (The 7912 may qualify as "odd", as it's not officially
  supported right now.)
However, it does support some nice features (soft keys, multiple calls
  don't crash *, ...)
Some features like intercom (paging) or speed dials don't seem to be
completely implemented, yet. But the author seems quite responsive to me
and the code is easy to read/update.

Sure, but some development work still has to be done, first.

[Asterisk-Users] Cisco 7912 speed dials

2003-12-20 Thread Ludovic Drolez
Hi !

We have Cisco 7912 phones, and the doc says that I can "create up to four speed
dial buttons on my phone using the Cisco CallManager".
Does anyone knows which protocol is used to configure speed dials (Is it
documented somewhere) ?
Did someone tried to reverse engineer the protocol ?

It would be cool, not having to pay $15000 just for configuring speed dials on
those phones ;-D

Cheers,
