Re: best audio player?

VLC notes:Installer was straightforward and easy to use and provides launch functionality before ending.First usage: The main window is interesting; I get no information when tabbing or arroing through.  I have discovered there is a menubar though, easily accessed as is the case in many traditional windows applications by hitting alt.  Shortcut keys don't seem to be traditional; that is to say, holding down alt and pressing p does not trigger playback, and holding down alt while hitting s does not stop playback, unless I have done something wrong when installing this thing.  On the other hand, I've found that one can use the spacebar easily enough and hit s to stop playback.  IN some cases, such as increasing or decreasing volume, the shortcut keys don't work at all.  it would seem that to some degree the people who made this thing have created the very reason for this by assigning shortcut keys that are already in use and perfo
rm other events, thus the conflict.going to preferences yielded a headache and a half, for while the ability to change shortcut keys exists, using it successfully with either NVDA or JAWS was not possible.  NVDA kept reading a ton of information that all seemed spurious or uninteresting and didn't help me figure out where I was supposed to be to achieve the very simple act of switching a key to something else.  JAWS reported much less information; when tabbing through I landed on various numbers that meant absolutely nothing to me at all.  At one point, I tabbed and got myself into a situation that made me believe that the screenreader might have crashed because there was no information being reported.  I had to alt tab away from the media player to get going again.Simple settings like switching out your soundcard do not seem to save by default which seems strange to me, given that this is the first media player I've seen take this approac
 h.  Files that have been previously played are saved in something called recent media which is supposed to be accessed by hitting alt r, but no doubt because of one of the key conflicts I cannot access this information by any other means than going to the menu bar and selecting it from within media.  This is, yet again, another interesting approach; hitting play when launching the player will not automatically play a file but present you with the ability to open something.  Hitting the spacebar will do absolutely nothing at all. This is not my final play with this thing, and these are not my overall conclusions, but it's not looking good, certainly not looking better than foobar.  About the only redeeming quality I've found in this player is that by default it sounds slightly better than foobar.  Beyond that, I see no reason why it would be likable to anyone using a screenreader.

Re: best audio player?

for those who have been asking, yes, there is a way to keep foobar from popping up whenever a new track is opened through explorer.  Simply go to preferences, downarrow to shell integration, tab until you get to a checkbox labeled "Bring to front when adding new files."  Uncheck this checkbox and you should be good to go.  From that point on you can keep foobar minimized if you so choose to and simply listen to your tracks by going through windows explorer and using any global shortcut keys you might have set up.  Never deal with the foobar window again.  I almost never do.

Re: Accessible HTPC set up, seeking advice

Yep, that case looks nice, but it's way too tall (37.5 cm) to go under your telly. On the other hand, at least right now, I have about 300 GB spare on my smallest disk (the MacBook Pro's hot-swapped 1TB SSD) including the media collection, so I can afford to use a simple USB enclosure with 6 TB in it and still use RAID1. And that makes an absolutely great solution for me, because I access everything using gigabit Ethernet. This will all change when I've finished ripping my DVDs though, and I'll have to scale up to one of those dedicated RAID controllers. As to the yoof/celebs taking pictures of themselves, well yes, it's more a general distrust in cloud providers generally. Apple, for they're currently hosting my email, have shown themselves to be remarkably resistant, but I'd still benefit from having it at home all the same. It's also true that as an email sysadmin I'd like some of my flexibility back.Edit: now I th
ink about it, it goes much deeper. What I want is to live in a dream world where I never do backups, never worry about fire or flood, and where all my data--not just media, but everything--lives in a storage black box. So far, that seems illusive, and/or hazardous. RAID1 is great for uptime, but nothing more, so we still have old-world problems to deal with. That is unless you switch to ZFS; then you can forget using a Raspberry Pi, as you'll be on demand for much more memory and CPU to maintain consistent performance.

Rofl! I don't doubt that! There's something which in my view is a bug, and this has been reported in the game's topic. Even when you go bankrupt, the game keeps on going. You can't interact with it in any useful way except to read your Email, but you're still paying your employees, I assume visitors are still coming, etc. I have suggested that everything should come to a dead stop the instant you go bankrupt.

