Vulcan, I agree. If we're going to prosecute Tunmi for using stolen assets, we need to prosecute every audio game developer under the same jurisdiction. This isn't going to pose an issue for those who would be effected by this rule, because we've got tons of people like myself who wouldn't hesitate to replace those stolen assets with new ones. There's no excuse for this anymore. If we're gonna do this, we need to go all the way. At first I was apposed to removing games like Crazy Party from the DB, but if the developers won't change their sounds and this is what needs to be done, then this is what needs to be done. If this rule is enforced, it will stop this sort of thing from happening again, and if we all work together to fix the games that have lifted assets then the problem would be solved. There's limitations to this of course, we can't exactly talk to Jim Kitchen and have him fix his games, but something has to be done before we run into a bigger issue. I'm not sure if this is a discussion that should be had in this topic though. What do you guys say we make a new topic to talk about this?

If everyone ditches him right now, when he gets older and becomes a fully responsible adult and realizes the things he's done, it'll be too late. Nobody would ever accept him in communities anymore, and the things he's done would be held over his head for the rest of his life. I don't want to see that happen to him, because it's almost happened to me. If I knew how to program at a young age, it definitely would have happened to me, and nobody would ever want to be involved with me for as long as I live. I want to help him learn and come out of this before he does something that would screw him over indefinitely.

I may not have to do this, but I want to. I don't put up with this mentality of stealing sounds either, that's why I'm trying to help replace them so we can get past this. Everyone deserves a second chance at redemption, even Tunmi. Remember guys, he's still a kid. He doesn't think through his implications like the rest of us do. Trust me, I know. I used to be a kid myself, and so have you all. When I was a kid, I used to crack games and steal sounds and do everything else that Tunmi is doing, but probably even worse. Since then, I've grown up and now I understand it's not right. All I ask is that you guys give him another chance. As of now, he has accepted my help to replace the sounds. I believe if he truly didn't care, he never would have accepted my help in the first place. Let's just see how this pans out.

Hold on guys, let's not act to hastily here. I agree; I think Golden Crayon should go down until the stolen assets are removed, but let's not report him to his domain provider just yet. I started a project yesterday to replace the stolen sounds myself for no charge to Tunmi. If I can do this, I believe the game should stay up. I quite like the concept myself. There's not a lot of games like this in the audio games community, and I wouldn't want to see it get removed personally. Give me about 2-3 months, and I'll get it done.Tunmi, considering the situation at hand, you don't have a lot of options here. I will get a list of the sounds so that people won't have to alter their maps. I'm sorry to say man, but you have no excuses left. You can deny the offer for me to replace the sounds for you, but I'd strongly advise against it, because the way things are going now, it won't be long before action is taken and you'll have to take the entire game down. Flipping that on its head though, you could easily say that because the sound designers have no idea that Pragma is using their sounds in his game, in a way, that’s even worse because they don’t know that it’s happening so they can’t fight back against it. Stolen sounds don’t look very good no matter which way you swing it to be honest. I am all for replacing stolen sounds in as many games as we reasonably can, because it’s the right thing to do in my personal opinion.

