Re: Honest discussion, why pay for and use jaws over free screen readers?

For me, JAWS has a few good things about it.* The developement team are full time, paid employees with at least some structure, I'd hope. They also probably haven't changed much over the years.* JAWS is a single package, that has enough scripts to do most things an employee needs to do.* JAWS stands for Job Access with Speech. This means, to m at least, that it is more geared to employment and use by people on the job. This means JAWS can't be sluggish with Microsoft Office, should read things in an *efficient* manner, and should be as configurable as possible for meeting the needs of employees who use it.Now, to me, NVDA works fine because I know how to use it well and what addons to get. I load it with good sounding voices, because Microsoft's Windows 10 voices have aweful pauses and boring entonation, and all they have done so far is patch Narrator to not pause for so long. I have the clock addon to keep up with the time, and use programs that work well with NVDA.But a JAWS user, some one who may have just gotten hired, would want to be *productive* and *efficient* in their work, not hunting down an addon and using an obscure program to get something just about good enough. No. They want to get to work, and they need a screen reader that is ready to work as hard as they do.Now, I don't agree with their pricing, they just love to have money and they know that bisunesses and governments will give it to them. But for home use, NVDA. Jobs, use what wis effective for the job.One thing I've learned, through giving my computer multiple operating system disorder from switching from Windows to Linux to another Linux and Windows to Linux... Is that you shouldn't use something just because of ideology, especially if you have a disability. Sighted people could use Linux just fine, even in work situations most likely, if they stick with Debian or something. But for blind people, use what is effective and efficient and gets the job done well, not something where you have to fiddle around and learn markdown or LaTex or Org-mode and set up Gnus or Mutt or Seamonkey or fiddle with Thunderbird's compacting settings and make it not hog resources and such, taking valuable time when you could just be getting your work done. This is why I used a Mac during my internship as an Assistive Technology Instructor: I knew it well, could fly through email, write documents well in Pages, and had a Windows machine to use NVDA with Google Docs with because Google and Apple aren't on such great terms. All in all, at home, use NVDA, give them some money if you can, and learn stuff. But on the job, focus on the job, use what makes you fast, effective, and efficient.

I think it is a matter of getting used to the scream reader for example, you have used Jaws for lets say 4 years. In most cases you will find it a bit hard to get back to NVDA. About the Jaws i actually have a lisance for the 2018 version, problem hear with the schools lisance in my area is it only is supported for a year and then they will have to pay again for a upgrdation which will take sevrle years mabey or when Jaws the version you are on is no longer supported. That is when they will upgrade Jaws for the user.

Re: Honest discussion, why pay for and use jaws over free screen readers?

To answer the OP's question:1) I didn't find equally good voices on NVDA. Now while some people might say they don't care and some might say they love the voices on NVDA, I prefer more natural voices like the Vocalizer Expressive ones. To me, if I'm gonna hear a voice talking to me all day long, it better be good. Plus I use a French voice and an English one and I like how I can quickly switch between the two voice profiles because I switch all the time. I'm pretty sure this must be possible too with NVDA, but I didn't find how IIRC last time I tried.2) I find the onbaording easier with jaws. You launch JAWS, next, next, next, install. Then there is a configuration wizard to quickly setup jaws and voila, you have a very good screen-reader out of the box. Now I agree that while there is a ton of options and configurations, it's somewhat painful to dive in the settings center and you most often than not have to guess what you are looking for in the search bar. When I tried NVDA, there was not enough options for me, I couldn't customize it to my liking. Perhaps I needed to install addons, but I find it particularly painful to go seek addons, find what I'm looking for, install it and stuff. I'd prefer that the official addons could be a list of checkbox during the installation and ask which ones you want.Is it worth the money? I don't know, for me it's free versus free and I got enrolled in the jaws propaganda when I was young and naive. Would I pay $1000 for jaws? Probably not at first. I'd really power try NVDA and if I really go nuts about NVDA, I'd buy a jaws licence before breaking my computer apart. Though I think iI'd get used to NVDA very quickly and it also depends how much money I would make in that hypothetic situation .Welp, that's pretty much it. I don't see other differences, but voice is important to me. Also, I'm not qualified to say if jaws is more responsive than NVDA or the other way around, I'm just saying what drawback I had when trying NVDA for a few weeks.