Re: A really good Dr. who related Youtube series

That could be irritating! I bought all my torchwood separately, so it worked out okay. Actually I admit I can't remember if Torchwood season 1 had audio description upon initial  broadcast, I actualy don't think it did. Season  2 onwards did,  but I'm not sure about season 1, so it is possible the dvds don't, though you might want to check the audio tracks of the other  seasons just to make sure.I hope you get it fixed one way or another. One of the things the horrors of Moph has done is just make me appreciate Russel T davies all the more. While I don't think he's God the way some people do and I do have my  reservations with some of his stuff, particularly some of his rather  rushed season finales, the over the top torchwood season 1 and a couple oflogical holes, I do think he settled in to get right more than he got wrong over all, I certainly don't agree with  Stewart from He  who Mones that
Russel was an evil corporate sellout, even though he did give in to chease on occasion and some of his character decisions were questionable, still better   characterization that  is sometimes a little too obvious than no characterization at all, or still worse characterization that makes your characters just look shallow. What I actually said previously about good episodes from each series, I do struggle to think of eleventh doctor stories I really liked. Perhaps the Silurian reintroduction, The  flesh and stone episode with the gangers, the Doctor's wife episode Niel Gayman (despite the fact Gayman's episode last series nightmare in silver rather fell flat), and possibly God complex with the sentient building. That probably is all I can think of and in each case it was more the environment that I liked than  the plot surrounding the Doctor  or his assistants, indeed even though both almost people and The silurian episodes
had plot developments, I largely forgot about both and had  switched off when the Moph wanted to do his "and coming next week! a dramatic camera angle of Amy pond's baby that will bring up yet more questions that will never be answered ever!!" I confess I'm probably feeling a little harsher towards the Moph sinse the next Bf audio I have to listen to is the very very very! awsome eighth doctor story  Invaders from Mars, which features the eighth doctor in 1930's chicago first playing at being a private I, then foiling an alien invasion by using the Orsen wells  War of the Worlds broadcast to convince the Aliens that the earth was  already under the control of the  mighty  martians!  And what is my next  episode of new who to compete with such a fascinating premise? Clara and Danny pink flirt with each other around a school while the Doctor is totally useless as a care taker, and there may or may not be a
n alien (though I'm guessing not, or at least not much of one).

Re: Books by Stephen King

Thanks for removing the post and the explanation. As it says in the Faq, while we're absolutely %100 against copying audio games, books and such are quite another matter, though we do need to be a little careful as we don't want the forum to get into trouble. Regarding Steven King, I personally can  only read King in audio. I once tried to read Salem's lot in braille and just got frustrated with having to waide through so much, and I don't particularly enjoy reading with a synth voice anyway. However at least lots of King's stuff is available in audio form.I haven't read any major King works sinse Misery or Doctor sleep before hand, but I have read several short stories which I got a colelction of. I was particularly impressed with the story "jaunt"  both because I'd read  Tiger Tiger (or the stars my destination as it was published in the states), by Alfred Bester, which first had the concept of Jaunt
ing as mental teleports King mentions in the story, and because the horror of Jaunt was something uniquely tailered to a thing I'm particularly scared of. Beware! spoilage ahoy! if you haven't read Jaunt, read on only at peril of the story being spoiled by the  giant spoilers of  spoilery doom! spoilers! The idea of just hanging in nothingness with no sensation for eternity is one I find particularly scary. I can't say why, but the idea just freaks me out. I've had it turn up in a couple of stories, but in jaunt where that is the focus of the horror and where such a miner thing as not following airport safety leads someone into it was wonderfully creepsome, and I give King much credit on actually managing to create a story which I read at about two in the morning which genuinely stopped me from  sleeping for a while, or at least made me very jumpy. Then again, if I hadn't been looking for chills, I wouldn't hve read k
ing. I also read Crouch end, a story I first read several years before, which I loved for it's writing and it's cthulhu atmosphere, but which didn't physically creep me out as Jaunt did.

