Re: [Asterisk-Users] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fax to Email problems
I have a similar issue. But changing that program to tiff2pdf fixed the issue with the pdfs not showing up. now the emails never show up in my mail. I have them going to this email address. Is there anything extra you need to do to get outbound email working with [EMAIL PROTECTED], or is it suppose to work on its own? I looked around and saw that the system was wanting install-pdf run, so I did that. Now I am getting pdfs sent to the email address as desired, but the pdfs are microscopic and blank. Even at 800% magnification, they are only the size of a postage stamp and, blown up larger, they have none of the content in them. I know the actual fax was being received correctly before I ran install-pdf because I can read the fax TIFF picture just fine. Consider using fax2mail (available at www.generationd.com). It's a free add-on to asterisk to email you incoming faxes in PDF/TIFF format. Nice and simple.! Effectively T.37 does that, however what you prolly wanna look at is hylafax to process the emails (perhaps by procmail). From within asterisk how the call gets placed doesnt matter a whole lot, and you do have options but basically what you need is a modem (physical of soft like iaxmodem) and a phone line to transmit (analog or digital bri/e1/t1/j1/etc). If you want the call to go through asterisk you may need slightly more, some way to inject the call into asterisk (FXS port, iaxmodem, whatever, all depending on how you configure the device to receive the faxes by email).