Re: Honest discussion, why pay for and use jaws over free screen readers?

I am an NVDA user. When I tried using Jaws, I felt like it was eating at my system more than NVDA was.  Additionally, the screen resolution limitation is a huge downer for me, due to the software I use requiring, in some cases, 1080p minimal resolution (Superior Drummer 3).As for office related stuff, I don't use Microsoft Office, but a free program called Open Office.  It has alot of, if not all the same capabilities as Microsoft Office, and can even read/write documents in MS format, is free, and works very well with NVDA, at least for me.As for music, I use Reaper, because using outdated Sonar with Caketalking scripts, which are equally outdated, doesn't appeal to me.   I found, for my applications, Reaper has done everything I ever needed it to, plus some, and NVDA is the home of SIBIAC which is an awesome add-on that makes a lot of very useful VST plugins accessible in a very unique way.Everyone is going to have something that works best for them, and in my case, it's NVDA.  Not saying I will hate Jaws, because Jaws is the first screen reader I ever learned how to use back when I was in high school, and shortly after; even when I could see, I always had low vision, so I would actually test myself, and use Jaws with my monitor off, just to get the proper feel of it, so  for me, I do have to say thank you to Jaws for getting me started with Screen readers, but in the end, I ended up jumping ships to better fit my needs.

Re: Honest discussion, why pay for and use jaws over free screen readers?

@38, it's funny, because I asked Rajesh Jha, the executive vice-president of experiences and devices at Microsoft that exact same question: why they didn't acquire Freedom Scientific to then have all those highly qualified accessibility engineers and why they were putting their money on narrator instead. Although I don't think it's confidential, I'm not sure I'm allowed to say everything he answered me because it was kind of a private Q, but I wasn't really satisfied with his answer anyway, he definitely has a lot of work to do and discussions about a whole ton of subjects that I didn't expect him to have the answer, but basically, I'd say it has to do with security and the mirror driver thing. He told me something interesting though. I asked him why accessibility, why were they investing so much in accessibility. He told me that sometimes, they do an accessibility feature that turns out to be a feature sighted people like too. He gave the example of speech synthesis reading incoming messages/e-mails, he said it turned out be be super useful for drivers in cars because they could hear their messages without having to look at the screen. Now obviously, it's kind of a nice answer, but it's one way he looks at it.However, I also went to Microsoft's accessibility summit and I think it was open to everybody so I guess there is no secret here. I asked the guy in charge of narrator your same question after a talk on narrator's new features. He told me that they were aiming a lot towards multiplatform, they were already showcasing narrator on Xbox, so obviously you couldn't port jaws to Xbox, it would be a nightmare. I then asked him if they were collaborating with jaws even though they were working on their own screen-reader and he told me "we are collaborating very closely, very closely.".In the end, and this is my own opinion, it's a question of visibility (no pun intended) and money. It's expensive to do an acquisition and the upper management have other stuff to do. They care about accessibility, they really do, whether it's for complyance or empathy, although I'd say it's probably a bit more of the latter because of a ton of reasons. However, a company has to make money, I mean shareholders always want the famous double digit growth. While I'd personally love to see Micrrosoft acquire Freedom Scientific must it only be to get those awesome engineers, I'd probably not do it if I were the CEO, because it does not make a lot of sense money-wise.