Hi all,So, I've started world of war, beat the easy difficulty, and then... realized I had a fresh save! I forgot that I backed up my previous trophies, so it's fine, I can recover them. But what's the point in that, when you could try to do things that you've missed and have fun in the process?Well, I've unlocked rocket shot and bomb escape, but seriously, I forgot how hard this game is, as space invader games goes, this one's the most rediculous, in a good way.I haven't managed to clear normal difficulty yet, I'm still figuring out the best way to use weapons. I'm facing a lot of millimeter misses, whereby I am about to shoot an enemy down and the thing lands. I get to the point where I'm out of nukes and just overwelmed.I like using the shotgun a lot, the trouble with that is, if you miss then you've got a second to wait, and meanwhile the enemies are still descending. Also, that boss. Seriously, on
easy, that battle was intense. If that's just easy, then what is the battle like on normal, or even hard?

Re: Pontes Sound Puzzle - puzzle up your music collection!

Hello allAfter a long period of time,  version 2 of the game Pontes Sound Puzzle is out. Here's what's new:* The game has been rewritten completely in DotNet (more stable and require far fewer resources than AutoIt)*A puzzle editor in included and can be called via  Control + E key combination. The editor enables you to easily create puzzles from audio files.* The maximum possible number of puzzle pieces is raised to 36* Save and load is changed. The puzzle files are saved with the extension .sPuzzle .Attention! Saved files contain no audio and no longer work if the audio file has been moved or deleted.* The last puzzle is automatically loaded when starting the game.* 2 new labelling modes have been introduced (letters and file names)* Mouse using is changed. Now you must use the left button to move pieces by drag-drop,*Scenario mode is introduced: If you have multiple puzzles saved in the predef
ined saving folder, the game will load them one at a time, in alphabetical order. This  way the game is useful if you want to use as an educational game.* Supported audio files and save files can be opened directly with the game. also any supported audio file sent via context menu "Send to ..." - "Pontes Sound Puzzle" will open in the game.* Supported audio formats are mp3, aac, ogg, wma, wav, mp2, mp1 and aiff.* The installer includes three music fragments that can be optionally installed. They will copy themselves in "My Documents \ Pontes Sound Puzzle \ Music" Download and install version 2 of Pontes Sound Puzzle

Dark, unfortunately the spoiler warning was a later edit prompted by Aaron. I'm glad it was in time to save you from the spoilerage.Regarding the DVDs, I played it on my Mac and the software identified a second audio track but unfortunately this proved to be commentary rather than audio description. I might fiddle around some more and see what I can find but I know there have been several cases where a series set includes description but a boxed set of multiple series doesn't.

Did I download the books ages ago from a torrent, yes, did I convert them all to text yes. Would anyone know that I did any of that? No. they'd just see a folder with Steven king books in it. Re: Announcing the first release of Park Boss, an amusement park simulator

This is a splendid game! I have a few suggestions for improvements I'd like:Could it be possible to read email when the game is paused? If you get lots and you have a really bad Sapi voice it can be hard to keep up.Can you name your rides and zones? I'd really like a zone named "traditional fairground" and "pirate island". Also having rides you can name so they're more relevant in the themed zones. How about an opportunity to save a couple of games at once? You could, for example, have a really massive park you keep working on while you start some others with different themes and strategies.Apart from that, the sounds are fun and the idea is wonderful. Some of the random events are interesting if super-harsh! (I once lost 6 attractions to a fire after only around 12 weeks into my park.) The voice for the main office guy is brilliant and the way the market research works is clever.

Hi.I'm using IOS 8 and there's been no problems with the app what so ever. well it's ios 8.2 but even when running just IOS 8 it worked fine. Yes there was a bug where sometimes it would not go back to the main screen after finding no text, but all you have to do to fix that is press the pause button and it will go back. That should be fixed in the next update. but yeah I don't understand why people are having problems with IOS 8 it's working fine for me. I have a question, what IPhone are you running it on?  It works good on the five and five s, and I'm guessing great on the six. but not so good on the 4s.

They were sort of "what games came to mind at the time to fill the recommendation" So on that score, feel free to recommend more titles as you wish.

