Yeah, thats what I thought. But straight ahead didnt work, and I was insta-killed.Heres a question for you. Mostly for those of you whove been playing the game a hell of a lot longer than I have.Have any of the areas/stages/mechanics been tweaked to be more friendly in any way, or is this one of those games where player feedback, at least the type we can deliver, doesnt honestly count for much? Im asking because I truly dont know, not because Im trying to be snotty about the whole thing. Particularly if nothings ever going to change, Im ppobably just going to drop the game though, as I dont really fancy having to ask for help every hour or so just so I dont randomly die.Are BK1 or BK2 more friendly in this regard, and worth playing, or are they less forgiving/more buggy/less intuitive?

You need to find the rocket launcher and ammo for it. Open the doors in the building at the middle of the room and grab it. I think the rocket launcher is placed randomly, but I dont remember for sure, sinse its nearly 10 years sinse I completed the game. [[wow]], I remember the first time I did it. It was damn awesome!

Hi.I havent had time to check the latest build yet, but I have two quick questions:1: Wil it b possible to save the game when the full version comes out?2: Will you be able to fail the game, like choosing the wrong choices, people will get mad at you or kill you? I love the story, but the game is not currently challinging at all, because you can just keep choosing random choices without failing, because there arent any conciquences on doing so.

Hi.Im still working on completing the latest beta version. Im currently pretty much stuck in level 3, where lots of enemies comes after having started up the engine and fixed the structure failure. Ill keep trying, but sometimes its pretty annoying to keep doing the same thing over and over again. It takes a while for the engine to start up, where I wish all the waiting time could be skipped.Where do i find the information on how to create maps? I havent seen that mentioned at any places. And how do I load a user created map?

@Aaron, actually the deflecting is more like your shot and the enemys shot hit each other and anihilate, the problem is obviously you have to be bang in the dead center otherwise your shot and the enemys will pass each other in mid air and likely youll both get hit. As to the game, its basically space invaders style, accept that obviously your flying in space not on the surface of a planet. your ship can get left and right, and the enemies are in front of you moving up and down, forward and backwards.I think this game does have a lot of potential, but I hope the developer does work on the audio representation a bit more to show exactly this sort of thing, indeed the fact that I can only find out this information about what is happening by looking at different parts of the screen is a good indicator that there is more work to be done.

Hy guys, my name is Felipe and Im one of developers and first sorry my english Well our idea about the game is to make a game that is balanced for both people with visual impairment or not and really we rely on old arcade games.Enemy ships always shoot straight to the bottom of the screen randomly as they move randomly at different speeds so the game ended up becoming much harder for someone who is seeing the ships or not, some enemies are sometimes more easy to be hit not targeting them but just shooting at random.As for the sound, we know he is not 100% accurate, but we believe we got a acceptable precision for the game, but were not satisfied with it we are still working hard to try to further improve the engine and so we need a lot of feedbacks.Another big problem we had is that this first version of the game, was to balance for the iPhone 5 
 and iPad retina that has far more powerful hardware. Comparing with their predecessors, the graphics and audio are much more balanced. In the predecessors, actually there is an delay in the game, that we are already working to minimize or even extinct with the update that well release to the end of this week.About the sounds of gunfire, shot emits sound the whole path who is very short and stop making sound when it comes out of your screen, when it passes very close to your ship you hear a VUSH in the side that shot passed, another detail is that the game does have 100% use of visually information, audible. All in game sounds, from sometimes lower or higher. We had the concern of each enemy type has a different sound.Your spaceship has no sound of engines as was said earlier by someone, all the sound you hear is emitted by other objects in the game. Ikay, I just found a game braking bug.When fighting the ruin gardian and losing because your turns run out, you get sent back to your cabin with only the last person you were forced to use in your party.In my case it was Simon.The party option on the main menu is gone!This needs to be fixed, soon, if not now.

Hi.Finally, finally, I have completed the beta. [[wow]], this is really awesome. I have also completed the small costume mission. [[wow]] man, this is so awesome.Have anyone managed to save up for other weapons than the plasma rifle?It would be very nice, if the key to throw off the enemies could be changed. Ive runned into an issue a lot of time where I press enter while running to defend myself, but then I pressed enter on a cargo lift or other things, which made the fight impossible to winn. Its cool that you can close the door and block the enemies, but its not nice to do that by mistake.If the feature is not already there, it would be great to have a repeat feature which repeats the last mission objective.Keep up the good work man. Its so awesome!

