Hi all,Well I spent another  2 o 3 hours playing this game, this time trying to unlock the secret mode that can be accessed by beating normal. A strange thing is beginning to happen.I know for a fact that normal difficulty is harder than easy, even before the update came along. On normal, enemies take I'd say 10 percent more damage from you when attacking, and require about 10 percent more firepower to kill. Despite this, though, I have more items and resources now than I ever did on easy, at least as a whole. Right now i've just passed through the castle armory and have been introduced to zombie rats and bees. So I'm relatively close to the end of the game. My inventory looks like this: 8 angel breaths, 20 arrow pouches, 27 holy supplements, 16 miracle cures, and 13 lives. On easy, things weren't quite as favorable. The reason I think it's bettter now than it was is because I know what the game has to offer, and while I wouldn't say 
 I'm perfect at reacting to things as they come, just playing this game so much has sharpened my skills to the point where I feel confident in my ability to progress again, mind you this is normal difficulty we're talking about! While I was playing, I had the crazy idea that I could eventually beat hard if I really tried. Which is something I hardly ever say. LolFor the moment I am taking a break, and will probably attempt to finish this thing tomorrow. I'm excited to find out what the secret mode is. When I find out, I will post about it, though I'll not give too much away at first.

Everything else with Arachno is wonderful. The instruments are truly superb. It's the fidly bits and all these types of pianos and other things, and program numbers that don't seem to point to anything, and only being able to access one instrument attached to a program number despite the bank numbers being different. And getting the sound fonts enabled is proving a pain. I have quite a few new ones I just downloaded that I want to test out, but I can't until I know how to get them enabled.And Bassmidi not cooperating doesn't give me any other option. I'd appreciate any help you can give me. I am still new to this and I could be missing something important that could solve all my problems, haha.

Hearing about BK2 and BK3 is a pill hard to swallow for me then. :-) Although I still suspect The Gate is simpler than that by design, focusing more on the fighting aspect than on the puzzle one. I believe it could have contained something of what you said was in the BK series, as the unjumpable hole hints. But I'm not saying this is good or bad, either. I don't deny we need a lot of innovation, more than The Gate alone can provide. Maybe I should just finally overcome my laziness or whatever it is and learn how to play the japanese games. I guess I was just afraid the process would be too cumbersome to spoil all the possible enjoyment for me.To the one who was talking about mainstream cheap bosses: I get your point. There are and always will be two camps among gamers, as well as among the games in how they implement the bosses. I personally have to say I don't mind the way Hades works for a final boss, even when he seemed like ten times more difficu
 lt than Carmilla. But anyway, I guess I shouldn't be defending the game that much any more, concluding what happens right now is just normal discussion among gamers that is bound to start whenever a new, and even possibly controversial, title is released. Everyone has different skills and preferences, everyone thinks something different, someone gives up to emotions when writing here whereas others try to rationalize everything in advance. Just remember that I'm saying this about Hades having spent at least 3 hours, maybe more, trying to figure out how to finally defeat him myself. I guess I would certainly have all the right in the world to be frustrated at that point. :-)Also, I would like to clarify I certainly was not targeting anyone specific in person when I said I was sad about the complaints the game was receiving and so on. Many of them were bringing up a valid point and there was a lot of constructiveness to them. I was just reacting to the never changing

The Imaginatrix,QWS isn't tormenting you with options that don't work, it's simply stating the standards that have been set, and it is up to the synth to meet them. Since you found the other drum kits with the Microsoft synth, my only guess is that either Coolsoft or the sound fonts you are using are complicating things. I've been meaning to re-look at Coolsoft for a while, and I think in order to help you figure this out, that is what I'll have to do. I know you're new to this and that alone can make it daunting, but it sounds like there's something else going on as well that neither you or I can pinpoint at the moment. I can think of a myriad of things, some of which I have tried to point out here, but without sitting down and looking at it in detail along with you, I wouldn't be able to say anything definite. Since I have nothing better to do for a while, I might just download Coolsoft and load up Arachno or one of the other fonts y
 ou mentioned, and see if there really is a significant issue on the software end of things.

Hmm Lukas, I wonder if that's meant to be the way it is. When I reached that spot, I died almost instantly and the game went unresponsive for about 10 seconds, then saved itself and took me to the part where I had to fight the huge zombie, can't remember his name. Keep miracle cures saved up, you'll need them!Also for the time being I've left tutorial mode on even on normal, I find it helpful as a reminder of what's to come. It would probably make the game more chalenging with it off, and anyway I suspect I'll soon not need it.

