Have you checked the developers own sight for theseto see if theyre available on any other system besides Android? Regarding character choice of gender, well it depends upon how the game is designed as to whether it is actually interesting or not, some of the choiceofgames such as choice of the dragon function basically the same if your male or female, others like choice of zombies change things rather a lot. In some games it might be more helpful to be a fixed gender, for example I didnt like how in Zombie exodus you got no choice about whether to be gay or streight and still got relationships with women even if you were female. I found that a little confusing to say the least especially as I set a female protagonist and I wouldnt want it any other way.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175788#p175788

Re: Time of conflict 2.0 major upgrade!

The only thing thats missing is more detailed information on what each unit type does. The manual doesnt give enough details about the ranges that they can bombard, how far their radars reach and so on.Its worth remembering that this is a long game and it takes hundreds of moves to get your army built up. I often get frustrated with it because it is one game where it really does feel like the computer knows more than you. I think its more that it remembers more than you because a blind player has to check the shapes of the countries and remember where all the cities are. Even if the computer has to learn this like you do, it can retain it in its memory more easily. Also, it does feel like the computer has just the right unit available when it needs it. Still, its quite satisfying when you finally can gain a foothold on the enemys land and start to destroy him.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175789#p175789

Hi Djlex. Just as a suggestion you might considder another topic for your forum. People already have many places to talk about games and muds and new software, here, audeasy, Klango, and so I dont really think another will attract too many visitors. Id personally suggest rather than just setting up an alternative forum, especially one very similar to this one, you considder what people might want a forum for, what other subject people might want to talk about and setup a forum for that. Ive seen people try to do this before, setup another games forum based on this one, and they havent ever managed to get too many visitors, which is a shame. I also was wondering exactly why you wanted a forum in the first place? This isnt intended to be discouraging, I have just seen this same thing happen on at least two previous occasions with prespective game forums.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175790#p175790

I spoke to someone yesterday who have tried to contact a developer for more than a year for a new key for her games, but she never got any reply. So now she is searching for a crack for those games because she wanna play what she has payed for! Re: Swamp, zombie fps by Aprone

Hi Aprone. Its really great to hear that youre working on a new patch for Swamp.I have something, which I hope youll give a thought:It would be nice if there was a way to make totally sure where an other player is on the map. yesterday, I was helping a newbie to get out of the sewers, and the day before that, I helped him to get out of the safe zone on map 1. I constantly had to ask him about his coordinats, use the voice commands to hear where he was or listen for the beeps from his radio, because I couldnt trust the player tracking feature´.It would be so awesome, if you could select a player, and press an other key to track the players coordinats. I think thatll help a lot when trying to guide a newbie or if you in other siturations need to know exactly where an other player is.As you know, I have always had so many crazy suggestions for Swamp. Here is an other suggestion for something which would be interesting to have:A small minigame in one of the houses or rooms on map 1, where players phicically had to be there to play the game. A card game wouldnt fit in the Swamp universe, but it would be cool with a small minigame people could play, if they feel like doing some social stuff other than chatting and missioning.Keep up the good work man. Trust me, I have been there before, and I had to stop playing for very long time before I got my life and my future messed up! Re: the touch experience?

Hi.I agree on post 3. Touch screens are really great for blind folk when it comes to get the visual overview of things. When it comes to typing, keyboards is the way to go. For me, MBraille works great, which is an app which lets you write text in Braille on a multi touch screen. For me, its great to get an overview of the whole screen, like where all icons are placed. For example, if the media controls in an app is at the buttom of the screen, I can just quickly find the play button and press it, because I know where it is. On a phone with keys, depending on the design of the app, you might need to press the arrow keys a lot of times to find what you need. On a touch screen, you can find it much quicker, if you know where the icon is placed on the screen. visually, that makes a huge difference for me.I agree that Im tired of hearing about what phone and tablet is the best, bla bla bla. But why even mention this? the only question was how blind people
find touch screens accessible. So I find all the other comments on who likes apple and who dont not to be relevant at the moment.Jeffb wrote:and if Droid made an accessible touch screen phone, I may try it. I probably wont like it because Im a keyboard user, but I wouldnt be aposed to trying it.Well, then go ahead and check it out. there are already accessible Android phones out there, but do a lot of research to find the right phone, when you hate Apples products! Im not saying Apples products are better than other products, but if you wanna try a touch screen for yourself, Ill highly recommend one of Apples products. why? then you are sure youll get the best experience from the beginning instead ending up trying an Android phone with broken accessibility. Not because Apples products are the best, but because Android
can be custumized and for this reason, accessibility can be broken, badly. If you wanna check out a touch screen, then do it together with an other blind person who have a lot of experience on how to use a touch screen. If youre doing it together with a sighted person who have no experience at all with screenreaders with touch screens, this is ment to fail, and you will only have a bad experience because the person cant tell you how it works.Just some friendly advice from someone who have tried both, both Apples products and Android, and tried to get used to touch screens only together with sighted people who had no experiences at all. Re: How do you break that addiction?

