@13 I'll definitely concede as I did in #17 that some libraries can make avoiding type casting such a pain that the effort required can make it not worth it. I haven't used type ORM, but it might well be the case. the library I came into such a problem was MaterialUI, but was able to avoid type casting in the end, though got close to breaking my own rule.yeah, it is actually quite possible that such verification libraries use type casting at the lowest level. so that could be a valid use case that I will concede. although once you have a library like that, you don't need to use type casting again, unless you run up against some horribly typed library.my main gripe with type casting isnot that it is used to implement some library that needs it because its whole jam is verifying complex types for you, but that 80% of typescript developers use it all over the place, where it is unnecessary and makes the code more brittle. from what I have seen so far that is 99% of the time I have seen type casting being used.aside, I don't think such a verification a library needs to do any copying, it should just pass back the object unmodified, since they are assumed to be used for json, which doesn't support functions, just plain data.

It could be a bug, but I can't remember all of what you have to do to fix it. There's this thing where the Microphone volume will get set to zero, and I forget if it's a Windows thing or malware. I know the first step is to go into Task Manager and kill a bunch of processes, I want to say pchost.exe, but don't quote me. The problem is that it's hard to find what you need, and when you do it's pretty much all in Youtube videos with no narration of the steps whatsoever. I think it only happens under Windows 10. If the usual stuff like disabling enhancements and turning off automatic level adjustments and such doesn't help, let me know and I'll see if I can dig it up, or maybe somebody here knows what I'm talking about and can tell us all how to fix it.

@9 I actually fully agree badly-typed libraries and other members on the team that for whatever reason don't use typing well are a barrier to this. particularly libraries that were designed as js and then had types tacked on can be pretty bad. a lot of the times it isn't even that they can't be typed well, but whoever wrote the type declaration file didn't fully know what they were doin. happened to me with MaterialUI. event types on a lot of widgets just didn't have type written well for some event types. that was the closest I came to just using type casting, but in the end figured out how to preserve type safety in that instance. however, I can definitely imagine there are some libraries that are so badly typed that you might not be able to avoid it, but hasn't happened to me yet. but it is a totally fair point.I feel your point on rust and haskell and open unions might be off topic. but I might be missing how type casting and open unions relate. Hello: The issue that you are referring to, i.e. staying stuck on initializing keyrings, was due to a bug in the .zlogin file effecting the case check for x86_64, where the call to pacman-key would treat the list of keys as a literal filename rather than two separate arguments. Several revisions of the 2021.02.14 iso were produced yesterday, the latter of which fixed this bug. The latest iso dated 2021.02.15 fixes this issue, allows unattended raspberry pi builds and contains fixes for the wifi ssid and password extraction from /proc/cmdline, as well as attempts to fix the rapid spawning of getty processes, causing erroneous parallel initial unattend processing.

I wouldn't use audacity for multitracking though, I would use reaper. I can do just about anything I can do in goldwave in reaper, but I prefer goldwave for some things. The biggest thing is making nice tight loops is so much easier in goldwave.

pros of goldWaveGoldWave is overall simpler than audacity because GoldWave doesn't have any multitracking capabilities. I do have it installed because  I like its auto preview feature better than the reaper media explorer, mainly because reaper takes forever to open up because  I haven't bought it so I  have to wait to cancel the nag screen. There's a section intthe GoldWave manual about accessibility, and there's also an NVDA addon that gives you a few extra convenience commands. Of particular note is the directX effect support which gives you access to dx chorus, flanger, phaser and a few other cool things; time warp, which has some of the better time stretching algorithms I've seen, and pan, which lets you move a sound in the stereo field. Which brings me to another thing that's cool about goldWave, accessible envelopes. This is pretty much a way to draw a parametric line. For example, for pan, you might say that at 2 seconds I want it to be totally center, then at 4 seconds I want it to start moving to the right and thne at 7 seconds it should be 20% right, and you can do this by entering 3 points on the envelope and then goldwave will do the necessary calculations. Pretty neat. It's another reason why I have goldWave available, as I have sometimes really benefited from envelope effect work.ConsSingle track editing. Though it makes the interface simpler, single track editing feels a lot like training wheels on a bike. It makes it easier to learn in the beginning but there's a whole lot that single tracking won't let you do, and then you'll have to work a bit to unlearn the single tracking habits. Also, when you edit in GoldWave, you are doing what's called destructive editing. If you save the file, you don't have a copy of the file before being saved. Contrast this with Audacity, who's multitracking forces Audacity to make what are called audacity projects for each job. These project files preserve the original material, and you then run an encoder once you have finished all your work to output the finished edits as a  standard audio file instead of an audacity project. I can't stress the power of multitracking. If you haven't done it before and you start now, you will never want to single track again.Audacity's effects pallet is different from GoldWaves. Some of the effects where it has a huge advatnage are the equaliezr, which has 30 bands, all of which are accessible, so it's really easy to cut out that one annoying frequency or frequency range. I also far prefer its noise removal, reverb, compressor, and high/lowpass filters to GoldWave's versions.