Hi, while i'd love to chip in for something like this, i'm currently unable to as i'm working on the next major new version of dmnb, for the record dmnb was developed by just me with advice from others. So while a team of coders is not a dephanat requirement, i'd sirtenly consider putting a team together for your project. Not just development wize but also game design wize. Though it is possible for me to adapt the new engine i'm working on for dmnb for something like this, or maybe even the current engine, just strip out the spaceflight mecanics and science fictiony stuff. I'm sure my fello devs will be willing to help chip in, and i'd be willing to if you needed any advice. For now, the best advice I can give is, take it slow. Their will be plenty of people who will have plenty of ideas, but it'll be your job to select which ones fit your vision. I have a bug to report for the next update. I actually hoped it would be fixed in the last one, but it has been mentioned only once here so far.Possiblespoilersahead:When I take the door near the end of level 6, to the left of the second healing spring, I enter the area which I seem to remember had been fairly calm on easy but it gave me a nasty surprise now on normal. Honestly, I can't imagine I'll ever be able to beat that many enemies at once within such a limited spot with relatively few resources. But what matters is that, like someone else said some time ago, the game doesn't seem to be saved when entering this sub-area, and if you die here, nothing happens at all, you don't get respawned, although the game hasn't probably frozen either - it's just possible to close it with alt+F4. I haven't tested whether pausing the game works but none of the gameplay seems to work - I tried to check my health, lives left, and ev
 en to move, but nothing.To be absolutely clear you get which level I mean, it's the one where harpies are introduced, and just one level after vampires and the lightning rot first appeared.Spoilersendrighthere.Thanks for reading and hopefully fixing this soon. :-) In the meantime, I'll keep trying to get through this but I'm not sure if I can ever make it without losing a single life. Might be best to just start normal all over again, trying even more cautious strategies, now that I know what it looks like. But I can't wait to see what the unlockable mode is like, either. Hey there folks, karate25 here again. I knew you guys would probably love an idea like this, I kind of thought that I'd come to the right place and it turns out I was right. You're all on exactly the right track here when you're suggesting things like helping rangers pull weeds and tend forests, or being able to make simple leather armor for a farmer character, and the jewelry. You're going to be able to do that as well as purchase the shops themselves and set your own prices for the items the shop already stocks. Set them too high, and you won't sell as much if anything at all. Set them too low and you won't make a profit so you won't be able to earn the gold to buy that fine looking sword at the blacksmith's shop in that neighboring village, or buy that handsome flower vaze to go in the entry hall of your castle small shack or what ever kind of place of residence you wish. I can see I'm gonna like it here. I'll also tell you abou
 t how I know so much about these kinds of games since I'm sure you're all wondering how I came to play and love gaming so much. Well it all started with my mom. She basically helped me cut my teeth on simple little games like tetris and the little racing games on the old odyssey game system, and I also had some experience with the Atari 2600 over at my late Aunt Joyce's house. Later, my knollege grew when I experienced the original sega system and then the original Nintendo system. To make a long story short, I've pretty much grown with the gaming community from the sega system on up to today. So hopefully that'll give you some background of where I'm comeing from here. And I consider you my new gaming friends and family, hope you don't mind. And I've already spoken to Danny about this idea, and he tells me that medieval stuff isn't really his field of experteese, so I think that maybe aprone would be a better bet. In fact, hey aprone, if

I am glad that Hades is the way he is. We need less wimpy final bosses in our games. Of the english sidescrollers, this is definitely the hardest final boss I've fought. X1 and the q9 speaker voice, are the only other ones I can think of right now, actually.

So here's the short answer.  Do what is necessary for the recording in question.Here's the expansion on the short answer.  It depends entirely upon what you want the recording to convey.  If the sort of detail you want to highlight is something that compression kills, don't compress.  If not, then find the level at which said detail becomes muddy and stay above that floor.As someone who keeps his music collection in .flac, I go for larger, better quality, but when recording and distributing simple interviews, I'd compress the hell out of them for band width/storage considerations.  It's the difference between the Diane Rehm show, where all you need is clear voice audio and something like Radio Lab, where audio production is actually a part of the experience.Your .flac option and compressed file is likely the best alternative.