Hi.Really awesome game so far. I finally managed to beet it in its current form, that is, I got down to the 3rd floor and cant go any farther, because thats where the game ends.It is certainly challenging, particularly when there are 4 enemys. I was walking arround with a mangled waist pretty much the whole game. It got mangled from an ork on the first floor, but I still managed to survive. I did have to start the game over like 5 or 6 times, because I kept getting defeated.Anyway, really awesome game, and I hope that you will keep working on it. It certainly has potential to turn into something that we may have never seen before.

Sandslash332, you can check the stats on a pokemon.Rachel hasnt included the documentation for a while, but the number keys, as well as most of the keys on the top letter ore will give you info on the pokemon.In battles, A tells you current hels, S the enimies percentage, and d will describe the enimy to you.Try out keys on status screens and see what happens.I forget all of them at the moment.

The last time I checked in the store, the items in the inventory were in at least a bit of an order that you picked the items up in, so the plasma cutter was always on the bottom. What I do is sell enough at least so I can buy the next thing I need, but im careful to make sure I dont sell my plasma cutter, really I dont know why the game allows you to do that. Personally the stores in dead space 2 are easier to use for me, because health packs and such are on one area and weapons are on another. Items arnt really that importent, as most of them such as health packs can be used with a quick command. On ps 3 heal is square. Repairing the ship is easy. Dead space 1 consists of nothing but repairing, so all you need to do is follow your objective locater and grab whatever you need. You can practicly play through the entire game and not need the inventory.

as for a zombie shooter... the reason Swamp is paid is because there were too many hackers. Therefore, the likelyhood of someone wanting to create a free, multi player zombie shooter is quite slim.As for grand theft auto... I dont know if that would be possible. Hello all,I created a character on Miriani about a week ago, and at first glance all seemed to go fine, Untill yesterday.I was standing in a shop browsing through some items than I was stunned and stranded. Fortunatly I managed to escape simply by buying a new ship.I was told that I could by my two drones back from my strander for 4000, I refused, I would rather buy new onse for a higher price than fall for that pile of bull...I took my old ship (a freighter) flying home. I landed and was stranded again! Now I am accused of firing on a planet with my freightor. Hoping to be able to prove that it had to be a mistake I scrolled all the way back in my output. allas it whent not that far back. When I asked my captor for prove against me, she just kept silent.This has been my first week on Miriani and defenitly my last one.Greetings, koma7.2

Hi Ryan. Well, exposure for audio games is always a good thing, and Im pleased your writing the article, (I have vaguely heard of greenlight magazine). On one level however, I will say your question isnt entirely answerable, sinse to a large extent what audio games people like playing is a very individualistic business, you might as well ask what video games people like playing. Audio games these days can be found in many different genres from simple arcade style games, to online fps, to even a couple of rpgs and multiplayer stratogy games so there is a lot of choice, albeit perhaps only a few entries in each category to choose from, (sinse there are still very few audio games available). As regards experience and audio games vs video games, well I became involved in audio games myself when i found my limited vision no longer able to keep up with complex 3D environments, indeed I do still own a
  Snes and MEga drive and play them regularly and occasionally play indi graphical games in the 2D style as well.There was a point where many audio games were coloured by acertain perception of blind/visually impared people as mostly eldily or lacking in computer skills and thus were very much created in a simplistic vane, requiring basic sterrio targeting of sounds or simply being replicas (and in some cases none too complex or well featured replicas), of tradditional style board, card or puzzle games like black jack, concentration or hangman. Im pleased to say that things have moved on considderably sinse then, however most of the developers of audio games are still generally visually impared themselves, and through a combination of lack of technology, and lack of availability of sounds and actors audio games are in many cases still running a long way behind what similar indi graphical games are d
 oing currently. For example, the first audio online fps was only produced in 2010, and though more has recently been done in the rpg and stratogy genrees we are still waiting major developments, at least in the west (some people have run japanese audio rpgs, which are more sophisticated but take the devils own time to translate and run). Another issue in audio is the field of vision. In an audio game you are manifestly limited to the uses of sterrio sound, thus showing objects vertical positioning can be an interesting challenge. That being said, in some ways the limits of view can be helpful both for challenge and atmosphere. For example, in Pcs Packman talks (an audio version of the classic arcade game), the view is first person and its necessary to remember and carefully view the maze and ghost positions, rather than get an instant overview of all elements. Audio games are also slowly being recognized as a way to promote atmosphere, games such as p
 apasangre and the inquisitor on platforms like Ios being marketed to the sighted public as well as visually impared gamers as effectively interactive dramas. That being said there is still a very long way to go, and still many areas where audio games are falling short, especially in producing more mechanically complex games such as detailed rpgs.Another more recent problem is the use of canvasing and other graphical technologies that make platforms like Steam near impossible to access using screen reading software. I think probably the best way to get acquainted with audio games however rather than me rattle on about them, would be for you to play some yourself. You can find a continually expanding database on this site which has over 470 games listed. For audio arcade style games Id recommend trying esp pinball xtreme, or The Blind Swordman, (esp pinball xtreme is a commercial game but has a 15 day demo). These should give a 
 good idea of hhow reaction games play in audio. Id also recommend you have a look at Shades of doom from Gma games. This was the first audio fps, and though games like Swamp have carried things further has a lot of the basics of how to navigate and understand positioning in audio, as well as some very creepy and atmospheric sounds. Id also recommend trying Castaways by Aprone, an audio civilization style game which should give a good idea of how to perform quick map overviews and how you might handle a civilization style game. it is actually quite surprising how complex audio game play can be, its just a shame that this hasnt been handled as well as it could be in the past and so many games play like boppit clones, which is another reason why Im pleased to hear your writing an article sinse any publicity is helpful especially among indi developers.Btw, feel free to quote me as you wish or ask any questions.You can