Re: Trimps

Ok, I played the game quite a bit now. I love it and it's very playable, but here are some things I noticed / ideas.First off, I play with jaws, it seems to play better with NVDA, I guess it's because greensatellite is testing with it or because NVDA works better in chrome or because they use the virtual cursor to navigate DOM differently and it turns out that NVDA manages it better, I don't know.So the log updates tends to make my focus shiver. It happened to me more than once that say I wanted to buy the dagger, but the log updated and my focus moved on the shield and I bought the shield. Another thing that makes my focus move is the text update on the buttons. Say I buy the dagger, and now I can't buy another one, the text on the button changes to not affordable and it usually makes my focus go back to the shield. When there is a lot of logging, my focus is getting really crazy. However, this only happens to the DOM after the log itself, since it's the log that is updating. If I'm above the log, say in the wood or science section, no problem at all. This is why I'd preferred the log to be at the bottom of the page so I could just go to the end of the page and go up to read it. What do you think guys?Another issue is that I noticed with NVDA there is a "End of log" heading, but jaws doesn't detect that heading. it jumps straight from "Trimps" to "Build", weird! I don't know what could be causing this, I didn't look at the source, is there something different with that heading compared to the other ones? Is it hidden? Also, it happens sometimes that I cannot click some clickable elements. Never happened with buttons, but it happens with the "Build" heading and the "world" or "maps". It doesn't happen all the time, sometimes I press enter multiple times and it works, but some other times it just will never work, I have to launch NVDA and go click it. Part of the issue is probably caused by the tooltip being over some element I want to click. I still can access with jaws the text behind the tooltip, but sometimes the interaction with those hidden elements get messed up.The achieves screen works great, but there is something bothering me. When I'm on a cell in the grid, it tells me the progress of the not completed achievement in that row, even if I'm on a completed achievement cell. Don't know if it's a bug, but I'd prefer to read the progress of the achievement I'm focusing, not the progress of another achievement on that row. For instance, I'd like it to read "Completed, clear 30 total zones" and if I move right "Not completed, 35/70, clear 70 total zones". Currently, it would read something like "Completed, 35/70, Clear 30 total zones". It's just an example to illustrate what I mean, I don't want the text to be exactly what I wrote, I like the way it's reading tiers and everything, it's just to show what I mean. Because, I don't know what happens if there are multiple not completed achievements on the row, which progress will it read out to me?Oh and if people are wondering why I'm not using NVDA, I'm more used to jaws and I didn't find cool voices for NVDA and I don't know all the nifty tricks to be fast with NVDA, but that is a whole different debate. @greensatellite, just so you know, it's not rare to see flame wars between screen-readers, some say one is better than another and it's like a war of cults, the cult of NVDA and the cult of jaws. Some people use both, some people don't care, some people use other screen readers, etc. It's just like people argue over Android versus iOS and Windows versus MAC versus Linux.Anyways, that is all for me... for now.

Re: Pokemon Mud

I really need to try this mud again.  I played, but then stopped after a bit, getting distracted with Pokemon Showdown, and then by other stuff.   The application process is honestly not that hard, other than waving down an admin to review.  If last I remember before I left, they had up to gen 6 pokemon in, and probably already have gen 7 worked on.       there's not exactly quests, outside of rp events that come up.  However, the gyms are a unique.  You have to do 4 consecutive battles with a limited inventory provided to you (so no potion spamming in the trainer fight).  After you complete this, you can then challenge the gym leader.  However, the gym leaders are actually other players who earned and applied for the role.  So right, don't expect the same type of ease in the mainstream games, dealing with 6 v 6 gym fights helmed by a player.  Granted, I don't think they use their own pokemon but ones the gym owns, though don't quote me on that.  Also, I believe no items can be used during the gym battle against the leader.   So if you were someone that got through the main games just overpowering your opponent and spamming unlimited items, you're going to have to now git gud.    Though rp is optional, at the end of fairly lengthy rp sessions, your time is rewarded with cash rewards and an award points system used to buy special perks, which range from a nature reassignment, to an iv booster, and up to triggering events for legendary pokemon to appear for capture.  So if you want to keep a pokemon you like, but wanted  different nature and better iv stats to survive gym/elite four battles you might want to consider doing a bit of rp.      I might go back to this one and try the game out again.

Re: Upcoming Free Accessible Sound Design Course

@38 It's going to begin with giving everyone a good, solid knowledge of EQing. I have all sorts of filters and effects but EQ is what makes a sound absolutely shine, it's the only process I use on every single thing that I do, and it's the only way to balance sounds in layers (apart from sidechain ducking and such but that will come later too). Another really big thing EQing will do for us is, it will double the amount of usable sounds on FreeSounds because we'll be able to clean up sounds with noise or edit out certain distortions. So once we're complete superstars with EQ which will probably take a few weeks, then we'll move on to other stuff like compressors, recording, monster sounds, etc.