Here is my not that useful opinion of the last news post:Your idea seams, in most part, much more interesting than what we have now. It might get hard to get used to teleporters, especially because some things in the space are just gigant; there are some ships or planets where curten things are in 1000s, even in 1 (for example tram on nova galactic mining frater or whatever it is called) and there are also some ships that you forget where they are or just can't fly to them at this verry moment. But your replacement of teleporters would still be Quite nice, and it is much more realistic, too. if you forget where your ship is then well ... it is lost.Personally I think that it is after all your game, and that even though you should listen other players, try to still keep your games what they should be.So yeah, good luck with DMNB and DM in general.

yes you do need to point it to where it needs to go, ok, so if you wanted to load up the twriter disk, which, by the way, is one of my favorites because I remember it from elementary school, you would do the following, and I'll put it on the new line with the code tags. mess apple2ee -flop1 disks\twriter.dsk That is literally it, so long as you are in the directory, or you add mess to your path environment variable, you will get the emulator, give it a second to load texttalker and it'll start. I want to learn how to write programs for it, because I'm a crappy coder, lol, and why not enhance my crappiness by taking on more projects. I also want to find out how the phoneme mode of the echo works, I can enter it, but I think I need a phoneme table or something to create intelligible text with it.

Thggamer, which font did you upload? I'm just curious, since it's only 3 MB I have to wonder if it's one of the EMU ones. If that's the case, those fonts do support a few GS instruments in addition to GM.Blasting GD, what you describe makes me sad. It's good that a restart temporarily holds it off or at least relieves it for a time, but in the brief periods of time when I had the issue myself, it was damn irritating. The only time it really got in the way was with VST plug-ins, which are considerably easier to fix issues with since most vst plug-in hosts have an easy way to reset the buffers, so that when they start acting up I can just do a few keystrokes and get them back. Bassmidi, however, does not. If it were a VST, it might work better for some people. No scrap that, it would work better for everyone, as it would allow things not possible in standalone. But that's for another discussion I believe, we haven't gotten into VST yet, and a
  fair amount of confusion is already in this thread.The only explanation I can think of for the behavior is either poorly made sound drivers, or sound drivers which the synth just doesn't like. I wouldn't dare touch them unless you know what you're doing. If you have an external sound card, you could try that. Just set your system default sound device to the other sound card, Bassmidi should follow.

[[wow]]! Hades on normal is really tough. Feels probably the same way to me as it did before the 1.01 update on easy. Now, I'll be better prepared once I reload the last save. I really hope to unlock the other mode now. :-) By the way, it would be cool if there could perhaps be more achievements in future versions. Even if they didn't do anything special, just hearing about them (either the friendly vampire woman who's probably voiced by Gemma or the tutorial/guide voice could just tell you that you got or were called this because you managed to do that) would add a lot more fun to the game for some, I think.Just a random idea.Lukas

Haha, I'm glad. I initially pushed for real-time combat, but more sober heads prevailed - and it's a good thing, too. For this game, it works great, and opens up a lot of opportunities. Another style might be better suited for another project, but this all goes together into one package very nicely...at least I think so, anyway.

Stirlock: For this first game out of the chute we decided to go turn-based, just to make our lives easier. But we've made efforts with the sound design and other mechanics to try and make the combat as immersive and visceral as possible, hopefully getting a little closer to the excitement of real-time combat than some other turn-based games have.And as you may know, Ian is currently working his way through the challenges of programming an FPS for the project he's releasing soon...so there's a chance that experience may come in handy in the future. I've never gotten any of these to work BTW. I think it's my uefi version on my laptop. It's american megatrends. I heard they had very strict uefi. Plus trying to combine all the parts into an iso  is confusing for some people. If someone can just make a one file deal just  email me at djaust...@gmail.com and I can host it for  you for free and you don't have to worry about  any bullcrap zipshares or anything like that.  Not everyone knows how to combine this stuff into a bootable iso.  I'm not complaining or anything. that's why I said originally I can host this stuff no problem. That way people don't have to download like 8 files and unzip them and figure out which one does what.

I want there to be funny and upbeat songs to catch people's attention and become talking points, even if it's just unanymous ridiculing. Nearly everyone will be quite happy with pretty much any genre of music so there will be some fairly dark metal and goth stuff as well as things from musicals (like the Phantom of the Opera overture and one of the tracks from Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds).Keep the suggestions coming though, especially those quirky ones.