Re: Monthly chat October

It  does seem rather whacky to me.  Even my evil specialist school let people use braillers rather than having such a blatantly out of date method. If we want to draw the pen and paper analogy, it would be like a sighted person being told "you can't use a regular fountain pen with it's own ink, you have to use a steel knib, an ink well and blotting paper"  Though even that is probably a kinder analogy  considering that though there would still be a need to learn to write without spilling the ink and blot the paper correctly, the sighted person's  hand writing skills of moving the actual stylus would be similar believe anyway, where as the difference between using a slate and using a braille is gigantic and using the one wouldn't particularly help you use the other, especially for quick notes. As I said, this sounds very much like "it's how we've always done things so we will continue and to p
ass our course do this or else!" On another subject, I can now very much recommend Iain banks to any fans of sf. His style is a little quick and action, but the action is great and the ideas underpinning it are awsome. I read the first book in the Culture series, Consider Phlebas in braille about ten years ago, and am rereading in audio now and  dinging it even better than I thought, particularly sinse I can afterwards go on to the second book, Player of Games. Much as I've been the  person to heap  scorn on the Rnib talking book services for their habbit of not completing series properly, I will say with Banks they surprised me, sinse a few years ago they only  had a couple of the  culture books in audio out of order (as is so often the case for their sf), however now they have the first 8 all completed.

@Jesseleivo: Sir, we do think that your attempt of publishing something that is truely and fully based on another game is, to be truely honest with you, pretty foolish. If that is what you are doing, as Cosmos itself has caused enough drama as a game, shutting it down would probably be the best option here. Truely coding a game is one thing, putting up and actually publishing a game that's a stock one over here is another one entirely.Regards,Prometheus, the Administration Team.

Re: Accessible HTPC set up, seeking advice

To be honest the recent cloud paranoia is down to certain celebrities having crappy passwords, while at the same time taking nude pics of themselves and keeping them on their phone. Not wise to say the least, you don't want anything like that going near a connected system especially if you're a celebrity.Ehh, you can get up to 3TB quite easily in a single 3.5 inch drive. I have an older MacBook pro which I like but the mac mini is way out of my price range anyhow. In fact the Fractal Design Node 304 is a mini ITX system with drive space for up to 6 3.5 inch drives, with trays that can be configured for either 2.5 or 3.5 in pairs. That being said my media collection is currently stored in my desktop on a 1TB Caviar Green and I still have space to spare, though that may change if I find an accessible way to convert DVDs to files. Most of that is video content from iTunes and I've tried a couple pieces of software to remove DRM but sadly they weren't
 accessible.

Re: Accessible HTPC set up, seeking advice

Well, if you can manage with a single disk or maybe a couple depending on your form factor, but I would prefer to separate my "Disposal" collection from my proper data archive and OS installations, both because data loss is recoverable when you have the DVDs, and because for all practical purposes you won't be able to back up a constantly-evolving media library that you're filling up with multi-ten-gigabyte rips. So I prefer, when building a single basket, to make it as sturdy as possible. This is much easier for me since my desktop is already always-on and accessible over the network to an Apple TV, the Mac Mini is simply the file server with connected storage using software RAID1.If you just need a MiniPC build, you could always try out PC Specialist; they make nice, chunky boxes that give out smoke in normal operation. They have a good range from fanless Atom to gaming I7s with discrete graphics, and you should be able to find the right balance of per
formance and power, although as we've discussed it before, I'm personally convinced that the Mac Mini hits the sweet spot for me, even if they are bloody expensive for the upgrades. As usual, opinions are my own, I may be wrong, etc. In fact, I'm thinking about my strategy again in light of recent cloud paranoia, and the likelihood of my moving my mail server back in-house. So YMMV.

Re: SoundRTS and the CrazyMod (update 8.3)

Actually cloud storm got moved to the voodoo priest of the orcs, which I guess does make sense since the orcs' main weakness is air units, but it makes the voodoo priest even more deadly than it already is. Robots aren't actually all that powerful; plasma cannons do a lot of damage, but it doesn't change the fact that robot units have pretty low health and are vulnerable. The plasma cannon is their only really destructive unit, the others have mostly low damage. The radar and magnetic thunder storm abilities are very useful, but they can't necessarily help you win; the magnetic storms' effectiveness depends a lot on luck. And I've seen it way too often where technicals defeat robots because grenade launchers manage to get into the adjacent square despite the presence of plasma cannons and quickly destroy all the ground robot units because they are so easy to wipe out. There's also no way you would win in the reverse situation; the robot units jus
t get destroyed too quickly when entering a square under attack from an adjacent square. I also feel like the robots are disproportionately expensive, but I guess that's to limit them somewhat since they are not limited by food.

