The original Pipe 1.0

I figured it would be good to put this up, since the version on audiogames.net and the archive is the remake of Pipe1.0 This is the version that came out in 2001, with the low quality sounds and evrything. What I mean is that it has midi files that play at levels 5 and 9 I think instead of cutseens, as well as some things that got removed from the version that Blind Software made and Called Classic Pipe. And yes, it works on windows 8 and 10, don't know about 7. I put the components as well as a new documentation explaining how to run it if you have errors in the archive. And no, I'm not trying to say that I developed this game by changing the manual, just explaining what to do if people run in to problems on new versions of windows. Group Policy is definitely most powerful as a management tool for computers in a domain, but there definitely are things you can do in the local group policy editor to make your single PC experience better. However, if you don't know what those things are, there's really no sense in paying extra money just to get that feature.

I was wondering this myself. I posted a topic awhile back which explained how to add tracks to playlists using NVDA. unfortunately, my workaround is no longer functional, and I'm stuck using my IPhone if I want to add songs to my playlists. For adding the odd song here or there, it's not the most terrible experience in the world, but it does get exhausting trying to add multiple tracks at a time using a touch screen. So it's back to square one for me, and, after revisiting the Pianobar client for Pandora, a nice, simple command line interface that allows me to interact with my stations seamlessly, I got to wondering whether such a client exists for use with Spotify. Surely there has to be one? If so, it would need to have the ability for me to add songs to playlists. Otherwise I'm not interested. However, it could definitely be a solution for the OP and anyone else who's tired of Spotify changing the usability of the Windows client whenever they feel like 
 it, and not giving a solitary shit about accessibility.

Godot is written in C, C++ and Python, and communication with screen readers (at least on Linux and Orca) requires using the AT-SPI interface; there are C++ bindings but from what I ha
 ve heard from AT-SPI developers it is better that I stick to the C implementation of the API.Also, the idea for this thesis is to develop a small prototype (making it accessible for Debian using Gnome desktop environment and Orca screen reader), as most of my thesis is focused on the Human-Computer Interaction study of users and their needs in the context of video game development. That being said, I would like that this project is actually useful apart from the theoretical HCI conclusions I may get from the thesis, and using Godot instead of coding a small game engine on my own comes from this will. I basicly assigned a key stroke to call a function in to play. Yes, the bigger the game the longer it may take to do that for every action, but it is mostly a copy and paste job after the code is written. you are going to have away to interup speech with sapi anyway, so why not have a function that makes the correct call for you anyway? That is from the writer side anyway. I do agree with you that it will take longer though. As a side note, it took me nore more than  lines to see if I needed to install the hook. I also check to see what screen reader was running along with storing that info so that my speech interrup funcion works. Anyway, better go before I did into what I done there.

Hello everyone, saldations to all!This code I'm going to share, I did based on an existing bgt class called "ultrarec" I found out there.This class allows you to record audio directly in bgt using the windows MCI interface, which allows you to perform operations with multimedia files, of the most diverse.I was thinking about this that I decided to quickly write functions to play supported files, such as mp3 for example, besides being able to work with other mci commands, all with bgt.I want to thank the creator of the ultrarec class for making it easy to access some functions of the winmm.dll library.To use the script, it's quite simple:load: Loads a multimedia file. For example: test.mp3, music.wav or music.mid.Returns true if successful or false if error occurs.Play:  Play the previously loaded file, without waiting for the playback to finish.Returns true if you have been able to play or false otherwise.play_wait: It plays the previously loaded file and waits for the file to finish playing. Returns true if you have been able to play or false otherwise.is_playing: Returns true if the file is playing or false otherwise.Stop: For file playback. Returns true on success or false in case of an error.send_command: Sends an MCI command to execute. Returns a string containing the result. BGT games can see jaws, but it's the the game writers that has to tell bgt to checkfor jaws and it is the game writers that has to tell BGT what to do about jaws. Here is one BGT game that should work with jaws. Also, here is the source to the game. Yes, I converted it from basic, and did not change any of the text. I thought about adding sounds or something else, but I haven't got around to it. Anyway, I took the time to make sure it works with JAWS. It is worth noting that none of the screens that came up is the stander windows screens. I just used the default includes for those who know what those are.

