RE: [Asterisk-Users] How do you put someone on hold on a zap channel?

2005-05-19 Thread Tom Rymes
I believe that the phone is expected to implement the hold function, not
Asterisk. If you go to RadioShack (or anywhere else that sells phones)
you can find analog phones that have a hold button.

Ok, this is probably a stupid question, but I can't seem to
find anywhere where it tells how to put someone on hold on a
zap channel. Flash gives me a dialtone and # tells me to enter a new
extension, how can i just put the caller on hold. Pressing #
then hanging up drops the call. Is there a simple way of doing this
without transfering the user to a parking lot?

 Thanks,

 Jon.

Hold on asterisk is not possible But you can park the call. If you have
setup parking extensions in the features.conf the default is 700. You would
flash then 700 it will give you an area where it parked like 701. Then when
your ready to get back to the call just pickup and dial exten 701 and you
got the call back.

Re: [Asterisk-Users] How do you put someone on hold on a zap channel?

2005-05-19 Thread Jon Gabrielson
If I use the hold function on the phone, there is no
music on hold. Ideally, I would like something like ##
to put a person on hold. Is there any way to do this?

Thanks,

Jon.