To be honest truegamer, it doesnt sound like your enjoying Alter so much, your just playing for the sake of playing, advancing for the sake of advancing and number crunching. Myself, I like games obviously, but I have occasionally used very specific games to distract myself from what was going on in my head at the time. At that point I am not caring about the exploration, about what Id see next, about the fun bits of games I usually care about, Im just looking at the numbers and running to kill time and avoid being alone with my emotions. This has happened a cuple of times, particularly with stat heavy games, most crytically I remember a point in 2008 where I played Smugglers 3 for about 36 hours solid. If your playing alter for this reason having dentin freeze your account or something similar wont help you, sinse the problem is your emotional state not the game, and if it wasnt alter itd be something else. Another th
ing I get from your above post is isolation and being alone. One of the interesting types of self deception an intravert can play is saying well I choose to be alone because I prefer it that way when effectively it is not a choice but rather because it is the plane and symple truth that for a Vi person to be accepted by a group of sighted people is a difficult and often unrewarding process and takes a lot of work. It is certainly possible but by no means easy.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175807#p175807

Re: Questions regarding iPhone and Mac

The main reason for going back to Windows is that the iOSification of OS X is taking its toll, and Im increasingly depending on virtualisation even to run the simplest software (EG Thunderbird, for mail, to handle mailing lists). Im also conscious of the bugginess of recent OS X updates regarding accessibility, the lack of choice, and the fact that flexibility is increasingly and generally being compromised. I just cant have that on my primary desktop machine, which needs to be fast and responsive. As a plaything or on a portable, OS X proves attractive. I do regret it, because Windows 7 is the most infuriating pile of pooh I have had the misfortune to run, but realistically it has to be on the bare metal to be useful. To find your nearest Apple store, use Apple Retail. Of course, you can also purchase online. My advice is to look in the store and then purchase online, because p
urchasing online gives you configuration options.Converting a Mac to a Windows machine is easy (as long as its Intel, naturally). Going the other way is much harder, but you can look into Hackintoshes if you really want to. There is, as I said, the option of virtualisation. But honestly, theres nothing quite like the real thing.Yes, WWDC is both streamed live and made available afterwards as a download from apple.com and in iTunes as a video podcast. Its 5 PM GMT (6 PM in London) today, whatever that is in your timezone. The disclaimer on the VoiceOver page is just a generic disclaimer; its hard to imagine any such restriction applying to VoiceOver. The singing voices are built in and just sing to the tune you heard over and over again with whatever input they are given, although it is in fact possible to make OS X voices sing use pitch and tune parameters. Ive never seen anybody do this yet, though.HTHURL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175815#p175815

Re: Questions regarding iPhone and Mac

2014-06-02 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — Off-topic room : Sebby via Audiogames-reflector

The singing voices are built in and just sing to the tune you heard over and over again with whatever input they are given, although it is in fact possible to make OS X voices sing using pitch and tune parameters. Ive never seen anybody do this yet, t
 hough.HTHURL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175815#p175815