Yes, well, about that ... I'm struggling to see how NVDA Remote can seriously compare at all well to a solution like the one FS provides, which hooks the RDP functionality in the OS or in Citrix. As things stand JAWS includes all the docs and tools for admins to set up both sides (server and client) of that exchange, and do it securely, too.Then again, it's NVDA that's making it to the cloud, and not JAWS. So really ubiquity of FLOSS is its own compelling argument. It's the same with Linux, as a whole--why do you think it rules the cloud, and not Windows?

My favourite example of a system that does this is Shadow Rine's. It plays a sort of wind sound when there's space in a given direction and another sound when there is a wall that way instead (but it will work from a distance, IE when the amount of space increases or decreases in a given direction, you don't have to be right next to the obstruction).

End of the month; I have a kitten purched atop my shoulder as I write this post.  I'm not sure exactly how it is she manages to stay comfortable with my shoulders moving slightly back and forth as I do everything it is I do on my PC, but I guess that's her business, and it's quite fun for me, so everyone's happy.  She's fallen asleep across both of them a couple of times now, and when she's not there, she's sitting on the back of my chair looking out the back door... BGT is, per say, jaws aware. The catch is that anything that is written in BGT has to check for jaws and take the correct action when a kee is pressed. That is a little extra work and I do not know if everyone who code with bgt is willing to take that extra step. You can do that by checking with a few lines of code, but still... The few lines of code would be basicly setting up a while loop and the like. Nothing to major

if someone made addons that let NVDA do hand holding and network installs over a lan, this may be then able to put VFO out of business with jaws. also ability to do grade2 input, skim reading and skim reading rules along with other powerful jaws features which could be useful if duplicated into NVDA.

at sito. Why do you use jaws? why not just use NVDA? I will not give VFO any of my money. NVDA is better and has the potential to put VFO out of business anyway. Especially if someone makes powerful addons duplicating stuff like jaws skim reading and rules, object reclass and graphics labelers, grade2 input for braille displays, client and server NVDA for installing over a lan local area network and more.

Haramir - This game won't run on windows XP. If you're running windows XP, upgrade, seriously, you shouldn't be running it and its a security nightmare. That would be my guess tbhStewie - I've been looking into the problem with the sound, I noticed it just yesterday. GMS doesn't allow sound panning for some unholy reason so I used panned sfx, but I think it doesn't work for some reason. Very frustrated over this development.  When it pans properly it's much more usable. I'm working on a hack workaround right now.So like a little jingle or sound that occurs when you come across an opening?Edit: I made an update to the system, should be updating the link soon. I'm putting priority on an event where I show off the game this weekend. wish me luck

Wouldn't've been taken out... but not a big deal. I'm part of the translation team, so something like that would've been noticed... but the game does mention somewhere about the camera, either in the tutorial or stage 1. This problem is literaerly impossible to fix without FS changing the way JAWS does keyboard hooking. As it stands, JAWS checks all the keys and then sends them back to Windows. And for apps that just use the Windows API this is fine. However for anything trying to access the keyboard  directly, like directX, what JAWS sends back is lost. So BGT installs its own keyhook, which gets around the problem of JAWS,  but as a result it doesn't know what keys are being pressed which is why you don't get speech interrupt.So as Dark said, the only thing you can do is either play using SAPI or with another screen reader until FS fixes this problem. And considering it's been around for many many years (this is why older audiogames told you to quit your Screen Reader, as most people did use JAWS at the time) it's unlikely you'll get a JAWS fix.

Personally I'd suggest just turning Jaws off and using Sapi or nvda, indeed back when I used Supernova as my screen reader I used Sapi all the time for games, these days it's either Sapi or Nvda. I believe this is a more general problem with jaws output and not one it'd be easy to solve with a script, particularly if this happens in all Bgt applications.

