Hi.Nice topic.I dont think well hear more about what happened to Michael in the waterworks tower. Its a while ago, and people have forgot all about it. I think he would have said something if something important happened.Well, I should listen to season 3 again, because it feels like there are some parts of the story which I dont remember. I remember I got really confused around chapter 25, but I dont remember why. I just felt the whole story changed so much so I found it difficult to follow. Re: Just started on we're alive

Were alive is the only zombi audio drama I know, (darker projects started a zombi series called alive inside, but its very incomplete), though there is a lot of different zombi fiction in other media, films, books etc, such as the Passage series which Ive already mentioned, or the very original I am legend, the book that pretty much single handedly started the genre (it was the book the film night of the living dead was based on), there was even a recent remake with will smith, though that sort of missed the point. Its actually becoming quite a common genre these days. What I admired in were alive is the characterisation and standard of writing in the series, rather than it specifically being zombi orientated, since generally zombi fiction like any other genre can range from extremely good to absolutely horrible!URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/

Re: Just started on we're alive

Well, SLJ, the reason I think the water works are important is pretty simple...Michael gets trapped in there in chapter 8 or 9, cant remember exactly. In chapter 23 he recognises the zombie kidnapping Tanya as Randy, whom weve never heard anything about...Untill chapter 27, where Sean tells CJ that they dont have much water left, and she sends Randy and the others to the water works to fix the problem. In chapter 23 Michael tells us that Randy has long brown hair and a beard... In chapter 35 Saul and Victor sees a zombie fitting that description outside the colony, this time hes got tattoos on his face, though. And! In the latest chapter (37) Michael brings up his arm again, saying that it was nearly broken off...Oh, and I forgot one thing. In chapter 19 when Michael wakes up, Hope tells him that he was talking about a guy named Randy in his sleep. So I think its safe to asume that theres still a
story to be told here. URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147860#p147860

RISC means Reduced Instruction Set Computing, which is a type of processor that uses a limited set of instructions to work. Acorn invented ARM, the Acorn RISC Machine, and although it no longer makes computers (obviously) their technology lives on, as you may no, in most smartphones. ARM is slow, but power-efficient. ARM now is just an intellectual property holder for the technology designs, which are manufactured elsewhere. Im for the Go for the meat before worrying about the sugar approach. Camlorn seems to be for the Go for the meat and the sugar, because you still get the meat approach. Go with whichever approach you think is best for you. You get the compiler from the various places, but I agree with Camlorn that just installing the Platform SDK or Visual Studio Express will just give you what you really need.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147888#p147888

Hi,It is you who will program in either of the languages, so it is completely up to you, however as I (and Sebby) have pointed out earlier, learning C first would save you a lot of problems later on. Especially if it is the very first programming language you learn. C++ is very nice and it has lots of advantages, but they are disadvantages as well (see my previous curse/blessing analogy).I would personally learn C first, simply because it provides a very firm understanding of the basic concepts before delving into the complexities of C++.If you google, you will likely find the official site for the compiler or IDE of your choice. Re: Swamp, zombie fps by Aprone

Hi thereId like to comment some little things:a) The sniper mission is still not working, as we go on to the roof, the loot is respawning but zombies never come. So we get stuck!!! no!b) Can anybody tell me how to install a second sapi voice for Swamp? I read both English and Spanish, but as my voice is an English one, I have really problems to understand the Spanish channel.c) About the truck sitters in the missions, I found something interesting: some days ago I went into a 20 blanckets mission with some other guy. He didnt move, just stayed there in the truck. As I was not leading that mission, I couldnt kick him, so I decided to bring zombies to the truck for them to do the job. Not nice, but that was the only way And surprisingly, the zombies that came chasing me, preferred always me than him, even if we were close
one to each other! Shall I use the sneaking or elusive for that? So maybe another way of getting rid off the sitters would be to use the truck horn, so zombies hear it and come directly to the truck, to hunt whoever is there. If you have a little time to scape, that will make people move their asses across the map and get into the mission. It would be like a lure or hunt command, as explained in the campaigns guide.d) I wanted to report that, when playing Swamp Tide (really fun, great idea Aprone), if I press the letter f and then the key for medkit, this sound is not being played.e) Finally, I would like to remark that I couldnt find any information about puzzles in the game, it would be nice to know if they are active and if so, how to start them, or what are they useful for.Thank you very much for your
  patience!URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147900#p147900