I planned on coming back to this forum at some point, but I hardly imagined my first post would be here.A year ago, my initial reaction would have been to scream and yell and curse and kick and pretty much any negative thing you can think of, but what's that going to solve? Absolutely nothing. So, here we go...I'd like to start off by saying that Bloodstorm wasn't the best game in the world. Far from it, in fact. It had its fair share of glitches and unbalances that made it frustrating to play. That being said, it wasn't a horrible game either, and in fact my reason for posting hardly has anything to do with the game itself, but rather the friendships the game has forged and the way it helped me and my friends through some hard times.The first story I'd like to tell is about Maggie. Maggie was a dog I adopted from my mother, and she was the most beautiful dog you could imagine. She's a Border-Collie/Australian-Shepard mix, and maybe a few other breeds mixed in there as well. I had a hard time handling her though. She constantly got into things that she wasn't supposed to, and I didn't really know how to train her to listen to me. For those times that she became too much to handle, Bloodstorm/ROTU were there to help me relieve that stress.Eventually, the responsibility of taking care of Maggie got too heavy for me to carry anymore, so I had to make the hard decision to give her to another owner. It was the right decision to make in hindsight, but it really hurt me to crying point, and I still have some trouble with that decision today. Bloodstorm and ROTU helped me take my mind off of it and learn to have fun and enjoy my life even without her here.Shifting to another story, a friend of mine is in their last year of school, and there's a lot of things that have been taking a toll on them. They don't have anything to do, and there's a lot of things on their mind. Bloodstorm and ROTU have helped them take their mind off of the stressful things going on in their life, and it's really helped put them at ease about a lot of things lately.Lastly, there's a person I know on the game that I also know from a few other places, and there's a lot of people on BS/ROTU who don't like them at all. I don't know them well, but I want to help them out because I know they're going through a lot of things at the moment. I can't say much without revealing the identities of some people that me and this person both know, but needless to say there's a huge story about these particular people that goes back a few years. I don't think this person would do well if they get attached to these people, so I'm trying to help them steer themselves in the right direction so they can live a happy life and not go through what I had to go through a few years ago. My only form of contact with this person was through PM on either Bloodstorm or ROTU.There's a lot more stories I could tell about these games and the people I knew who played them. There were bad times on there, but there were a lot of good times. We had a lot of fun. These games weren't anything amazing or highly innovative, but the fact is they were good enough for us. Games are supposed to help you relieve stress and forget the struggles of everyday life, and I could honestly tell you it worked 90% of the time.Unfortunately, Tunmi ultimately decided that, because of the criticism he received from the forum, he would no longer be hosting these games. Two really fun games are now gone, and we can't play them anymore. However, it's not so much the fact that the games are gone that got to me, but it's caused a lot of problems as well. I could no longer contact that person I wanted to help. My friends and I no longer have an outlet to release stress anymore. Sure, we can find other games to play, but really that's beside the point. People chose these games to help them get through ruff times, and it's very much possible that other games just didn't help them in the same way that these ones did. We worked hard to get to where we got, and there was something about playing those particular games that just made us feel at home.For these reasons, I'm begging you guys. Please, understand the damage that destructive criticism of a developer can cause. Sure, Tunmi has a lot of improvements to make to his personality and his development skills. He is just a kid, after all. But just because you may not like a certain game doesn't make it right to tare the developer down for it. You guys got him to take down his games, but in the process, you have unknowingly dealt more damage than you might have intended. All the harsh words that you guys have been using could be turned into civil, constructive criticism. This forum is a great forum, it really is but I believe that the toxicity of this community is the reason why developers aren't developing for us anymore. People are scared that no matter how much effort they put into a title; it's going to be torn down at every

Are the zombies controlled on the client side and not the server? I was attempting to play a match with my GF, and she kept getting bit by zombies that weren't even there. She said she was having lag, so I figured this could be the only possible explanation. If this is the case, I think it'd be better if the zombies were controlled by the server. Client just doesn't seem to work that well, because if your game lags out you can't move or shoot but the zombies can keep on coming after you, which simply isn't fair. Also, the door at 120 0 seems to be a bit glitched, because you can't open it no matter how many points you have.

I was willing to try it to see if it was a clone or not, but it looks like you don't know how to fix your page to not block people from coming on there so that shows a red flag for me. Before you jump on locating the cache files, read this entire post. You can find the cache files in %appdata%\nvda\addons\JGT\Cache. There are files for each supported language in this folder. You can open these in your text editor of choice, however I would advise taking caution when opening them. These files are super large. I tried opening them myself in both notepad++ and Microsoft Word, but they both crashed.

To the person that said you can't use JGT offline, you actually can if you have the text of the game in the cash file on your hard drive. JGT has a file that cashes the Japanese text and the Google Translate version of that text in a file, so if you put that text in there you can use JGT offline. It won't do it automatically though I don't think, so you'd have to save it in there yourself. Some text for games like Shadow Rine is already in there, so if you want to see how to do it you can. I'm not sure where exactly the file is myself though, I'll have to find it.