Yeah I agree, if it's possible, then only allowing the dev to post updates to a new releases topic, and then having a topic for well, discussing the game (in the general game discussion room) would really be the best of both worlds.

Re: Warsim, text based randomly generated stratogy

Ambience for more areas, that's like, tons of sounds right there especially if you get into unique spots like the fruit farm or demon worshipper's camp, villages, cities, , ruins, the guilds, forts, but maybe start with the kingdom buildings first, and consider reusing sounds when things are very similar.Little sounds for various events in the throne room might be nice, E.G. a guy peeing on a wall, a "badump...chink" sound for jokes, a throat clearing sound for pay rises, execution sounds, what ever you want really. But unfortunately you couldn't do general events as they don't show up in dialogs but all together with other stuff at end of turn, which would be potentially overwhelming.Sounds for the minigames, and not only dice rolls, but this would include not just tavern/gester ones but the knight's climbing too.Sounds for buying/handling the various artifacts, success sounds of some kind for passing tests in the learning guild, really the possibilities are endless and sound can almost always accompany text in any given  situation.

2019-03-08 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — General Game Discussion : david_solomon1 via Audiogames-reflector

Re: Final Fantasy Record Keeper Accessibility

I'm assuming you mean realm dungeons. From the home screen, tap near the bottom left middle of the screen. About the same place the book of trials was, but at the left edge. Now you'll be on the realm dungeons page. You probably only have FFVI unlocked at this point, but swiping left and right changes the realm. Left goes higher in number. Touching the center of the screen enters the realm painting. From here you can turn VO on to select a dungeon. Then if you go to headings in your roter, you will find a heading with the name of that dungeon. Then will be the level and total stamina of the dungeon, followed by prologue, rewards and boss tabs you can use to get information about the dungeon. Selecting enter will take you to the party screen. From here you do any party management, press next and select a roaming warrior. Then press go.From here you're on the dungeon map. You need to turn VO back off for most of this. In the upper right hand corner is cammsite, a screen that VO can read. Tap the back button, always in the bottom left corner on every screen, to get back to the map. On the right toward the bottom is retreat. Again, VO can read the options once activated. On the left edje are the dungeon icons. Most realm dungeons have 3 battles; bottom, middle and top. The map scrols as you complete them, and VO can read the screen after you select a map icon, which just tells you the name of the battle you're entering as well as how much stamina will be spent. Activate begin battle to start. This game takes a lot of dedication to learn, but it is very worth it. Be careful in the old topic though, as a lot of things changed in a recent interface update a couple years ago. I can tell you this though. I've been playing for almost a year now and though it takes memorization and patience, the feeling of tapping around randomly quickly goes away.

i don't actually like it, because of its stats.and i love HYDRAKE.by trading, you can get it early in the game.and pool, i like vizell for only it's trap moves that i don't really need to use them. but i don't like vizell because of it's lack of good moves, and only the trapping moves can't help you during the game.and post 4actually, you can tell your party here, commonly, i have used hydrake, polases and some times PANDORBIT and the INCHANDITHOL.but try with different manamon, because it will give you a lot of knowledge about every manamon.when i played manamon for the first time, i defeated the irrodiom without any ice types, only magic type that i used was the mondaval and it was hitting it only about 26 hp with the horrar master.then, when i tried different manamon in the different playthroughs of the manamon, then i came to know about every manamon.

Re: Lightweight OpenAL Python Wrapper

Therein lies part of the problem, if you don't know how many sounds you'll need, how can you plan to not go over? Figuring out one helps solve the other. Depending on the kind of sounds though, you could try layering them over time so they play intermittently. For example a door ping that plays every 2 seconds, and inbetween the times it plays could be other sounds so they don't overlap each other.Something else to consider is maybe not to worry too much about any arbitrary limit, well other than the 256 one maybe, and deal with any problems people may have on deployment as they come, if any. Afterall, your not going to deploy this on mobile or Xbox right?