I will say that depending on the operation, this is *not* good if someone tries to install this on a bare metal system with an SSD as the primary drive. Hell, I don't know how constantly rewriting the VM's disk file affects the host but yeah. I remember when I itried to install this on my laptop, it was literally rewriting packages to disk in an endless loop. luckily, that was a mechanical drive.

Grind a little, unless your team is epic and wrecks stuff due to great moves at low levels. Here are my quick tips for that.First stadium: have at least one manamon at level 14-15; it's easy if that's the manamon you rely on for most fights, less so if you're trying for a full team of six at this point.Post first stadium: take the time and grind a level or two in the route south of Konduin. Power Plant: Definitely grind vs. the electric types, another level or two; magic and earth types have a field day in here. Watch out for your air and water types.Cave: Grind here; trust me. There are plenty of tamers, and the wild manamon are really not all that dangerous. I usually aim for my team to be around level 17 before I get out of here, at a minimum.Second stadium: Crush it any way you know how.Polar Preserve: stone, flame, fighting, steel, holy and potentially ghost types have a field day here. I try and grind the whole team up to level 20-22 here.Shadow Canyon: more variety here, so just gain a level apiece.Castle: Definitely bust out your effective mons, since the castle is full of ghost and undead manamon. You want to be level 23-24 when you face Master Dyaz.Route Roshaw/Brytanberg Wilderness: Fight all the tamers; you want to be level 27-28 before you fight Hyper Symphonid. It's okay if not every manamon is this high a level, but at least half your team should be.Brytanburg: The prairie is a good grinding spot for most manamon. Whack the stadium; aim for roughly level 30-31.Dyeur Hills: another potentially good grinding spot, and plenty of tamers. Aim for level 33.Desert: if you're behind, this is the chance to catch up. I aim for level 35-36 before fighting the dragon.Sulee: A little grinding out west of the city, aim for level 36 for most members of your team.Ogma's Hideout: aim for level 38 before entering, level 40-41 by the time you finish.Rainforest: Don't grind too much here unless you have a water type that's fallen behind, or have a serious weakness you can pray on (air, ice, etc).Benjamin: Aim for level 42 across the board.Plateau: Another place to gain a level or three for anyone who's behind.Studio: Aim for level 43 for everyone when you start, you'll probably have level 45-46 across the board when you're done.Requia: Grind a level or two in Chinkon Hill.Underground: I don't grind here, though you can. Level 48-ish when you fight Byron.Hinterland: If you can, try to hit level 50-51 before the frosty elephant.End of the world: Be level 52-53 for LRP; if you've got any weak mons (below level 40-45), ditch them once and for all, or catch them up; no excuses at this point, the whole team has to be able to either deal respectable damage or tank hits (or both, that works too).You should be level 58-60 by the time you finish with Requia. Tackle the final three in whichever order you want.Ascendance Path: Aim for level 62-63 across the board, you'll be 65-ish when you're done.Master Stadium: should be a cakewalk unless your team composition is bad.Yes, this will require periodic grinding (ten minutes here, five minutes there, twenty minutes some other time). Yes, it's dull and annoying. It will also future-proof your team against being underlevelled. The boss fights in this game often give very good rewards, too, so if you know one of your team members is a few levels short, but you also know the upcoming boss will be easy, take the boss down, get that weaker member a couple of free levels, then grind it since it'll be stronger now.