Aaron, I just found a glitch with AAC thats kind of odd.I entered one of my levels with 45 lives, then I got 10 extra lives.I checked my lives with L and it told me I had 55 lives. When the thing that gives your lives as part of a text message came up, it told me I had 45 lives.Do you at least have an idea why this could be?Yes, I know it wont be fixed, but I just wander if you know why it happened. Also would you think about hosting Remnant in your stages section once the new site goes live?Argan: The fire goes fast, but you just have to learn the placement of the bariors and spikes.I had a problem with this stage to, so I know how you feel. The other problem is that the game makes you do the stage in reverse when youre running away from the fire. You do have some leway with the fire, if you can get a hed start on it.Tip: Use quick saving! To do this, get to the inner fortress stage, then ALT F4
out of AAC after the inner fortress stage loads. This will let you load up your save and practice until you get it finished. This works on the rusty fight to, but you cant do anything else in AAC; not even shop; until you either lose all of your lives or finish the stage. If you need to, use the quicksaving to practice the stage.Get to the checkpoint, then, before you let the fire start, practice going through the stage from left to right until you have the placement of spikes, delete rays and bariors memorised.Hope this helps.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175823#p175823

surviving an apocalypse...

Okay so this seems to have been talked about a fair bit before, and there may have been topics in the past few years I dont know about, but I figure itd be interesting to see what everyone has to say about this: as it says in the title, what strategies could one use as a blind (or in my case, deaf/blind) individual to increase their odds of survival from zero to, say, 0.1? Any scenario, no matter how far-fetched, but preferably somewhat realistic. The things Im the most worried about, personally, are an electromagnetic pulse, since besides basically our whole infrastructure collapsing, Id be without much hearing, and effectively out of the game, and a worldwide epidemic. If you read cracked.com theyve touched on apocalypse scenarios before, and have cited several reputable studies that seem to indicate that not everyone around you is going to immediately revert to self-survival mode without a care for anyone else as depicted in just about every apocal
ypse book or show out there, so I guess thats something, but even if I didnt die of the affects of such an event (explosions, fires, car crashes etc) and someone didnt try to kill me, I dont think I could keep a clear conscience just hanging around, as Id probably be pretty useless in a desperate survival situation. If you were on your own away from a lot of people you might have a slightly better chance, assuming you could find food and get access to basic supplies, but prospects for long-term survival would probably still be pretty bleak. It really scares me how much blind people depend on our existing high-level infrastructure and society to be able to do, for all intents and purposes, anything, especially if it involves traveling, shopping, making money etc. So, thoughts?URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175830#p175830

Re: the touch experience?

Well, as far as Android accessibility goes, I wouldnt touch that with a 10 foot pole, from what Ive heard. I hope though that this topic doesnt degenerate into a battle of the devices...As I said, that kind of stuff just works on my last nerve. People seem to use their phone as a lifestyle. I personally think thats unhealthy, not to mention neurotic.Another thing that I forgot to mention yesterday is the general durability of phones today vs. phones that were made even 5 years ago. When I first bought a cell phone back in 2005, it was a Nokia of some kind. It wasnt even a flip phone, and wasnt at all accessible, but the battery life was great. it could last for a week, even under heavy use. It survived drops and being sat on like a champ. The buttons were well-defined. Since texting hadnt really taken off at that point yet, I wasnt really considering the pitfalls of accessibility at all at that point.A few years later, I
switched to a smaller, still inaccessible, flip phone, and I only did this because I got a free phone due to the contract I was under at the time. the old phone still worked fine, though, although the battery was starting to weaken a bit. Although I sometimes wished I could text, it wasnt a burning desire that I had, so I happily used my flip phone until I switched to Att almost 3 years ago now. In fact, that phone would still be in use today, since I gave it to my mom when I was done with it, if my parents hadnt recently switched cell phone providers themselves. The point is, it worked great, and there was barely a scratch on it.My current phone is a Pantech Breeze 3, which Ive had for the past almost 3 years. It has limited accessibility, but at least I can text and add contacts. Sure, there are times when Id like to use the tip calculator or alarm clock, but those arent things my Braille Note cant do, and thats relatively porta
ble. I know, I know--what if my Braille Note breaks? Thats a real possibility, of course, but I always am tempted to fire back: what if your touch screen device breaks? Then what will you do? Because, as I said, these all-in-one devices do foster an unhealthy dependency on technology. Think of the people who are so reliant on GPS that they drive off bridges because the GPS told them to. Or the people who appear helpless when their IPhone isnt glued to their hand. Each standard phone, with a keypad and nothing else, that Ive had has lasted several years. My Pantech does have a bad battery that Ive been meaning to replace, but other than that, its practically in the condition I bought it in. now, granted, I take good care of my things in general, but I feel that phones that are built to serve one purpose (two, technically, if you count texting), are built to last. But the rate that people go through touch screen devices is alarming, to say nothing of
the point that was raised above about how, when the latest and supposedly greatest product comes out, which, I might add, is usually fraught with bugs at first, people drop their old device like a hot potato, and go running off to the store to buy the new product, even when they cant really afford it. My sister, for example, had a Galaxy s4 for awhile. Each time she would buy one, it had nothing but problems. It would freeze all the time, shut off randomly, reset itself, and so on. Had she been a smarter consumer, she might have looked into the device before she bought it and found out that it had been reported faulty by a lot of people. But since she didnt, she eventually just upgraded to the S5. About a month later, she accidentally sat on it, and the screen cracked. So off to the store she went, yet again, for a replacement. Its just ridiculous. I mean, why would you continually return to a product thats given you nothing but trouble?URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175838#p175838