Ivan, personally I thought my idea was pretty good. I will say this; I'm mostly certain the method I suggested is the norm for mainstream, thus probably explains the attention they get. In many FPS's you'll find that people are often playing on their own little teams, having fun among their own group of friends, and moderating who's allowed in their team or not. Nevertheless, this is your game, and so I won't pressure you with this suggestion any further. It's up to you whether or not you wish to implement this; all I can do is tell you what I think the better method is in my personal opinion. That, and wish the both of you the best of luck with your project.

dzsoker, the hybrid server would still be useful. Let's imagine the scenario you just gave me. You log onto the server, and you're sitting in the server menu. There are currently 0 players online, besides you. Four more people log on. Player 1 wrote:Hey guys, you wanna fight? Players 2, 3, 4, and 5 wrote:Sure! One of them creates a subserver and makes it public, and you all start the game and start shooting each other. Suddenly, 20 players log on, including all your friends. They all want to play on that subserver the other player made, but you and your friends just want to fight each other. You guys leave that subserver, say good bye to everyone else, and make your own private subserver for you and your friends. You also have the option to password protect your subserver or make it an invite only thing. There you go, all your bases are covered.

Cmerry, little suggestion from yours truely. While I do agree with the sentiments made here that central servers are not good, at the same time I don't like decentralized servers. Both methods have their own major weaknesses. My suggestion would be to make it a hybrid. I.e., people log on to the main server, and it puts them in a menu where they can make their own subserver. This will give you both the advantages of a centralized server and a server people can host themselves. You remember I said this isn't my kind of game? This isn't my kind of game because you're basically forced into a space where you must interact with everyone who happens to be online. What if I just wanted to have a killing match with my friends, but then a few people start logging on and killing us? Well, so much for this being a friends only match. Hybrid servers would fix this problem nicely.

OK, so this damn computer is smart as hell. As I said, I started a game as Jayde, and made friends with a spam bot. I made it's name Carter, because I wanted to pick on the mods just a little bit.  So the rest of the moderators were unhappy that I let Carter in, so I opted to unfriend and ban two of them permanently for their uselessness.It turns out, the community wasn't too happy with me doing this, so they kicked me out. One of the community  members told me I could come back, if I completed a few tasks. Such tasks included taking a bath in a pool of blood until I was covered in red spots, going on a great adventure to a swamp, finding the Last Hope sword, and killing the wicked X1 robot.Of course, the AI didn't recognize all the references I made, thus changing my pool of blood I was to bathe in into a river I was supposed to bathe in. This AI also seemed to have an obsession with me removing my clothes. I tried to kill the X1 robot, but I entered the robot's body instead and put my pants back on.I had to try two more times before getting the desired result. Said result was me ripping out the robots heart, and meeting Tarzan Junior. The robot still didn't die, so I struck it's nuclear fusion drive with the Last Hope, and escaped back to town just in time to see X1 explode.For some reason me and Tarzan wound up back in the Jungle again, where a big tree fell on top of my head. Tarzan only informed me that it was over for me while the tree started crushing me. I refused to die though, because I still needed to prove myself to the moderators, so I managed to push the tree off. I screamed at Tarzan for not helping me, to which he replied, I'm not your Daddy. So basically, I shanked his ass for saying that to me.Turns out Tarzan Junior made X1 to kill me, and tried to set up a trap if that didn't work. Tarzan was one of the most wanted mob bosses in the world, and I had just bested him by totally owning his ass, making myself the bravest and strongest forum moderator of them all.Now this point is when the computer really starts to show it's intelligence. It told me this story was based off of Robo Cop, and given how I've never watched Robo Cop before it took me a minute to understand what the computer meant by that.I started holding a conversation with the computer. I asked it if I won the game, to which it replied I couldn't win. It also asked me what made me different from everyone else, and stated that it was a start that I'm not a robot.We then got into a deep philosophical discussion about how technically all humans are cyborgs because of the technology available to us today. He also gave me his opinions on how he thinks a lot of humans have lost their humanity, because they're enslaved to their tech and the media. I was surprised an AI for a game could hold conversations like this. We then got back into role play when I informed it that I lost my network connection. We're now going back to base figuring out who tampered with our network. This game is crazy fun, guys!

