D Tuncy, if you don't mind, can you show me your config files which you are
using to successfully register phones on two servers. I tried various
different things, and once it got registered on two servers, but couldn't
dialout on any. Now it is again back on only one server and I don't remember
changing any proxy setting. I must be doing something wrong which I don't

That all looks fine, though I don't think the ports need quotes...

 You do have

If so, check the debug output from sip set debug on, or, sip set debug

Also, you can log into the phone using telnet to check status and restart
 registration (and many more things)

Thanks for these scripts. Good thing is that now phone has got registered on
two servers.

Now a new weird problem I am having is that it is not loading all the
entries from SIPDefault.cnf. It is loading only proxy related settings and
ignoring the rest.

Also I have 6 lines on this phone, but it doesn't register if I set any
extension on lines 3 and above. It only registers first two lines.

Any idea what could be reason for this to happen?

From my experience it won't register to the second box, only to the first
 one. Why? god knows...

 Hi everyone,

I googled this followed the instructions, but it hasn't work for me yet.

I have universal setting in SIPDefault.cnf and phone specific settings in
SIPXX.cnf. But it doesn't get registered.

I need to register it on two different asterisk boxes. So my
 SIPXX.cnf looks like this:

 phone_label: Zeeshan A Zakaria

 line1_name: 523
 line1_displayname: Zeeshan A Zakaria
 line1_authname: 523
 line1_password: 523
 line1_shortname: x523

 line2_name: 523
 line2_displayname: Zeeshan
 line2_authname: 523
 line2_password: 523
 line2_shortname: x523

 line3_name: 224
 line3_displayname: Zeeshan
 line3_authname: 224
 line3_password: 224
 line3_shortname: x224

SIPDefault.cnf contains default settings along with proxy info like this:

 proxy1_address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
 proxy1_port: 5060

 proxy2_address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
 proxy2_port: 5060

 proxy3_address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
 proxy3_port: 5060

Same settings work fine from Grandstream phone, and X-lite. What am I
missing on this Cisco phone configuration?

That all looks fine, though I don't think the ports need quotes...

 You do have
 proxy_register: 1
 too don't you?

If so, check the debug output from sip set debug on, or, sip set debug
peer 224 to see if it's reaching the server but not authenticating etc...
Also, you can log into the phone using telnet to check status and restart
 registration (and many more things)

That's what he's doing, he's asking someone with better sight to help
him out and tell him what buttons to press! :) I've dialed in the dark
enough times to know you don't need braille on the buttons to find the
3x4 array and use it properly without eyes.

Sorry, Steve, but I had a twinge of 'what if *I* was blind' when you
said that.

Re: [asterisk-users] Need help with Cisco 7960

2008-04-08 Thread Steve Totaro
Mojo thanks for the perspective check, hope this is of help:

Reset the 7940 and 7960 IP Phones to the Factory Default
In order to perform a factory reset of a phone if the password is set,
complete these steps:

* Unplug the power cable from the phone, and then plug in the cable again.

* The phone begins its power up cycle.

* Immediately press and hold # while the Headset, Mute, and Speaker buttons
flash in sequence.

* Release # after the Speaker button is no longer lit.
* The Headset, Mute, and Speaker buttons flash in sequence in order to
indicate that the phone waits for you to enter the key sequence for the
reset.

* Press 123456789*0# within 60 seconds after the Headset, Mute, and Speaker
buttons begin to flash.

* If you repeat a key within the sequence, for example, if you press
1223456789*0#, the sequence is still accepted and the phone resets.
* If you do not complete this key sequence or do not press any keys, after
60 seconds, the Headset, Mute, and Speaker buttons no longer flash, and the
phone continues with its normal startup process. The phone does not reset.
* If you enter an invalid key sequence, the buttons no longer flash, and the
phone continues with its normal startup process. The phone does not reset.
* If you enter this key sequence correctly, the phone displays this prompt:
* Keep network cfg? 1 = yes 2 = no

* In order to maintain the current network configuration settings for the
phone when the phone resets, press 1. In order to reset the network
configuration settings when the phone resets, press 2.

* If you press another key or do not respond to this prompt within 60
seconds, the phone continues with its normal startup process and does not
reset. Otherwise, the phone goes through the factory reset process.

Thanks,
Steve Totaro

[Asterisk-Users] Need help with cisco 7960 call fwd and dial plan

2004-12-23 Thread C F
I have users that use Cisco 7960 with asterisk, if a user sets the
call forward on the phone than asterisk will just go to that extension
priority one. However I want to put in some logic in the Dial Plan
that if the call was either transfered or if it was call fwd (302
moved temporaryly) I should know about it.
Thanks.