Re: Swamp, zombie fps by Aprone

Hello everyone and Aprone.I propose to add a new type of HC – PvP-mode:When each player becomes at least of level 50, the other players will be able to hurt/kill him by his weapons (like a zombie). In accordance with that, the fort attack method may be changed too: while the siege mission is coming, all members of the defending clan (who are online) can join it on the NPC-guards side to help defend the fort.Rewards for killing players, of course, should be significantly higher, than the rewards for killing zombies (about 20 * level of a victim). So, I want to know opinion of the swamp community about the PvP problem. I think that PvP-battles will be very interesting and exciting! Finally, I have a small question about the SCS. When using code “add random zombie kind=zombie number”, I can only add some dires on my map. For example, lines “add random normal=100”, “add random raider=20” or “add random ripper=50” don’t add any zombies – the campaign map is staying empty. Is it a bug?Thank you.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175839#p175839

Good points above Turtle. Also people today are alot more careless. Thankfully I would think that blind people would take better care of there things in genral then sightlings. I do have friends though that treat there I Phones like junk, and they arent built to last. Because developers want there money and thats how they make all there money! Ive seen statuses and groups on face book by friends. Dropped my phone in the toilet need numbers. Dropped my phone in sewor need numbers. Dropped my phone in coffie need numbers. Like the rate that I see new phone need number messages is a bit alarming. Sure those siturations are extreme, but its stupidity and its also from being made poorly because they are hoping they will break, and because you must have candy crush you run out and buy a new one. Like even if you drop them they can shatter. My Nokia I dropped once, the back came off, the battery came out, and the si
m card. I panicked but after I put it back together it worked fine! There is something to be said for low maintenance the more things you jam into 1 device the easier it will break. Like that saying the taller they are the harder they fall.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175840#p175840

This is a 2d top-down game, meaning you go in all directions.Their is no jump buttton, and all fights are controled with a menu enterface. This is a classic JRPG game, Japanies role playing game, so lots of things are done with menus.Im blind myself, but I have the game and would love to see a project like this come to completion. How is this done anyway? Ive never heard of something like this being done!I thought someone would port it to windows, but Im baffuled as to how this can be done with the actual rom.Doing it with a rom image does promote piracy, so the only leagle way this could be done is if a port was done.If this is done in its current form, lots of blind people would be encouraged to download a rom image of the game without paying for it, and Im not really happy with that idea, as I own the game. Its a good idea to make this game so everyone can play it, Im just not vary thrilled at the

Youd get sued the second you released any of those titles for violating the copyright of the original game. Also keep in mind that each of those games were made over a period of at least a year with an entire design team behind them. The only reason the original version of Quake is accessible to us is that ID Software released the sourcecode for it, thus allowing the VI community to add accessibility mods into the game without fear of legal retribution.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175844#p175844