Greetings everyone! We would like to bring to your attention a new system for buying foods and drinks. From now on, bars on the ground and those in the ships which have them will be based on a menu system with categories, something we like to call 'interactive menues'. This, in return, means that you will no longer have to wonder whether a certain bar has a certain item, because they all will have the same items. Furthermore, players will be able to request in-ship food terminals, or even an in-ship bar, during Prometheus Happy Days or as a donation item, and they will be able to add up to 10 customized items in addition to the stock ones.Host: tagmanpro.comPort: 2223

The music itself is unprotected. Presumably it's not actually malicious, it's just stupid. The engineers were more worried about meeting checkbox requirements than making geeky types feel better. Even the ability to automatically add to iTunes from a folder (which many people still don't know about, for some reason) was kept a secret until Apple published a note about it and people began finding uses for it.

None such thing with foobar. You can throw a lot of DSP plugins  at it and it works good. Now the thing about foobar it does not have any playback shortcuts by default which was cool with me. I like making my own shortcuts. Plus I just find that foobar works way better than winamp ever did.

OS X will run on non-Apple hardware, but the experience is always a bit sucky. My advice to the naughty people who want to do this is to obtain VMWare Workstation and then apply a patch that disables the safety check. That check simply allows the guest OS to run, it doesn't add any more support. And the Hackintosh community would be hard-pressed to go up against the almighty VMWare and it shows.Wait a minute, am I advocating something that Apple doesn't want you to do? Hmm.

Re: Accessible HTPC set up, seeking advice

I don't advise rejecting external storage. Whichever way you go, you will end up connecting much disk, so you should plan for space and power, whether over USB/Firewire/Thunderbolt. Otherwise, as you said, you will end up building a monster, which while it is entirely feasible, leaves you with a hulking computer not very suited to shoving under the telly. At least a RAID stack will look nice supported by your TV stand. The usual way to do this is to have a NAS, but  there are problems for us there, so probably USB. Then you use any OS (I use OS X on a Mini) to run your streaming server of choice, which could be XVNC, iTunes, daapd, or others. Apple TV is nice if much of your stuff is in Apple's cloud, or you have a sub to a streaming-only service, but otherwise makes no more sense than just controlling iTunes with the Remote app or the Apple Remote. And of course nothing says you can't run multiple servers at the same time, depending on which OS you are o
 n.

Re: A really good Dr. who related Youtube series

Can you get the link to that one Blindncool? I'm not that bothered about the blindness angle but I'd be interested to see if they have good comments about Doctor who. I use the Doctor who ratings guide which can be Found here however the reviews there are obviously written, but more than that it depends upon who is writing. I also find that particular site has a lot of people who pretty much bash everything that doesn't star Tom Baker! which is  not good. Indeed I confess T Baker isn't one of my favourite doctors, although I've got nothing strongly   against him and I do really like Leela, and he had some good stories. I can actually think of stories I liked from every period in Doctor who history, although i confess the Moph is stretching that rather a lot, one reason I no longer collect the series on dvd but own all of the new series with Ecleston and Tenant, plus col
lect the Bf audios and what classic episodes I can. Btw, Cx2, annoyingly if I remember rightly Torchwood season 1 doesn't have talking menus. I got the audio description working using my usual highlighting counting, but obviously that won't help if you can't see the menu. If however you get completely stuck,  detailed synopses can be found Here  It's the torchwood page from the Doctor  who reference guide ( a different site from the ratings guide despite the similar name). they're a bit behind, especially with the audios and novels, but are complete up to around 2011,  including the entire classic series, plus most of the modern series, novels, commics, audios and just about everything else.

Proxy server configuration is not for the faint of heart. If you leave a proxy server open, you provide a route for bad people to do bad things. And although powerful, Squid and mod_proxy are insanely tedious to configure. My advice: first, establish if you can tunnel VPN traffic. Most of the time, it suffices to install OpenVPN with TCP port 443 listening; then even the most restrictive firewall cannot prevent you from VPNing in, as long as they do not know that the host is a VPN server. That leaves open the option of looking for a VPN provider that is not yet known by the resident Gestapo.