To explain about the server's downtime. Originally, I was going to keep the server up for players to enjoy, that is until the game randomly started blowing up almost every ship around inderion station. From this, i've concluded that not only is the original dmnb far too unstable for me to leave unattended and focus my attention on what I want to focus on, but that it'll also distract me from my current task. Which is to make a newer, and better dmnb v2.0. Ritten as I exactly want it to be with out the extra teleporters and such, and as I invisioned the universe as shown in project alpha. While i'm not accepting testers for version v2.0, if you wish to apply, you may pm me and i'll keep you in mined for when i'm ready to accept testers. I won't give any details at the moment on how v2.0 is coming along, mainly because their isn't anything super awsome to report just yet, but rest assured when their is, i'll post either on the site or her

Once again, i'll reittorate my requirements, and though's that I pick hopefully will follow them. 1, your here to test. Your not here to play and play. And lastly, and this is just on a personal note, I respect that we all have lives and reel life is more importent than gaming, but if you can't test, do please tell me so, don't leave me in the bin and expecting work from you. I'll do everything I can to preserve your spot if you notify me that you can't test, and just a simpple I can't test for x amount of time is all that's required. Anyways, with that out of the way, i'll continue working on v2.0 of dmnb and post an update when I can.
  Since the original dmnb is down, I am thinking of deleting the articles from the articles room pertaining to the old dmnb and asking that the entry for dmnb be deleted in the db.

[[wow]], I didn't even know this was happening and now it's already in alpha testing? That's awesome. I absolutely loved Entombed and, occasionally, I will still have a go at it. I think I was one of those who put a lot of support and effort into it and was therefore disappointed when my $40 netted a wonderful story but bugs that would suddenly and irrepairably derail your game after many hours of play time. I also got frustrated with the fact that the encounter numbers were set so that you'd quickly fight everything on the level and and then wander around for aes on the off chance that the random loot items were going to be worth your patience. Silversword has random encounters but they continue, albeit diminishing in frequency, as you proceed through dungeons. I'd probably rather see that to keep some variety.I'm excited to see how this progresses, especially if the idea is still in for having text files with modifyable monster stat blocks an
 d environment descriptions since I'm one of the many gamers who doesn't know anything about programming. I'm a writer though, and I create and run my own RPG adventures very frequently, so being able to create those visions as an interactive RPG computer game experience is pretty exciting.

CAE, If I pause the player while it's crackling, it'll still crackle once I resume the song. Yesterday, once the crackling started, the song would die away. No matter whether I paused and unpaused the song or if I told it to restart from the beginning, it wouldn't play a thing anymore - well it did play, but I couldn't hear it -, unless I closed the player and reopened it afterwards. Today however, the whole song plays. It stutters every now and again, sometimes it crackles, but after it has faded out, the sound comes back. The stuttering happens in irregular intervals, and there isn't a fixed time the buffer will take to "recover" while the song is muted. Because that's what I think is happening during those silent parts. Raygrote said that for some reason, the synth uses up buffer faster than it is getting it. Yesterday, it wasn't able to get more once it had died away, but today for some reason it is. At this point there has to be sa
 id that yesterday I hadn't rebooted my computer after trying out bassmidi. I restarted after the installation, but that was it. Between my previous post and my last attempt to play the song, my PC was turned off, so the restart is the reason for this change in its behavior, though I'm not sure if that's a good thing.

Hello, all!It's my distinct pleasure to officially introduce Out of Sight Games, a name I hope you'll all eventually come to know and love.A little background... A couple of years ago, Ian Reed (of Tactical Battle fame) and I realized we had a lot of things in common. We both grew up playing mainstream titles; we both lost our vision as young adults; we both found ourselves yearning to play the kind of games we used to, and not quite finding what we were looking for in the available titles. That's not to demean any other games out there - but they always left us wanting more.When Ian contacted me, he was already working on a game engine, but he needed an actual game concept to push it to the next level. I had no programming experience, and he was admittedly not a story or content guy. It was a pretty good match, and for some time now, we've been working on our premier release. What was supposed to start as a small project, mostly for idea-t
 esting, has taken on a life of its own and grown into a very sizeable project that I really believe will be enjoyable for a lot of people. We've also reached out to some sound designers from this community, and are currently working with a sighted sound designer who's helping us get the audio for this release to that next level.Well, while we're not quite to the point of releasing our first project, we are close enough to it (and even closer to a major announcement relating to it) that I thought it was high time to come out of hiding and let you all know that something is in the works. (Just in case I came across as claiming BK2/3 are better in every way, I will add that The Gate seems to be faster paced, overall. BK2 also seems to have a minor bug if you try to jump in the wrong frame while running, and I rather appreciate that The Gate doesn't use an Object Viewer, even though I wouldn't dare remove it from BK2/3.)