Since texting hadnt really taken off yet, I wasnt really considering the pitfalls of accessibility at all at that point.A few years later, I switched to a
smaller, still inaccessible, flip phone, and I only did this because I got a free phone due to the contract I was under at the time. the old phone still worked fine, though, although the battery was starting to weaken a bit. Sure, there are times when Id like to use the tip calculator or alarm clock, but those arent things my Braille Note cant do, and thats relatively portable. I know, I
know--what if my Braille Note breaks? Thats a real possibility, of course, but I always am tempted to fire back: what if your touch screen device breaks? Then what will you do? Because, as I said, these all-in-one devices do foster an unhealthy dependency on technology. Think of the people who are so reliant on GPS that they drive off bridges because the GPS told them to. Or the people who appear helpless when their IPhone isnt glued to their hand. Or how about people who cant even remember their family members or significant others numbers without using their contact list? Each standard phone, with a keypad and nothing else, that Ive had has lasted several years. My Pantech does have a bad battery that Ive been meaning to replace, but other than that, its practically in the condition I bought it in. now, granted, I take good care of my things in general, but I feel that phones that are built to serve one purpose (two, technicall
y, if you count texting), are built to last. But the rate that people go through touch screen devices is alarming, to say nothing of the point that was raised above about how, when the latest and supposedly greatest product comes out, which, I might add, is usually fraught with bugs at first, people drop their old device like a hot potato, and go running off to the store to buy the new product, even when they cant really afford it. Its ju
st ridiculous. I mean, why would you continually return to a product thats given you nothing but trouble?URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175838#p175838

Well, bugger me! I scraped together some notes, the highlights of which Ill share. I hope you find them useful. Notice that Ive deliberately excluded anything that isnt personally relevant, but I think Ive got everything that matters to us.First of all, no new hardware was announced. This is a developers conference, so I suppose I can deal with that.My overall impression was that there were frightening technical changes, especially for the developers, and also that there were a surprising number of pro users on the Mac, but I think Apples strength is and will continue to be integration and task-orientation. There was little [[wow]], for me; its struck me as mostly lacking technical depth and advancement for the user, and a lot of Form over function. Somehow, I fear that the implementation will prove
the rule. I hope its not mediocre or superficial or purely profit-oriented, but my gut feeling says that it might be. There is no Innovation, just new features. Tim Cook nevertheless managed to take a swing at both Android and Windows, many features of which are listed here. And of course theres no word on the accessibility, yet, although Ill be fetching these new releases to try. Here goes:iPhone 4S and up, iPad 2 and up, iPod Touch 5 and up: iOS 8 announced.Yosemite: OS X 10.10 announced. Free.iOS: Family sharing, with a single credit card giving access to your combined stuff. This excludes my family, as a matter of fact. There remains no multi-user support in iOS.Continuity handoff allows physically proximate devices to share state, so you can move from one to the next easily and continue.iOS: automatic hotspot for a Mac that is nearby, with automatic configur
ation of parameters.iOS: Extensions are sandboxed system services provided by apps, including social and keyboards. Yay, Fleksy is now possible. Sadly it looks like ad blockers wont be.Finally! iCloud Drive, allowing portable filesystem access to the data in iCloud from all of your apps and devices, including Windows. Storage is cheap, too. Drop dropbox, and still have better integration and a file system on iOS, at the cost of putting your data on Apples servers.iOS: iMessage gets per-group notification silence, ability to drop self from group, ability to send location, ability to do push-to-talk. Groups dont bother me much in Apples walled garden, but I suppose wed better prepare for the onslaught of undesirables.iOS: relay SMS messages and phone calls for a Mac. Yay! No mention of iPad as an SMS sender, but knowing Apple it probably wont be allowed.Mac: AppleSeed (p
ublic beta). Not iOS, notice.Airdrop is portable to both iOS and OS X now.WebGL, SPDY in Safari. Ooh! But SPDY is Google tech, which is not allowed. I guess thats the exception.Mac: centralised spotlight which extends outside the filesystem to the web. Bing-powered.Premium video, explicitly mentioning Netflix, in Safari. That means EME, which means DRM, which makes me very, very sad. But this is Apple, a content consumption company ally, so I shouldnt really be surprised.Mac: flat UI design. Also, a Dark mode. Some mention of RSS feeds in the shared links sidebar in Safari. Perhaps the RSS feed reader is back in a new form.iOS: photo collection goes to iCloud, including albums and changes. The Mac part will arrive later.Mac: Maildrop uses iCloud Drive as a repository for attachments up to 5 GB sent using Mail.
Other clients see a secure link. Id much rather turn this off and fix the mail system, but yeah, more integration magic.Developer tools: many new APIs, a new language called Swift with the speed of Objective-C without the Baggage of C (infidel!) and the convenience of scripting languages. The Swift language is described in this here ebook. This is what I meant by Frightening; Apple seems to have a serious not-invented-here complex.iOS: HomeKit provides home automation using Apples unified protocols. Apple protocols are usually well-engineered, so lets hope they keep it open (I reject closed network protocols).iOS: HealthKit for unified health data access from peripherals.{/*]CloudKit gives developers infrastructure from which to run hosted applications and the stack to use it.iOS: app store previews, using videos. Damn, damn, damn! Make mental note to immediately request a refund at the slightest hint of insurrection from purchased apps!iOS: lots of little enterprise improvements, better data security, out-of-box enrolment for the end user, exchange vacation support, per-thread VIP status, free/busy support, document apps which expose documents to other apps (hey, why dont we get that?), and more. And, doubtless, things that I simply missed. So there you have it.As to my take from the announces, iMessage relay is the one thing that could keep me on the otherwise very consumerised OS X (ah, gone are the glorious old days), but iOS 8 is definitely worth it. Oh yeah, which reminds me: I was right about OS X turning into iOS. Discuss. URL:

