431-432, not even going to go into the misconceptions you both have. Obviously someone cares or others would've complained about it. A topic does not need to entirely be about a particular subject, and its quite often that the topic will change. Please try and actually learn how human communication in the physical world and over the internet work. Its not uncommon for me to be on the OSDev.org topc discussing linkers or (hell, even) AI and then that topic diverges into discussing theoretical computing and futuristic concepts. The topic always gets pulled back ontrack eventually, but for a bit of time we go to discuss other things that are related to the discussion at hand. Now, politics and other views are not related to bloodbath in particular; they are however related to the content of the most recent -- oh -- 30 or so posts.

The article explained it far betterthan I could. Up to this point I'd always heard that "Gender identity" is based on "how you feel", which I could never rationalize. The article definitely cleared up the confusion for me and made me consider that the phraseology is probably what is in error, not the sentiment behind it. For reference, the article I found is here. I'd love some opinions on it (but probably in another topic). I found that article, ironically enough, by kindly asking the internet what the "scientific logic/reasoning" was, and I'll probably find articles concluding the same as that one; that article makes a lot more sense than saying "its based purely on how you feel" because when I here someone say that something is "how hey feel" it immediately creates a connection between that person and their emotional state at the time. So, when I heard that saying, "Your gender is how you feel", I was being mislead down a logical path that only ended in confusion and no theories that were remotely possible and, ultimately, rejection, thereby causing my misunderstanding and disbelief. Of course,"feel" could also mean instinctual states too, so perhaps this also could be categorized as an instinctive "I just know" kind of thing too? I hope I offended no one with this post; I understand the sensitivity of this topic.

I'll chip in and say that "cloning" a game is illegal in this very complicated thing called copyright. You see, whenever someone creates an original work, it immediately becomes copyrighted by them, even if they don't make a statement declaring it as such. This can only be revoked by placing the original work under licenses that negate normal copyright restrictions, such as putting it in the PD.

I don't get it why the hell people are so damn sensitive about others finding out their IP addresses. The IP address was never meant to be, has never been, is not, and will never be private. It was meant to be public and will remain that way. It is meant as a method of identifying your computer on a network. If you don't want people finding out your IP address, leave the damn internet -- entirely -- and don't ever come back. No matter what you do -- use a VPN, a secret router, etc. -- people will always find out your IP address.@453: Are you insane or something? You never, ever encrypt a password with a static key. Hell, you should never, ever encrypt anything with a static key, but no one will ever listen to that one. The point is that you should hash a password with SHA512, Blake SP2, or something else even more secure, and salt it as well. But never encrypt userdata with a key that you can get. That just makes people distrust you even more because they know that you have the key, all the time, and can access their private data without them ever knowing about it. As 454 said, use an automated process that's securely encrypted in all ends to change the password, and ensure that even you, yourself, can never get the key, or manage to de-salt the information. If you have the decryption key then that defeats the entire point of security.

I did not have an exact reason, to be honest. But I'll gladly admit that I gave Sam quite a lot of time to clear that up. The simple point is, no one would have reported this to him. He didn't even have a good reporting system in place for this kind of thing. He even admitted it to me in a private email that he would do better. In essence, we both learned lessons from this incident. The lesson I learned was to contact him first, then report it; his, I think, was to have better systems in place for this kind of thing. @djlex, you've got nerve for saying that I've got a questionable history when you do yourself. I'd go as far as to say that nearly all of us do have a questionable history on here. I do not expect immediate redemption. I don't expect that to be fast. That'll be slow, and that will come in time. I admit that I made a mistake. A bad choice. It may even be a very bad choice. But I fixed it. If you really think domain transfers can
 't take a month, you've got a seriously fucked up view of the internet. My last domain transfer took nearly two and a half weeks. And that was because I had to unlock my domain, disable WHOIS privacy, retrieve the EPP code, forward that to HostGator, then sit and wait. And the waiting was the longest and most boring part of the entire process. I didn't want Sam to go through that, so I restored his domain to him. And it works just fine now. Without my request, No-IP would probably done nothing unless Sam came up for a very convincing argument to prove his case over mine. I doubt they even read the entire report. I speculate that they actually terminated his services because I indicated that his web site linked to malicious software. It does not mean it would be specifically used on No IP; the fact that it was there is a direct violation of the ToS. If Sam does want our conversation disclosed then I'll happily do it. But since he's said nothing on it, I'

@All of you guys who say that I won't enjoy the game, I actually still do. As I've told Jayde before, I can still get my ass kicked. And I do have some extra Manamon in my transportal that I might just take out for a nice long run. But do keep in mind that if I complete the game (or fail it--I don't have any manamons that can do the sleep move or shatter)--I'll start over again. And then I'll make it fair. And yes, I'm using Cheat Engine. So this save file isn't just all boring stuff. (Well, OK, it's boring when I get no experience when I kill things, but it's still fun, especially when I get mobs that are a challenge (like the Junior Administrator).