Okay, this part I get. Now, how the frigg do I enable soundfonts and know they've been enabled? I use the NVDA screen-reader, and the Sound Font Property page says "Check the box to enable a soundfont" but pressing Enter activates the OK button and closes the window, and I don't hear anything when I press Space, either when I've selected the soundfont normally or through Screen Review. I just wish I knew I was doing the right thing but I can't know until I test it out. And the soundfonts I have and am looking to collect seem to add different options if the titles have anything to go by. Where would I find those? Or am I understanding sound fonts wrong?

It is, in fact, an RPG - a fantasy RPG, to be exact. RPGs were always my favorite game genre when I could play video games; one of the things I really wish we had more of was games that place an emphasis on story and character development, but also aren't terribly linear and encourage exploration and immersion. So we figured, hey, instead of just wishing more games like that exist, let's make one!

Ouch Lukas, I second that. I just felt pure game rage after having over 30 arrow pouches, 16 lives, and 9 angel breaths wasted on Hades on normal, and I still ended up losing. I got to the part where he starts launching ghosts at you, and I still managed to hit him a quite a few times into that, though I didn't hear his blood splattering sounds letting me know he's almost dead. Though I may just have missed them. God if there was a way to check to see how much more damage I had to take from him before he was dead. That would at least give me some encouragement. But right now as it is, I'm done. I'll go insane if I keep doing this now. Maybe i'll try again tomorrow.

HI Danny,As I have said on Skype a few days ago I am happy to hear that you're redesigning DMNb 2 to be much more like Project Alpha, as opposed to a Star Trek inspired 2d version of Miriani or Prometheus. When I first started playing DMNB, I was rather disappointed coming from Project Alpha because of the amount of time players spend on board their vessels like a commercial pilot flying round the clock to accomplish various tasks. What was particularly unsettling was the limited amount of ground-based game play, which meant that all players would do is dock on a planet or space station, enter an area with a galactic network terminal, buy the equipment they needed, and board their vessels again.In contrast, Project Alpha kept players busy throughout its entirety. From level one to level five, players had to navigate their environment, explore areas for objects, and buy equipment at galactic network terminals. Weapons also had to be upgraded to insure that monsters
  could be dealt with efficiently. This was all done while trying to put a derelict together just enough to be able to escape the asteroid belt and escape Red Warp as it exploded, leaving them stranded on Inderian Nine. The subsequent quest to search for all of the components for the gravity jammer to then destroy the project was also intense. Without getting to deep into the game play itself, the concepts you introduced were groundbreaking for an audio game.Now, I totally understand why a redesign of DMNB is necessary. As you pointed out, the teleporters were implemented as a convenience for players, but they don't resemble the realistic experience of navigating the corridors of a vessel, or the surface of a planet. Red Warp was huge indeed, so was Glimmer of Hope, but I was able to learn the layouts of both ships and complete the game five times, enjoying it each time I did so. The cockpit-centered approach made the game rather boring for beginners to be honest, as there
  wasn't really much to do until enough credits were earned in order to upgrade to a much larger, more powerful vessel, which was capable of deep space exploration, combat, and planet cracking, among other things. So, providing players with a variety of activities, both in the pilot seat and on the ground will undoubtedly the replay value of this game. There were many times when I decided to take a break from DMNB because there weren't enough players to do missions with, since each player was focused on mining, planet cracking, or salvaging in order to earn the most amount of credits. That was one of the main problems, the idea that one player had to have more credits than every other player, which meant that the game looked more and more like a competition that decided whose ship was the best and most powerful. Instead, players should be able to explore derelicts together and not just to salvage artifacts, but to repair damaged components, as was the case in DM Pa. Along t
 he way, they should face similar dangers, such as self-destruct sequences, monsters, and structural failures, which would require problem solving in order to avoid certain death. That was the appeal of Project Alpha and taking this game in a similar direction will be a welcomed sign of progress. Finally, the reasons which brought you here are largely based on the player base. You had to deal with Drama, both on this forum and on the server, which didn't contribute to the development of this great game. Players were asking for custom ships, credit hand-outs, and features that weren't necessary, couldn't be coded in a timely manner, and detracted from the main ideas of the DM universe. So, don't be bothered by players who cause drama, demand constant updates, or free credits and rewards to progress through the game. This game can be enjoyed by everyone, as long as no one ruins it for everyone else.