Re: surviving an apocalypse...

I agree with fastfinges first point. Learn stuff... and a lot of it! In a completely worst case situation, you could find yourself alone, and Im not sure what to tell you. That is only the worst case though. If you end up with even one person with you, or hopefully a group, knowledge can be your way to earn your keep.It may be a bit far fetched to use this example, but lets pretend I have found myself in a desperate survival situation. I watch a lot of those survival shows, watch survival videos online, and have read quite a bit on the matter. The information from those sources (gathered over the years) would undoubtedly help me survive... yet none of those authors or TV personalities are actually a part of my survival group. They have not physically helped me in any way, yet their knowledge alone has been invaluable. If you were part of a group trying to survive, even if you couldnt head out scavenging for s
upplies, you could feed them information that they did not know. You would have the same impact on their survival as those authors and TV personalities have had on me. Its hard to even say what information will be helpful to know, because sometimes the most random piece of information would make the difference. Just learn a bit of everything, and brainstorm ways it could help out in different situations. A guy in your team eats some plants and clearly seems to have been poisoned... chewing up and eating charcoal (the black, NOT white) from yesterdays fire can lessen the poisons effects. To avoid that later, test a plant by putting a small piece between your lip and teeth and let it sit there for a while. If the plant ends up being dangerous, it will tingle or burn your lip over time. You could easily be the guy who saves the day, on a regular basis, if you know things the others dont know.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175850#p175850

If you go over to the forums on Project.aon, the website for the Lone wolf gamebook series youll see much the same in terms of layout etc.Its however the subject of the forum that really will attract visitors, and as I said Im not sure another computer games forum is needed. Ill also say that having a forum is not all a picknick, indeed administrating and moderating one is something of a job and requires careful thought and action. ive several times run into people who want to create their own forums specifically because they want to be a moderator or admin and percieve such things as some sort of privilidge, where as in reality moderating is more a job that needs doing, and sometimes quite a difficult one, than anything which is particularly fun in itself. This is also why Id urge anyone considdering setting up a forum to think carefully about it, sin
se incorrectly moderated forums can be nasty places indeed.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175854#p175854

I hate the whole thing where you reset the stats to 333 hp, 50 attack and 50 defense. Theres the boss in the zelda rom dark world that stomps around and i couldnt defeat it. I turned on my space bar pressser script so that I wouldnt destroy my fingers hitting the space bar, and even after 5 minutes of continuous superhuman space bar spamming, he hadnt even died. Also he kills you in one hit which is also unfair. So yep, other than that, its really cool. I love the cut scenes.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175860#p175860