Well, i thought they would both be for pc, but also mac. But if no one codes on the mac, then just pc. Have people tried to create a grand theft autto audiogame for computer? Or for xbox360. I mean it would be kinda weird if it was for xbox, because they are not accessible. Just wondering. Couldnt they do it with bgt? Also, the reason i thought of a zombie shooter, was because swamp had terrible problems on my system, so even if i paid, it wouldnt work.

Heh. He did the same thing I did. Eloquence driver with NVDA. Once I figured that out Ive simply never looked back.As far as getting a character killed when you poured time into her...three words for ya. Final. Fantasy. Seven.Incidentally, Ive died to the Ruin Guardian, and I didnt lose my Party option, so I dont know whats going on there.Also also, it is possible to have Stella fight Infected Cruelclaw and use Final Corruption. Her damage is laughable and I dont recommend it, but you can do it. The game gives you beeps, but no hi-ya sound like the other characters get.

Im not sure what I could say that Dark hasnt already. Subjective experience is difficult to explain, and the sorts of audio games people play are the sorts of video games people play, whenever possible. The fact that the market is tiny, and very few people develop for it, keeps our options quite limited.From a visual perspective, though, I tend to find a decent descriptor to be If it doesnt make sound, you cant see it. Imagine if, while playing a visual FPS, enemies were only visible briefly while their footsteps were audible. And the field of view didnt really have boundaries, but was also kinda flat. Now, try to aim.I could go on all day about querks of audio-only presentation that break some things that are pretty straight-forward with video. Im not sure if Id have a days worth of information when its done, but I could ramble for a while, anyway.For example: remember 2D sidescrollers? You know
  how the boundary of the level never appears on screen, because there is nothing there? Visually, this means the player character can walk to the edge of the screen, even if they usually stay centered. In audio, the idea of a screen boundary makes no sense, so in audio sidescrollers, the player can stay centered even when running into the edge of the map. True, something more like the video version can be done in audio, but unlike video, you dont have equal clarity for everything on the same xy plane. Its more like theres a lightsource at the exact center, and everything gets fainter the further away it is from that point. So decoupling the camera from the player actually makes the player harder to keep track of, which probably has a lot to do with how rare it is for an audiogame to do so. Actually, the closest an audio game has come to camera controls, that I can think of, is Swamp--a zombie FPS--which has scopes for certain weapons.(Well, and I tried develo
 ping something with camera controls, once, but people didnt have much luck with it.)I think that was pretty far off topic, but I hope the compare/contrast helps explain some of the differences that result from the difference in medium.

Hey all. So without mentioning NVDA, which im sure most of us use, im curious for those jaws and window eyes users, which screenreader do you prefer as far as stability, features and useability? I think its pretty well known that jaws doesnt seem to change much over the years, just adding features here and there, but not really being innovative. In fact, this reminds me of the death of screenreader innovation written by a former employee of Freedom Scientific, which i believe Trenton might have linked to in a different topic. But i suppose this topic is more to ask in your point of view, which piece of software would you, or will you, continue to use long term. Remember, NVDA doesnt count, as we have meticulously concluded can stand up to any commercial product. One final point id like to mention is, which screenreader would you use in a job setting? For example, lets say you were a system administrator for a big company, or a software dev
 eloper. Which would you use for software like remote desktop, server maintenance, or programming. These are just some points of discussion, so have at it!

With the development of SAPI, better more human sounding voices could say the words.Some games used several recorded SAPI voices so the customer didnt have to buy them. The next step was to record a real human saying all the words in a game.The advantage of using SAPI or a screen reader to say the words is that the player can slow down or speed up the words and change the volume of them.