@GeneWarner, I find your decision of buying a game only if it's under or at $20.00 quite stupid. I am not calling you stupid; I'm calling your decision a stupid one. I hate to say this, GeneWarner, but most games are, in fact, mre than $20.00. You'll find some games that are less than that, but most are more. So I suggest you up that price limit to a maximum of $60.00 or entirely get rid of it. The world doesn't work like that any more.

Hi danny.Well I have played the game for a while, though after the last lot of not playing I havn't been doing so.I know I never got that far into the game.The teleporters were good, though you are probably right about them not being realistic.I always relyed on them and used them to friequently.Hmmm however its not much good if you loose power during a flight with your turbocars offline unless they can be powered the same as the lifts or something or simply stop having cars and just have tramms or in vehicle shuttles.As for exploring large plannets how would you keep track of your ship and where it would be.I don't know if I want to spend half the game walking round to find things, thats what I spent doing on entombed1 searching every nook and cranny its why while I have it a full version, I hardly ever play it.2.  fast speeds.The trouble danny is you always have something new, something really cool and for ages
  I jumped on the waggon and went with it.I do think you need to cap things at one place and well just say no more on that one.I have played dmnb a lot and I struggled to get to where I could get things but yeah.As for project alpha, I agree with you, project alpha was a sidescroler though.I can only wish you the best of luck.I may try it when it comes out but I will not test.I am a trecky for the most part, I do enjoy concepts like running round ships and doing things.However as for speeds, I think the hyperspeed/ lightspeed/ trans speeds were all good.On the other hand I have no idea how deadspace universe actually works.I havn't really managed to listen to vids of that much or anything.Ofcause I will support you or would have I guess.Though maybe I wouldn't its just as well I am not in the group anymore because I probably wouldn't support you, the idea is a bit slow for my taste.I can't agr

Yeah, WSUSOffline is a misleading name, but no, it's not a Microsoft product. It can work with Microsoft's WSUS though, which as you say requires a server edition of Windows which in practice means, unlike OS X and Linux, nobody will have it on their home or small-office network. Yay Microsoft, always keeping it real for the 99%. And of course Win10 users will be getting all the updates anyway, regardless what you install.You can script additions/removals in your WSUSOffline install; that's how you set up includes/excludes and post-update routines to make the magic happen so that once your install is done you are all set for a nag-free experience. Sadly as people have said on here the process is more than a little bit hit-and-miss at this stage because MS keep updating the updates to make them more and more f***ing annoying.

Ouch Lukas, I second that. I just felt pure game rage after having over 30 arrow pouches, 16 lives, and 9 angel breaths wasted on Hads and I still ended up losing. I got to the part where he starts launching ghosts. God if there was aonly a way to check to see how much more damage I had to take from him before he was dead. That would at least give me some encouragement. But right now as it is, I'm done. I'll keep going insane if I keep doing this now. Maybe i'll try again tomorrow.

Hi all. I'm not gonna lie. When I started playing, I was definitely among those who were trying to figure out what made this game any different to all the other scrolers out there. As has been stated previously, I'm actually really liking some of these enemies/concepts. I'm only on level 5 currently, but definitely got myself into a couple of tight situations. I like the idea of the spiders basically being your death sentence, and turning into a zombie is a little amusing. Obviously I have no idea what he's even like yet, but if people have been able to beat the final boss already, then I discourage changing anything. I'm all up for a challenge. This is the same developer who made Stella in Paladin (arguably harder than the final boss, imo.)

Hello there again everyone. I'm told that I should put together a team of not only coders and sound designers but also game designers? I'm guessing that game designers help you to determine how you want your game laid out? I can tell you now that it's going to be large with the ability to expand. I'm thinking of pretty much letting it be player run, putting up a few buildings but then allowing the inhabitants either build onto them or tare them down or just let them fall into ruin or maybe even put another completely new building in its place. Also, you're going to have the ability to pretty much learn every sort of spell or weapons skillsets in the world without limit even having the option to improve and learn things from other players. Gold will be the inworld currency and I'm also thinking of having all sorts of animals that you can mount and ride and breed. Things like horses, unicorns dragons and griffins. So if any game designers sound designer

Well, I completed the game. Pre-patched version. was a little bit tough, but I feel that for the price, there should've been more stuff to do. Gonna try it on normal one of these days, see what happens, but I'm pretty certain it'll just be difficulty inflation. I did it on insane on demo version just for the laughs, and that's what it was. definitely a bit better than what we usually get though, and that's a good thing. but coming from a mainstream background, I'm hard to impress. Japanese games did this though, and The Gate is definitely headed in the right track.