Hi.So, still no real file system in iOS?Well, the airdrop between mac and iOS sounds really interesting. I wonder if it would let me transfer any kind of file from my mac to my iOS device?I dont know. Most of these features really dont interest me.I am wondering about the system extension thing. Is it finally true that Apple will stop or at last semi stop ruling over iOS with an iron fist?Somehow I doubt that which is why Android is seeming better and better every time I try it.It will be interesting to see what kinds of accessibility features we get.Im hoping for new voices, but judging by the disappointment in iOS 7, Im not keeping my hopes up.So, I dont know. The only thing Im interested in at this point is airdrop between OS X and iOS.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175861#p175861

ok, concerning android accessibility, its not that bad, especially in android 4 and above and in phones without exass of custumisation. youd consider trying googles own nexes phones out. a lot of my friends have droids and I dairesay we can use them quite comfortably.yeah, this is not a debate on whether A is better than B or if groth of technology is good or not. anyway, as it did come up, I dont believe in lagging behind while I agree that overuse of any tech isnt desirable, using a piece of technology thats 10 years old is not my thing. at Jeffb, did you ever consider the fact that if all apple customors stopped buying their products, those laborers, child/adult wont have any jobs, and may die of hunger? Re: A Chrono Trigger project

Is the game still being sold through official channels? Id figure it went out of print at least a decade ago, if not two.Really, when the lifecycle of a console is over and the games arent being sold anymore, Im not really sure Id call ROMs piracy.True, some older games get re-released, mostly in compilations. And Im totally down with buying those (On that note, are the original NES Mario games available for, like, the Wii, or possibly the DS? I already have the Sega Classics collection for PS3).But between the fact that the originals are inaccessible (making buying them as blind people kinda weird), and may or may not even still be available short of EBay (which does not benefit the creator, just whoever owned the cartridge last), and the fact that, simply put, the only way were going to be able to add accessibility would be through an emulator... well, forgive me for not feeling too horribly unethical about ROMs.That
said, I usually make a habit of only downloading ROMs for games I actually own, which Id consider a decent principal if youre concerned about piracy.(Anyway, Chrono Trigger in particular was developed by a team of quite popular developers/artists/composers/writers, so you can probably hunt down stuff of theirs that theyd still benefit from your purchasing, if youre particularly torn up about it. The only member of the Chrono development team I can remember off the top of my head is Akira Toriyama, because I didnt actually pay that much attention when I researched this 6 years ago.)URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175865#p175865

Re: the touch experience?

Hi.Concerning Android, the accessibility is almost up to par with iOS.There are still a few areas that need work, but overall it is pretty usable.I know, I used to think Android was horrible in terms of accessibility and it was for a while until I think 2011 or 2012.Anyway, I agree with the points that touch screens are great for navigating around but are horrible for typing. This is why I will continue to use dictation or a bluetooth keyboard.I do agree that touch devices are easy to break and become obsolete so quickly precisely because the manufacturer wants you to keep buying the new hardware which continues to earn them money. That is actually one of the greatest annoyances with iOS and android touch screen devices; they become obsolete way too quickly.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175867#p175867

Re: the touch experience?

I for one would much rather have a device with no touch screen and a qwerty keyboard. If designed properly, it can be no slower to navigate, especially if you were able to enable first letter navigation. Thus, if you unlock your phone to a home screen and hit the M key, itd land on messages, then mail, etc. My fave phone of all time was the metal plated nokia e71. It was thin, fast, did everything I needed it to, but alas, did not support 3.5 G or LTE data transfer speeds. Since Im a bit of a road warrior I felt the need to upgrade to a touch screen device just so I could continue to tether my phone to laptop, tablet, etc and get decent speeds out of it. I spent the last three years bopping back and forth from droids to IPhones, and finally settled on the IPhone. I did this for two reasons; IOS has way better braille support, and if Im going to be stuck with a touch device, I wanted it to be small enough that I could use the phone with one
hand. Now adays, my phone barely comes out of my pocket as I keep it paired to a focus 14 blue all the time and interact with it through that keyboard like environment. I absolutely cant stand typing on a touch keyboard, and I consider a bluetooth keyboard to be equally as bad because it means I have to take out two devices instead of one. The only reason Im able to use the focus without getting too pissed off is that it comes with a handy carrying case that allows you to use the braille display while wearing it over your shoulder. Combine that with a good low profile bluetooth ear bug like the Plantronics M155 or the Aftershockz bluez, and your phone need never leave your pocket again.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175871#p175871