2013-09-09 Thread AudioGames.net Forum — New releases room: mehgcap

Re: Swamp, zombie fps by Aprone

You install Sapi voices by downloading the executable file for a given voice and running it. You cannot switch voices in Swamp, though, so changing from an English to a Spanish voice would be tedious - you would need to open the Windows Control Panel and do it from there. You could set Swamp to use a screen reader for one language, set your default Sapi voice to the other, and switch that way, but thats the only thing I can think of.A truck horn would only work if the person stayed in the truck. Often truck sitters acutally hide somewhere else such as the office or a venting tower. The Swamp Readme file I wrote includes puzzle information. Once it makes it into the game, probably in the next release (I hope), that information will be available. In the meantime, puzzles are only found on Multi3, and then only rarely. Each one is solved differently, and the steps for both escape me at the moment. In general, though, you have to donate them ad certain s
afe zones, then visit certain places on different maps to gain items which you then donate at certain places, and so on until you get the reward at the end. Also, puzzles normally do not stay around if you log out, so if you find a puzzle and want to solve it, you must do so before you close the game. Likewise, you cannot exit in the middle of a puzzle, or the item you gained most recently which must be donated somewhere will be erased from your inventory.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147901#p147901

Re: Anyone ever beat the borg in STFC?

My thoughts exactly. Get all your ships to one of the starbases. All except the Defiant, which should remain under cloak nearby for safety reasons. Then let your armada blast away, including the station. With all those phasers, photons and quantums firing, it should blasted to bits in a move or two. Alternatively, move the Defiant out of range, and have all your other units chain-self-destruct right against the cube. The results are usually...quite interesting.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147902#p147902

The Dark Tower is definitely worth reading. A lot of people complained about the way te series ended but Ill say without giving it away that he ended the series the only way he really could have done and kept it believable given the nature of the beast. I also liked his one true Fantasy novel, The Eyes of the Dragon, which is itself tied in to the Dark Tower universe as are many of Kings books. Another excellent read is The Green Mile, which in a break with the usual Hollywood tradition was made into an impressively faithful film adaptation. I also liked Bag of Bones and Insomnia, the latter of whhich is another Dark Tower tie-in.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147905#p147905

Also, to anyone else who read my Readme, dont worry: HC mode, more tips, Tide, and a few other things that should be in 3.0 (which I gleaned from Tide) are included. Or something like that...Victor tells both Saul and Michael about how the mallers killed Angel, Riley and Burt meet at Angels grave outside the colony (I was kinda surprised that Scratch actually burried him, he must have meant something to her, or maybe it was as a thank for bringing back her brothers body). Burt and Riley decide that Scratch sucks big time and that they want to kill her, what ever Michael or anyone else says. There hasnt been much action in this season yet, but damn, I love it so far. I did get some on 2.8, but unfortunately I kept getting either connection or lost the item. Hi doctor.when this happened I was able to fix it.the game is missing several critical sound files.in the either system or speech folder.anyway the zip for these is athttps://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/140 … 20xtra.zipthe game is supposed to be rewritten but I dont hold much out about that being released any time soon since its not been mentioned lately in the usagames project lists so it must be the bottem thing on the pile of stuff tom has to do.also in that version the romulan wav is named wrongly I forget which wav is named wrongly but you can easily fix that.well when this is rewritten we will probably be using sapi instead of the recorded sounds so we probably wont see the issues though I have always liked live recordings I can see why you would use sapi.its smaller for starts anywayURL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147938#p147938

@locutus, I completely understand what you mean about being credited. And thanks very much for your willingness to support this project. I dont know really. Maybe themes (specific versions for different ships and such) could be separate packages that are all named via the same convensions or something like that? (that is until I figure out how to make a list/gui in lua to choose the theme itself...). But if you want to suggest one as a main one, which would you think would be the best? What is everyones opinion on this? The Doctor.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147937#p147937

Nah, by all means go ahead and use it. Id just appreciate being credited for any sequence of mine that you use, since they arent exactly public domain, even though a number of the sounds in them are. And, it would just be nice to be recognized for the work you do, you know?Im sure I can give you more sounds if you want them. Are you looking to make an Enterprise E specific version? Or Voyager? DS9? At this point Ive got enough sounds to be ship-specific.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147934#p147934

Re: Anyone ever beat the borg in STFC?

The borg no, but I have beaten doomsday a lot. The solution is to just pound it over and over with photons (preferably from a starbase) until it dies. Id recommend using multiple salvos per turn (use the command line for this and launch 2 at a time or something), as it gives you a much higher chance of damaging parts of it, and thus killing it quicker. Doomsday has from about 40-70k shields, though I really dont remember beyond that.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147925#p147925

The second one will never fire, because the first check clears the buffer.Currently, Lua expects getwtitle to be a variable, this is not the case!Your message box just displays the text (wtitle). Hi.Ah sorry about that then, but I still think it should be put in the instructions. maybe after you learn about ships and movement it should tell you how to close the game if you want. The reason I was a little mad was because usually, to close a game youd either use escape, alt f four, or maybe Q, so I thought that youd not put in a closing feature and thought that that was not good.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147946#p147946