Also, sorry for double posting, but what is the maximum level for a manamon? I set my experience to 2147483647 and... well, let's just say it didn't like it. It managed to finish the leveling process (I think it was around level 1400 or 1415 or something like that) but it couldn't calculate the gold (or, at least, it couldn't calculate something. It errored out and I couldn't check. Like, it BGT runtime errored. Apparently, the amount of gold was so high that it overflowed and tried dividing by zero.)

@Jayde, I cannot hack everything. The only things I can hack are the experience (which shouldn't be possible anyways) and my gold (which, again, shouldn't be possible). I am very, very limited on what I can and can't do. Believe me, I've tried everything, from training points, to health, to stat counters. So far, I can only hack my gold and experience. So, by all means, accuse me of what you wish to, but do note that I am not doing anything illegal.The reason I spoke the way I did towards you in my previous post is because I interpreted post 1,377 as you basically saying that I had managed to decrypt my save file, modify the files that way, and then encrypt it again, which I did not do. I do not know Aaron's encryption key and I do not know if he directly serialized the data into bytes or not, and I do not wish to know. I am performing what's called direct memory injection, that is, I'm changing what I can while the game is running, not bef
 ore or after it has either started or exited, which is impossible due to the way operating systems manage memory. Believe me, if I was able to modify my save file, I would have notified all of you about it, and I would be able to change a hell of a lot more than I can at the moment. However, when I wrote post 1,377 I was trying to be mysterious, not be rude, so I am sorry if you interpreted my words as being rude, disrespectful, or something else I can't think of right now.

Hello all,OK, I am seriously, seriously frustrated! The Junior administrator (is that even part of the story line?) of the arcade keep scaling with me, always one-shots or two-shots my manamon, and it's really, really annoying! And it always goes first and usually doesn't allow me to get a damn sot in myself! I can manage to kill the first foe Manamon, but the second one always kills me! I run out of UPs and have no time to restore them, cause the next shot that happens I die--or get defeated. I'm seriously frustrated and am really starting to get pissed. This is the exact reason scaling should not be implemented in audio games--it makes impossible-to-beat battles! And if there's a way to beat it, please, please tell me. (Also, as a side note, the damn foes have my stats, too, so it makes beating them impossible!)

@Cruf, oh, it's certainly possible to overload a machine like that. Just create a cyber bomb that uses all the CPU power, all the memory, all the GPU memory, and all the disk space, and watch as windows crashes because your machine is overheating.In regards to those limits, The reason those limits should be put in place is to prevent cheating at all. I understand that you guys wouldn't like them, but it's necessary to prevent cheaters from gaining an unfair advantage.

Very true. And yes, that is what I meant. Perhaps instead of imposing a limit on how many items you can collect, we could impose a limit on how many times an item can be used? For instance, if you have 15 health boosts, the game will only let you use one sixths of them every 5 seconds. So, as an example, if you had 30 shields, you would only be able to use 5 of them at once (which is equivalent to 16.664 percent of them). Alternatively, the max. shield limit should be imposed and enforced locally and remotely. For instance, if the player had reached the maximum amount of blocked shielded shots, the game would send a message, through TCP, of course, to notify the server that this is happened. The message would be something like ": MAX_SHLD_LMT_REACH" or "Player_ID: MAX_SHIELD_LIMIT".