I'm not sure that Nginx can actually stream.  Given that you're setting it up, it's possible you can cobble something together.  Now that my attention has been drawn, however, it's probably not 1-2-3.If you can't afford a vPN, you can set one up.  I don't know how, and it's not simple.  I'd really suggest just paying for someone else's.  They're supposedly configuration nightmares, and this is coming from people who shrug and find Nginx simple.

Re: best audio player?

@enes,When you start out with foobar, you're starting out with a player that packs a powerful punch from the get go, in spite of its appearance.  Chances are you'll land in a simplistic window the likes of which shouldn't take much getting used to, complete with a menu bar, status bar, and a couple of other things you may or may not find are of interest.  Pressing the tab key will more than likely report only two things, default tab, and playlist list or list box, depending on what screen reader you're using.  I'll get back to these later, as they are of importance.  For now, I'll draw your attention to the menu bar, which contains the functionality you are looking for.Jump to the menu bar by tapping the alt key which will present you with six items.  From left to right, they are: file, edit, view, playback, library, and help.  Hitting enter or downarroing will allow you to enter the playback menu, which cont
ains controls for playing a track, pausing a track, stopping a track, jumping to the previous or next track in a playlist, choosing a random track from within a playlist, and stopping playback after the current track is finished.  Within this menu of options you'll also find a submenu labeled order which allows for the sorting of tracks, IE, shuffling by playlist, album, folder, and so on, repeating the entire playlist, repeating a specific track, and randomising the entire playlist which is not the same as shuffling, but that goes beyond the scope of this post.Obviously this is probably far from being a convenient way to use the player depending on who you ask, which is where customization comes into play.  Hitting alt f will bring up the file option in the menu bar, in which you will find options for opening files, folders, playing CDs, URLs, and others.  The choice we're looking for is preferences.  Hitting enter here will bring up a treeview
in which your focus will more than likely be an OK button.  Tabbing twice will switch the focus to the actual items in the tree of preferences.  here, we want to downarrow to keyboard shortcuts.  Tabbing once will place you within a list of preassigned shortcuts you may or may not find useful.  Getting rid of those you don't is as simple as hitting the delete key when one of them is selected.  Creating a new shortcut key is as simple as tabbing to the "add new" button and pressing it.  Once pressed, any item you previously selected in the list of shortcut keys is deselected and a new item is created with no attributes asigned.  These will be filled in as you proceed to tab through the various configurable aspects of the shortcut key.  for the sake of keeping this short, I'll first walk you through creating a play/pause key, which is perhaps, the most important part of any media player and which will open up the list of poss
ibilities for other keys you may wish to create after it.Upon hitting the "add new" button, you will want to tab 3 times, at which point you should end up in yet another treeview and a massive one at that, which presents all of the functionality of foobar.  More than likely, everything within this tree will be open by default.  Don't let this bother you, since the tree does support first letter navigation.  the item we are looking for is labeled "playback."  Make sure this is opened and downarrow four times or until you here play or pause.  Once this is selected you can proceed to set the actual key itself by tabbing yet again and hitting the key or group of keys you wish to use for this opperation once you land within the edit field.  Tabbing yet again will present you with a checkbox that gives you the ability to globalise the key, making it available to you throughout the entirety of your system.  This can present
conflicts depending on what key or keys you decide to use if those keys are already taken up by other tasks on your system, so use this checkbox wisely.  by default, it will be unchecked, which means the shortcut key will only work within the player itself.  Congratulations, you have just made your shortcut key and can now tab to the OK button to save it along with any other shortcut keys you already have, or you can tab back to the listview and see how the system has labeled your key and make any changes you desire to make by selecting it again.  The beauty of this system is that if you are creating a number of keys you know all correspond to a set of actions, IE, playback, you can create them all very quickly.  Perhaps the next shortcut key of importance that would work well for demonstrational purposes would be a stop key.  After creating the play/pause key, we need only up or downarrow to it to select it, tab over to the add new button which will desele
ct that item so that you don't overwrite and accidentaly change it, tab three times to the tree containing all of foobar's functionality, and here, given that the information has not changed one bit, you will conveniently land back on th

quot; button, you will want to tab 3 times, at which point you should end up in yet another treeview and a massive one at that, which presents all of the functionality of foobar. This can present conflicts depending on what key or keys you decide to use if those keys are already taken up b
y other tasks on your system, so use this checkbox wisely.  by default, it will be unchecked, which means the shortcut key will only work within the player itself. Perhaps the next key that shortcut key of importance that would work well for demonstrational purposes would be a stop key.  After creating the play/pause key, we could simpy up or downarrow to it to select it, tab over to the add new button which will deselect that item so that you don't overwrite and accidentaly change it, tab three t
imes to the tree containing all of foobar's functionality, and here, given that the information has not changed one bit, you will conveniently land back on the play or pause option, at which point you can simply uparrow until you hear "s