We're currently getting the processed VO files back from our VO editor—once we have enough I'm hoping to put together a little "Voices of Farhaven" demo reel to give you all a sneak peek of what to expect. I'm really beyond psyched about this voice cast, and love what they've done with all the different characters.Graphics are going to take a lot longer, which is part of why we've decided to do an audio-only release first, followed by a release with full graphics down the road. We're just finalizing the initial contract with our artist at present, but it will definitely take some time to get the assets prepared and then rendering properly in-game. But you can expect updates on that, and screenshots and other goodies to share with your sighted friends, as progress is made on that front.

Hello all admins,This is really becoming a problem, and it's irritating the hell out of me. I really should use an ad blocker, I know, but I don't. Anyway, why the hell does the site have ads that absolutely no one is going to click on? For instance:aclk sa=L=Cja0kTzUoWeODNdac…I put those HTML tags in there just to show you that there were three frames inside one another. Here's what I'm wondering though -- why are there frames anyway? Ads? This site is supposed to promote games and accessibility, yet we put ads on here that constantly update and make navigation sometimes impossible because it's moving your cursor all over the place. If this site is truly dedicated to accessibility then these ads really, really need to go and never come back.

@6 and 7, try Sophos. Don't use Windows Defender -- ever. Sophos always scans your computer for viruses, and, if found, will immediately detect it and delete it. If it thinks that it has a virus but the program it thinks is a virus really isn't, it'll put an alert in the Sophos UI that you can choose to ignore or get rid of. I'd say choose Immunet too, but... it's not that accessible.

Yeah, I was meaning foes' ambience sounds during combat like monsters' roars, wolvs' howls, zombies and ghosts' moans, animals and creatures' simple body movment noises, birds' whoops and wings fluttering etc. And I do agree, it'll be way better if we have a master sound volume slider that controls everything, rather than controling or turning off-on each sound individually to avoid difference and contradiction between sounds except music and tts.

@Defender, glad you like the debug mode and independent stuff, I like the idea of the settings being saved cause that sounds annoying as hell, but to be honest I don't know how I can do it without somekind of installer, unless I had the game generate the settings files if there aren't any there by default and then it would only create default settings if you didn't already have your preset text file settings there, this would work provided you dragged and dropped the install to the same directory and overwrote the previous game@Diegogaribay, Well can't have too many new players, hope you're enjoying the game! there is a download link in the button that says website below my name, in regards to the ascii and animations you just disable them in the main menu at the start of the game @John, I've got the current live download link as my website,

 I know it's cliche but pretty much anything is possible, I like ideas that may seem hard or impossible because they will make the game even more unique, I want to do things never done before And glad you like the graveyard, 'My sex life' is also one of those, but in my defense, I was going through a dry patch haha.@Lucas1853, Very good suggestion, I will look into having that as an option because I just had a battle of over 2 million units fighting eachother and it took a good 30 minutes to stop, and that's ridiculous! in regards to the demon thing... fuck, I'll have to look into that further, and finally in regards to the skipping turns thing, there is a cheat called 331 that allows you to do just that, you enter the number of years you want to skip and you can time travel them just seeing the turn reports of each year And yeah for now kings are immortal as hell!  but it will change at some point!

There is the Thunder TM somewhere in the powerplant I believe. Do know however that it has 30% chance of missing, unless you combine it with rain dance.Edit: Actually the Rock Smash TM is obtained by defeating the Viridian gym.

So far I'm finding the navigation system really unclear. When I walk towards a wall, all I hear is a sound panned left regardless of the direction of the wall I'm walking into. There are footstep echoes that play in the direction of walls, but since you move like 30 in a given direction if you hold the arrow for a second you can miss openings very easily.I think it would be much more usable if the game notified you when your surroundings change. For example if you are walking along a wall to your north and there is an opening, the game could play some kind of notification sound  from that direction.