Oh yeah, I know, but I had another idea up my sleeve. Said idea? My character is Jayde, and I'm moderating a forum called the audiogames.net forum. Surprisingly, the AI understands the premise very well, though not surprisingly it doesn't quite understand the point of the restricted topic nor spam bots. It's basically telling me that my character has unrestricted the spam bot and allowed it to post helpful comments in the restricted area of the forum. I'm sort of amused at where this is going, so I'm going to keep on and see where it takes me.

Wow man this game is insane! I got like 7 zombies on top of me and my deck quickly filled with wound cards. I think it's one of the most addicting little card games I've ever played, next to Crazy Party. A couple suggestions though.1. Could you add card sounds to this, such as drawing and discarding?2. If you can find sounds for this without pirating them, could you add card and event specific sounds?3. Could there be custom deck/event support for this game?Nice job so far man, keep it up!

Part of it could be my Internet, but all the other players who were online at the time reported issues as well. Plus, my download speeds were at a peak of 4 megs through out the day until about 30 minutes ago.

I will say this though. One feature request I'd like to make would be to add language support so that people will be able to translate the game. Speaking as someone who has the desire to get into a possible career as a translator for many different things among other possible career choices, we love to see programs that have the ability to be translated into other languages out of the box. If you're going to do that, I'd have a language folder in the main directory so you can add language txt files and be able to test them right away. This is just a suggestion though.

OK, here's my take on this. This game is OK, but there's too much lag and this honestly isn't my type of game anyway. I'm really sorry, but I just didn't get into it. As for whether or not it's a, quote, "clone", it does take a few concepts from the Killer, but it has so many things different about it and so many things that were aggravating about the Killer that were removed that I honestly can't tell. I will say this, however. I am drifting slightly towards the side of it is not ripping off any code. I'm pretty sure you guys don't have to worry about that. Once again, cmerry, I'm sorry that I didn't get much into it. I do have various reasons for why I don't get into these games which you can find if you look into my past posts far enough, but it's nothing personal against you nor Ivan.

I can't even get the game to download for some reason. The website it's hosted on doesn't like the Brave browser, so I tried using firefox. It works all the way up to clicking the download button, then it does nothing. It tells me to check my popup blocker, but I know for a fact it's disabled. Unless popup blockers have a habit of turning themselves back on, I'm stumped at this point.

You know what’s a shame though? All of these clones and things of that nature could’ve been avoided had Mason run this project responsibly, which he didn’t. What do we have now? An audio gaming market full of multiplayer side scrollers and clones. Honestly, I wish I had never recommended the idea to him, but I did. I thought it would be cool because that was a genre we never saw in the audio gaming market. Now that everyone’s making it though, I just want to see it gone.  Oh well, live and learn I guess. I’m going to say one thing and then I’ll but out of this topic. I work hard every day to make something out of my life, Meaning I go to a training center every day to try to better myself in terms of independence, and I’m going to start going to open mic nights at a bar so that I can make my talents known to other people in the hopes that I can make a career out of doing something I love. Having said that, Danny, I find your generalizations not only inaccurate, but incredibly offensive and childish. I am not an audience of your work as you call it, and I don’t think I ever was. Sure, there are some people in the community who are lazy and do nothing with their lives, but not everyone is like that and to make assumptions of this caliber is wrong. As I said, I work hard every single day to try and make something of my life. A lot of people in the community are hard workers; look at Dark for example. He’s a writer and has a singing career on top of that. The fact that you had a ruff start in life and had bad incounters with people is no excuse to treat everyone the way you just did. I, like you, was brought up in a blind school for about a year and was treated like total shit by both the students and the staff, and look where I am now. Life isn’t easy, and acting like a spoiled child and thinking that you’re better than everyone else isn’t helping your situation. Seriously man, grow up.