To be honest I stopped reading at the phrase "massive spoiler warning" which was enough for me who hasn't seen the episode yet, although from your "poor quality" comment I'm not holding out much hope. Sounds like The Moph strikes again!

Hi, one thing I didn't like about foober was that it kept popping up a new window when I selected a new sound. I don't want that, I just want to browse my sound files uninterrupted.

The problem with Hide My Ass is:1. they are more expensive than even website hosting...2. The free version does not play videos and 3. When I installed the HMA toolbar, my internet provider blocked the right-click option in firefox.

Moderation! As I've said before Brad,  please don't! post direct links to get copywrited stuff sinse you risk getting the forum into trouble. This is a warning! for more info read the faq. Feel free to say "If anyoe is looking for steven king txt contact me" and take it off the forum, but posting actual folder names to use torrents to is rather out I'm afraid.

Re: Monthly chat October

Other than some vague shape resemblance I don't see the "pen and paper" thing at all, not in terms of speed or clarity, nor do I really get the note function where other devices have existed for that for ages. These days I use my Iphone, indeed I traveled down to london and back yesterday with all my travel info on notes on my Iphone, but previously I used a parrot voicemate, or if I wanted serious notes of a lecture or talk I used my laptop. London was fun, although getting  back on the train was ineresting given that the disabled  assistance never materialized and I had to be nice to a security guard, though that worked out. I'm slightly shattered today  because of that, but it was worth it, I now can sing a  very! commic version of A tenor all Singers Above, and have been told to go and try Sampson's Total Eclipse aria from the Sampson  Orretorio by handel.  I've heard this and it  is s
omething  I'm interested in doing, although it's about as different from commic stuff as you could get, still it's always worth a change, and I do like  a variety in what I sing.  Learning new music is also   always fun! I'm reading Iain Banks Culture series now, starting with Consider Phlebas which was good when I read it in braille, and is proving great the second time around, although it's a very grim universe.

Re: SoundRTS and the CrazyMod (update 8.3)

actually robots are still more powerful than technicals. Plasma cannons are deadly when used in volume, like if you have 40 or 50 of them. Drones are incredibly useful for detecting invisible units, and the radar tower's radar image ability allows you to glean instant intelligence of any square on the map. Technicals, I agree are extremely strong. I think that the best thing to do is to tone down both the anti air battery and grenade launchers' rate of fire, enough that fast units can get through the square without being hit more than like once or twice. I forgot about the elves having meteors, that plus cloud storm must be devastating. However, elves did need a boost from version 8.2, they were arguably one of the two weakest races in the game because they had no conversion ability, no flying units and no ajacent square attackers. Even savages have ajacent square attacks that are extremely potent especially if stacked.

Re: best audio player?

I couldn't tell if you meant hardware or software player. For hardware, it's Apple.Nowadays, for software, it's iTunes, on both platforms, sharing the same library folder and handling management, ripping, playback and some buying. Say what you like about Apple, but they provided a credible alternative to Media Player that handles most common formats. This makes sense for a Mac user too, because iTunes just happens to be bundled with the OS. But before that, I *LOVED* Media Player Classic on Windows. This is a simple, no-nonsense client of DirectShow, which for all practical purposes meant that it could play anything, because codecs are available for anything, even Audible before they noticed and stop that. VLC is OK but it is gaining feature bloat, worryingly. I would use it in preference to WinAmp though, which was already too bloated for my taste unless the new owners figure something out. More important, supported formats are proprietary, whereas VLC
uses VideoLAN libraries so they are much more reusable EG ffmpeg. I heard great things about Foobar, but never tried it. Perhaps I should.
