Might you be missing

  requirecalltoken=no

in iax.conf in the 1.8 system for calls originating from the 1.2 system?

Awesome!

root@:~# cat /etc/asterisk/iax.conf | grep requirecalltoken
; By setting 'requirecalltoken=no', call token validation becomes optional for
; that peer/user. By setting 'requirecalltoken=auto', call token validation
; can require it from this peer. So, requirecalltoken is internally set to yes.
; requirecalltoken may only be used in peer/user/friend definitions,
; By default, 'requirecalltoken=yes'.

requirecalltoken=no

Also there was an other issue host=dynamic i set to host=x.x.x.x and it works!

[asterisk-users] IAX2 issue?

2009-06-09 Thread Steve Kennedy
Just founnd a weirdy. My end is Asterisk 1.2.32 using an IAX2 link to
the US.

The IP address of the remote end changed (though in the config file it's
registered as a name i.e. asterisk.remote.end), my system didn't
recognised the IP change, it must be cached once and then the cached
value used for ever.

It's my (limited) understanding that the IAX2 channel driver in Asterisk
1.2 caches any DNS names it resolves, and doesn't bother looking them
back up later.

Fortunately, that problem has been addressed in later versions of
Asterisk. If I remember correctly, Asterisk 1.6.0 and later use the DNS
Manager (see dnsmgr.conf) to periodically re-resolve DNS names.

I get something similar after site power failures - my PBXs sometimes come
up faster than the routers/DNS servers, so can't get the IP address of the
IAX trunks, but they never seem to re-try. An iax2 reload fixes it (or
what the end-users usually do is just power cycle the PBXs )-:

[Asterisk-Users] IAX2 issue with calls transfered between systems.

2006-03-21 Thread Jason Bachman

I have an issue with IAX2 trunking between
two Asterisk systems.

Here is the senerio:
A call comes into SYSTEM_A on any channel, and it is transfered to
SYSTEM_B over IAX.
SYSTEM_B then transfers the call back to SYSTEM_A via IAX.
The problem is that there are now 2 IAX channels open between the two
machines for a call that originated in SYSTEM_A and is now transfered
back to SYSTEM_A.

Is there some sort of magic that IAX can send some sort of singnaling
that the call was transfered back to the originating host, and drop the
channel between the two systems?

Having the multiple channels is unnecessarily consuming bandwidth, and
causing the audio quaility to degrade.

I have tried trunk=yes and notransfer=no in iax.conf.

I am running Asterisk SVN-branch-1.2-r13964M on both machines.

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Jason