I think it's time to crack down on cheaters. Cheaters still cheat because no one has managed to do something attiquit about it. The lag will never go away because it's BGT that's the backbone of the lag. Since no one else is a moderator, and the game does not report things that are clearly impossible or absurd, like people having more than 2000 HP and, oh, 100 shielded shots, and, therefore, does not bring that to Sam's attention, cheaters can cheat. I really think that a health limit should be set on players to prevent this. To be more specific, I think the following limits would do fine:Maximum health: 2000Maximum shielded shots: 75Maximum amount of a single item: 5Allow me to explain myself so you can understand why I'm being so strict:The maximum health limit should be 2000. Even this can be abused slightly, but the third restriction will make that 
 abuse a very, very low probability. (I predict that this would be around 2/26 or 3/40, which is about 7.69 percent or 7.5 percent of the players each. If we make that 50, then a probability of 1/50 would be 2.0 percent, 2/50 would be 4.0, etc.)The maximum shielded shots should be 75. This way, if someone tries to abuse the lag, they cannot, since the monitoring of the number of items gathered will be local. This makes people only immortal (if we exclude things that can destroy shields easily or can bypass them (which I will make a suggestion to later on in this post)) for a very short duration.The maximum amount of items should be 5. No total limit of items overall should be imposed. This way, you cannot abuse the lag at all because you'd only have five shields, and most you'll get out of that would be 75 shielded shots. A simple volley of rifle shots will do your shield in quite nicely.No ammunition limit should be imposed.<

Hi,This sounds like you are learning Python just because Danny's using Python, and your writing SB in python because Danny is. Not cool, guys. Not cool at all. Danny is not the ultimate ultimate-class game leader. He isn't (and probably doesn't) want you to learn the same programming language he's learning because he makes good games and you want to follow him in every way but with different ideas. You guys need to select your own paths, and right now, I believe, the path of Danny is off-limits. Cross-platform can be achieved in many other programming languages as well-Java, Scala, Groovy, Haskell (GHCi, Hugs, NHC, YHC etc.), J, LISP, LPC, Lua, Ruby, and others come to mind. Just because Danny switches to a different programming language does not, in fact, mean you have to. Plus, I see absolutely no difference in this version of SB than the SB written in BGT accept cross-platform capability, and that might not even be possible. So, guys, choose your own p
 aths and do not follow Danny. Danny is not your leader or your god. Yes, he makes awesome games, but you don't have to follow him just to make great games too.

OK, then! Visualstudio, The terminator has some... rather interesting tools in your source code folder that hes hiding from you. It looks like it, at least. And if the OS is for research purposes, why didnt the terminator say that a long time ago? If he had, I would have supported him, but since he didnt, I criticized him for doing it since we have enough. All of the OSes can be geared towards the blind community; take Vinux for instance. They have a hard working community which creates a Linux OS for the blind, and many use that. Take the new PS4 firmware upgrade, for instance! It will ave a screen reader that can read some of the PS4s interface to you. And look at Windows. There are so many screen readers out there for windows that you could find one immediately by just looking for screen reader for windows on Google. Look at Mac OS X and Linux. Both have screen readers for the blind. For Linux, we have Orca and Speakup. for Mac OS X and iOS..

  Pet, tonney toy, and virus maker. The first three I dont believe are harmful, but I suggest looking into the Virus Maker folder and code to ensure it is not harmful to the computer. Hi,When I launch swamp, I agree to the user agreement the first time, set my gamer account username, and attempt to log in. However, it does not log in for me, but just sits at the main menu. When I hit exit, it says Exiting as the screen title, and then utterly does nothing. It wont exit or allow me to connect or exit the game.

@18, I dont think so. Aliases will be one of the most difficult things to implement, but soundpack support will also be difficult. VIPMud has features that just cant be done in PureBASIC. However, other aspects might make it surpass VIPMud if danny doesnt terminate development like he did last time. Overall, it is a good product, although it needs lots of improvements to catch my interest. At the moment, MUSHclient will do.

Neither can I. MUSHclient just is unbeatable in features and capabilities. Danny, if you do ever implement sound support, I hope its the interpretation of an actual programming language, as that adds much more flexibility to your client, and will attract me to it (if it is good enough, although considering our feud, maybe not). Im sticking with MUSHclient, since I like it and it suits me perfectly.

Thats the thing, Tyler. This game doesnt really need music. The music we already have is music I bought and have a fully non-transferable license to use it. Maybe, though, in one of our other games, we may be able to find a way to use it.

Hi all,Vlad25 has evaded his ban once again. If he does not stop, I am reporting him to his local authorities, as he should not be using a VPN to fake his IP in the first place. For those who think that they can evade their bans like this, dont even try.

I know it was Vlad, because of the way he writes. He might be able to trick us for a while, but I know he was on. He needs to stop evading his ban. Hes trying to get os very wary so that we cant ban him any more. He acts like a normal person, but the moment a PMs me, I see the way he writes and ban him.Vlad, you need to stop. Seriously. Evading your ban will not help this situation and clogs up the bannedips.txt file.