There are gyms that you can challenge, and trainer battles happen randomly if I'm remembering correctly. I think there are settings so that you can adjust what you're hunting for, whether you want trainer battles included, etc. and as far as how many pokemon are in the game, I'm not sure about that one, but I know it had up to generations I'm not familiar with, but I'm only knowledgeable about the first 4. Also, pokemon level up and learn moves similar to the mainstream games, and you can asign moves as well.

I fully agree.   I kind of wonder if everything we have in mind is even possible. For example, if we have topics close after a set amount of time, the developer may have to make new topics for every update. Maybe it should be specified that one topic is for updates, and the other topic is for discussion, each in their respective rooms.

Re: Lightweight OpenAL Python Wrapper

Well, how many sounds to you intend to play in a given area, and how wide is that area? Do some sounds have a louder area of effect than others? For example you could have a few very loud sounds that you can hear over a wide area, and a bunch of quieter sounds that play within a small area. Because of their smaller play area it would be harder for the user to get too many smaller sounds playing at once because of their limited proximity. But this also depends on the kind of game your trying to make.In the case of the ill fated AudioRTS, I used a tile based system and assigned X number of players in a radius around the cursor, manually adjusting their volume based on how far away from the cursor they were to create an area of effect.

Why should he reconsider? The game's other dev is pretty much going off the fucking handle? Look, SBYW is cool but if the developers are that unstable to the point where a simple joke gets you banned from the server...nah, lets not continue the game?

Re: Broken link to Top Speed 3

Please report the broken links, if they're not cases where the developer has gone belly up we can usually fix them. In the case of topspeed 3, as Slender said, the file has been moved to Github.I've updated the download link on the db page and it now works fine.

Re: Trimps

2019-03-08 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — New releases room : Dark via Audiogames-reflector

Re: Trimps

@Green satellite, would it please be possible to have a slightly more dynamic status on the job buttons to show when you couldn't afford them, vs didn't have the workers? That would make it easier to decide whether it was better to move one of your miners/farmers/lumberjacks to trainer or explorer, rather than try and  some accommodation, and one issue I keep running into is  spending too much on building the accommodation and then not having enough left to recruit for a while. Indeed, I've got into  habit of leaving one work space open just so that I can more quickly know when I can recruit another trainer.@keithwipf1  the game is awesome. Its an odd one for me, since I've never been a fan of fire and forget combat  where you have no control over what happens, and while I've enjoyed a few incremental games in the past, once I've seen all the upgrades and flavour text I tend to lose interest, which is why I haven't played games like sworm game or space company beyond the first ascension, or shark game beyond the first few ascenssions when I'd seen most everything  there was to see. Then again I freely admit, ever since I first played castaways, the strategy building genre has always appealed to me (at least when it isn't a pvp hack), I love to see my people survive and  grow and build from humble beginnings to a mighty empire. I also love games that require the player to continually strategise on the fly and react to what is happening or change their play style to accomplish a given goal, especially when that  leads to more exploration. this is why i think I've found trimps so very addictive, and why I'd highly recommend the game, that and the awesome job Green Satellite is doing with the game's accessibility. Things were getting tough around zone 37 and I could see myself running into a situation where I would be getting new upgrades before I'd been able to afford the previous ones. I also didn't realise that respecking your perks only applied to the amount of helium you started the run with. I suppose this is good in progression terms, since it'd be a bit disappointing to get say to zone 32, cash in 300 or so helium, then need to portal at zone 35 with only another 90 helium to play with before starting the next run, but it mean that when the going gets tough you really are best cashing in your chips and restarting. Anyway, I've now gone through yet another portal, and am attempting the size challenge. This is an interesting one, but my perks are really making a difference, indeed had I not had to put the game down to spend an evening with my lady I probably would've  another speed achievement for the block and maybe for the wall, but hay, there will always be another turn. I hope I get further this time around, I  heard some hints about later progressions and I'm really looking forward to seeing them. One thing I do wish the game had, was an auto storage buying system, since its not always %100 faesable to be playing all the time, and one can't always buy enough storage to keep up with time you might be spending off the game, so it'd be nice if there was an automatic mechanism to buy extra storage when your current storage got full, just so that you don't lose out on too much progress when you need to take time away from the game.of course, idling in Trimps can only carry you so far and the best stratogy is always to play actively, and I like the fact that Trimps is an incremental game  which requires you to play very actively , but obviously there is the rest of life as well .