Good evening...I seem to have an issue with my IPhone 10R. I'll be browsing along, and suddenly it'll open the context menu that can only be accessed by haptic touch (which the 10R doesn't support) or by using the actions rotor and flicking to it, then double tapping the screen. These are the only methods I'm aware of, and yet it seems to happen completely out of left field and I'm not sure why. I'm also having an issue with braille screen input where it will say "stopping braille screen input" while I'm trying to type, and last I checked there's no gesture for that either. Am I doing something wrong with my phone, or is IOS just super buggy?

If you hit restore, it will erase then install the latest version of ios.If you hit update, it will update without erasing your phone.I had something similar happen to me with this latest update, which is why I haven't embraced the cloud and still keep my backups in iTunes.Plus, I found restoring from the cloud, while convenient, doesn't restore your voiceover settings, you'll have to switch to the voice you prefer, then you have to re-add all the items you had in your rotor from scratch.If you restore from iTunes, you don't need to worry about any of that, because they carry across.I have no idea why cloud backups don't save those settings.Your cloud backup should be fine as long as it's from an earlier version of ios, it's when you're playing with beta versions where things get tricky.

While I usually aim to have all of the neighboring clans in one tribe, this can be extremely difficult. I recommend at least four or five other clans in your tribe so that you don’t have to give them too much stuff when they inevitably fight over what they want, but you can still have enough allies during raids or tribal war.

Hey all,I still didn't manage to finish the long game of king of dragon pass, though thinking of getting into six ages for a little cultural difference. Question is: Is it good to have a larger tribe opposed to a smaller one, or should i just band together with the minimal three? I think its three. When i want to get all my neighbours to a tribe moot they have so many demands that i can not meet them all. My last game ended when i angered the stormbull, uroxi are a hardy bunch. They just sacked my clan like... Like a storm.Just as i'm writing this an other question popped in to my mind, do we have somewhere a comprehensive all encomppassing lore stuff for glorantha? The world got me interested. My main question is what the hell happened to Humakt during the age of darkness? I think that's what you call the age when the gods retreat from chaos. You can not awake him during clan creation.And my idea is: I'm planning to do a narrative, book-like lp of kodp just for fun, like the saga just filled in with my own comments, like an orlanthi's diary or something. Would anyone be interested? Sadly my best friends are not really into kodp, one of them says that if she wants to read, she reads a book, and the other is just, well, lazy to play.

We have some problems with grouping. Especially one of our players (elf only 1 or 2 level under us) has great problems to follow with dubble p. He walks much slower than the others and get lost all the time. Has anyone an idea why? Is this a level or class depending thing? Is is a question of lag? We don't think so but maybe has  anyone better insight? Any general hints for fighting in groups and teams? I mean, we all joined the team and followed the leader with dubble click on p on the the leader, but there is still this phrase thing and maybe other we missed. Thanks for hints very much.

I use one called automatic captcha solver on firefox. It might have a somewhat misleading name because it is generic and I know many won't trust it but it does exactly what it says. I have been with it for a couple years and no private or personal or any weird data has been shared as far as I know, and it works very nicely with character recognition captchas. No puzzle solving or anything though. Given that most sites have the audio option nowdays I seldom use it but it comes in handy from time to time. Worst case i guess something like be my eyes or any other remote support app can do the trick.

I cant really mention you to any good tutorials, however, compose first. Mixing is one of the last things you do, I.E: all the effects, plugins etc, those are part of the mixing process, which goes after you've composed. That, and, what software are you using to compose / mix? Depending on the software I might have some idea as to where to look for tutorials.

Just a heads up, if Horizon Forbidden West is accessible, it might just be the main story, unless the devs have ideas on an accessible open world.You know what game I actually do think will be accessible? Ubisoft's Indiana Jones game. It's in very early development and Ubisoft keep on talking about accessibility and always wanting to do more, keep in mind that they have *not* specifically mentioned this game, but if Assassin's Creed Valhala was this close and just needed a few tweeks and navigation features put in, well who knows what might be coming up.As for Sony, remember they have several studios. Same with Microsoft. So it might boil down to who shares info with what, hopefully there's some accessibility sharing going on.

Do not store your ISOs on Github. In a GH repository you can only store up to 100 MB per file, and even git LFS has major limitations. Store your source code utilities and such in git hub, store your releases in keybase. Its trivial to make your build system -- even if its custom -- be able to automatically move files to keybase.