Re: Scrolling Battles, You're World, online platforming exploration game

Coming in hot@post 404. Ah well. So it seems like you ain't the only one being banned for the most retarded reasons. Micky mouse, is alokin. He's been rather uneasy for the last few days, fore he banned me just for saying stuff about how mason was going to get backlash from the community and was going to come back like 4 or 5 years later again. They just can't either make up their minds, or accept the truth as it is. And the worsed thing is that mason got a willing 34 people to pay and care, but even that's not enough for him... I suppose.@post 403, I see no need to remove those posts. They have full right to complain. If the moderators are going to take our right from the forum, then I'm starting to get a feeling that you won't be able to say mouse in a year or 2. So yeah.Either way, here's my own rant. I've mostly said it in anyauio clips, and I couldn't post those things here because people would get all ass hurt if I did, but yeah. Mason just seems to have no if little regard. I mean, that game existed for years, got massive updates which made it worth it, got paid donations, optional, donations, let's not forget to say, but it all came to this again. And there goes another thing of his all because he felt like it and what can we as a community do? Nothing. It is after all, "His personal property"...Here's stuff broken down into detail with chats from ns himself. He seems to be a load on mason's side here...First we have personal property.mik: he is being selfish. right. because this game belongs to the community and isn't personal property. you people are funny. While this in it's own is true, he tells me something else that made me realize mason.mik: we talked. he said he is not gonna do anything for the community anymore. I offered to take over stuff including SBYW, he said SBYW is going down, other stuff are staying on, and you can update if you want. So, other stuff, the stuff that got the least attention is staying up? So if we hadn't given SBYW that much attention it would have stayed up? Ahem then... And then the hole donation thing happens.mik: this is also paid donation just like chSo I told him he was in a way making people waste money and he says.mik: waisted money? how did they waist their money. they wanted full inventory worth of stuff, they got full inventoryRight, so we get an inventory, I get it, but what, do we like somehow manage to do things with these items when the game dies?fire star: what, let's take this awesome fucking hook that, oh wait don't work anymore right right. And next he tries, or at least looks like he tries to troll us.mik: next thing you're gonna say is give me sounds, and give me source.I can't help agree with this one chat right here.shadow: its just the fact he's taking it down because of one or a few individuals when a whole community is enjoying itAnd if that ain't enough...shadow: no one is assuming, we are annoyed that a great project is being taken down and without any sort of say and with a lot of public drama when theres still a lot of people who care about itSo he got attention again, it dies again. Anything new?And I'm sorry but this is nonsense...ABoner: so is he gonna fix 2dp so my map works in it then if he doesn't want to let us use sbyw?mik: what part of he's done with the community don't you understandSo basicly he's saying that even though mason had a 2dp, he isn't willing to make it work for SBYW maps even though it has a converter in it already and a rewrite in beta stages. So this has affected him on his offline projects as well. And then somebody had to say it.ABoner: dude I'd just turn off my twitter and say, if you don't like it, get the fuck out. I used to care way way too much what people thought of me, but I then realized those who hate have problems of there ownI can't disagree. Especially since he's obviously been through the hole ordeal before haven't you mason? So eventually he couldn't stand it anymore and ns turned off chats. He then said, with chats off, mik: and don't you dare continue this shit in pm's or I'm banning. I'm tired of this.So he's not willing to listen. Anything new?I can't help but agree with yet another chat.shadow: at least in america, there's this thing called freedom of speech. Which clearly there aren't a lot of places where we are exactly getting it. And this isn't SBYW on it's own, either. Also there's this.shadow: I mean people are offering to take over the project and that somehow is wrong for wanting to keep something great goingshadow: is it though? we hve given money for this project. and while it may be his project it is a community of people and ideas that should remain so, its sad otherwise and not fair to the people who have spent a ton of time on hereWow man.Another example that has come around more than once.mik: and the project will not be sold as far as I'm concerned. I'd gladly take over it, and I am open to the idea,

Re: Why is new releases filled with huge game discussion topics?