@108, the feedback is definitely not being ignored. However, at this current moment, I am not focusing on the menu or encryption code. I am focusing on getting a decent fish sound pool/manager working with Synthizer. You are free not to use the encryption or menu codes while they aren't up to par with your standards, as that is why the source exists in the way that it does.Now, as for 109 and 110, yes, you have to update the pool's listener position. You do not play a sound with the listener position in the sound play function. I have no idea why BGT's sound pool did this like this anyway, as there really is no point in having multiple listeners at the same time for a single sound pool. So what you do is something like.manager.x=me.xmanager.y=me.ysnd=manager.play_2d("sound name.ext",sound.x,sound.y,False)then, to update the sound,snd.x=sound.new_xsnd.y=sound.new_yetc etc. Hope this clears it up.

A few points I want to raise here. This is going to get controversial, fair warning. I suspect most of you will find things in this post to agree with, but a bunch of you are going to get your fur ruffled a bit. I will endeavour to be even-handed, but the nature of the topic at hand is touchy.Okay, so first off, the original idea is a nice thought, but it's not feasible for several reasons.1. The technical side, which has already been addressed. It's a lot bigger of a deal to actually migrate closed topics to an entirely different forum or platform.2. The practical side. Who, exactly, decides which topics are too dramatic to remain on the forum? Anyone who takes on this responsibility is going to be accused of reframing the narrative. I've already seen this, to some extent, but it would get worse. You folks are often very kind to us when we do things that make us look human (my apology thread, among others, is a great example of this, and probably better than I deserved), but the instant that we, as a staff team, do something which in some way limits free speech, all hell breaks loose. Put frankly, we already take enough undeserved ass-kickings to want to invite this. Also? There are threads which are still not closed but which got plenty dramatic. Go back and dig through some of the coronavirus threads, just as one simple example. Do we close those and migrate them, or do they stand as a representation of differing opinions and argument and, in some cases, simple human meanness? And if we do let them stay because we chose not to close them in the past, doesn't that kind of defeat the entire purpose?3. The philosophical side. The nature of any community is that you're going to get people who disagree. Sometimes it's civil, sometimes it's not. But always, it represents a reasonable microcosm of the larger community. If I came to a new forum for a hobby I possess, and found that 98.9% of it was civil, with very little drama, I'd immediately get suspicious and wonder if this small slice of the community was being honest and/or representing things fairly. It would creep me out, make me suspicious and would, in fact, probably drive me away eventually. Don't get me wrong. I don't want fights and bloodbaths and stuff, but I do want authenticity. And sometimes, authenticity is messy. There's no getting around that. In addition, while there are threads which end up being nothing more than a lot of folks bickering, there are also threads which start out badly and then end up showing how people can find common ground even in the midst of bitter disagreement. It would be morally disingenuous to start arbitrarily removing our worst elements from public view. Besides, when you have a problematic element, the proper thing to do is to confront it and hopefully triumph over it. You don't just shove it under a rug and hope nobody notices.My overall verdict here: a neat idea, and I am not discounting why you're saying it, but it's just not workable, on multiple levels.Okay, here comes the actual controversy.I've seen tons of people, in dozens of posts and threads, claim that they hate being misrepresented by certain members of the community. They dislike it when snap judgments are made about them, judgments which often ignore who and what they are in favour of a stereotype, a bad experience or pure unfounded supposition.Welcome to real life. Marginalized groups (LGBT, women, non-white, disabled, poor) get this all. the. time. You are not unique or alone or special purely because you feel this way. For every blind person saying it annoys them when another blind person blows across their mic or acts entitled, I bet you there is at least one woman who hate it when men assume they know nothing. One non-native English speaker who hates it when they notice other people treating them as if they're stupid because their English is heavily accented and broken. One person of colour who hates it when yet another white person makes a snap judgment about them due to their skin colour. One poor person who hates it when yet another entitled pro-capitalist boomer tells them that poor people are only impoverished because they're lazy.Human beings are champions at making stupid, unfair snap judgments about one another. It's not fair, it shouldn't happen, but it does happen. Pretending that it's worst in the blind community is hypocritical and selfish. While we absolutely do get bad press for the less socially inept or more entitled among us, I daresay that some of the blowback faced by other marginalized communities - and oftentimes for no credible reason at all - is far, far worse.