My only worry with basically turning the new releases room into the articles room, I.e only topic posting and no replies, is that it would be less friendly for new developers who might want to repeatedly discuss their game and announce updates in the same place, especially when making smaller changes that don't warrent a full version. Also what happens when a developer is posting a test version for people to just have a look at or an audio demo or something of the like? That's why I'd personally opt for a timed closure system if at all possible.

Icecast questions

Hello all,I have a couple of Icecast questions. Here they are in no particular order.1. How do I encrypt all Icecast streams using https?2. How do I add another source? For example, how would I set it up to stream with a different username and password if I wanted to let someone else stream to the server without giving out the regular source username and password?3. Is it possible for Icecast to serve static files? I read about this somewhere, but I thought the primary purpose of Icecast was to stream audio from a streamer to the server and then to connected clients.

And I'm thinking of things like having a menue driven system for building things possibly as an option for making items. The world will run in real time by the way with day and night cycles.

Re: Final Fantasy Record Keeper Accessibility

Yes, once you learn where everything is. For instance, on the books of trials screen, the books are layed out in 2 rows of 3. Where it probably wants you to tap is around the bottom middle of the screen. So go about an inch up from the bottom and try there. I thought you could only tap the book the tutorial wanted you to look at, but I guess I was wrong about that. After the tutorial there's a lot less need to turn VO off. Mostly just in battle or to select icons on the home screen. There are a couple of other instances but about 80 percent of the text in the game reads with VO.

Re: Narwhal - android desktop remote control

actually, button mapper might work, as it intercepts key events, which are the same for bluetooth and physical keyboards. If it doesn't I can remap another key from the app. So, is there anything I should do for better chrome os support, or that windows key is the only thing?

Looking to improve field recording quality.

2019-03-08 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — Off-topic room : Donavin . Liebgott via Audiogames-reflector

Looking to improve field recording quality.

Hi everyone, so I don't know how many of you guys do field recording, but I do have a question.I currently own a Zoom H4NPro, it's a nice little recorder and it's onboard microphones are good and can handle quite a lot of SPL, but they are a little noisy however. My question is, is there any way I can improve my audio quality, by either using a pre amp,an external microphone or both? And what should I go for, XLR or 3.5mm miniplug? And also, I would prefer stereo micing, preferably from 90 degrees and wider. And I am from South Africa, and I do realize that things might get a little pricey. However, not looking for the top gun, just something decent to get me started.I do have sound professionals mics that I use, but with the builtin recorder pre amps, things get noisy, and I don't really like noise.Any comments or critasism will be appreciated.

Re: Final Fantasy Record Keeper Accessibility

Two things. Does it get easier to play after the tutorial? I seem to just be pressing around hopefully trying to find things on the screen when voiceover's off. For example I can't find the book of trials and am stuck pressing hopefully and usually choosing the wrong book.

Yes. There will be a screw button at the bottom of the web page. If you're in the lead you won't get one.

Problem with microsoft office2010

2019-03-08 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — Off-topic room : burak via Audiogames-reflector

Problem with microsoft office2010

Hello,I had microsoft office2010 starter come with my computer. I made a mistake and uninstalled it then I installed 2003 instead. I thought it was the time to switch to new docx format so I found some installer from the internet, that downloaded microsoft office2010 starter. I installed the Turkish language pack on it. Now my office interface is half English half Turkish. I want it to be full English or Turkish. I selected office 2010 language tools to be installed in the language pack installer but it didn't install. How would I make it so it at least disables the Turkish interface but still keep the dictionaries so I can spell check?I know it's complicated, but would be happy if you can offer a salution. Thanks

Re: heroes rise text guides?

I would say that, at least for the first game, it is literally all black and white and that's a problem. This changed in the second and third games and for the spinoffs, but in the first game there are often only 2 or 3 choices and sometimes they are directly based off of your stats, with one choice being unavailable. As for the strategy guides I'm not sure, you could try OCR on the pictures.
