Going to point something out really quick. Python will not fix his game management issues. I would recommend you stick to offline games, give yourself time to learn more networking concepts and come back when you can actually handle good game administration.I think you can have the best game ever, coding, audio design, whatever...but if you administrate the game poorly it'll become the next shitshow around here.

Yeah I did, and it was one of my points to him when I told him how bad it was for him to pull his bullshit while we spent hours helping out. I thought that when his 2 developers left him before he kicked me out for no reason today, that he'd learned something as I saw the communication was getting slightly better. I guess he really only bettered himself for a short amount of time and went back to his old ways as he usually does.I don't expect people to believe me btw, I hope they do their own research and look back a few topics back one of his old sound designers and co developers on a project had something along those same lines to say as well. No, this is not me blasting him, this is me showing him that it's not just me who feels this way, it's 90 percent of the people he's worked with.

Rotu is back, and I'm not sure how long it'll stay that way.I'm going to make my post, and that's as far as I will take this. I'm not writing this post out of anger because if it was their would have been a lot more posts earlier this year, but I'm only doing this to clear up any misconceptions about Rotu this Rotu that.When I downloaded the game for the very first time I was actually really digging it but the only thing that kept me from playing...was the lag as you all know. The lag was so bad most of the time I just died while 10 or so undead got on top of me.Given all that, I still saw some potential in this game, and I still do for the record. I asked Tunmi if he needed help with some things, and I gave him a few things he could use to try to help the game, and eventually he let me in the dev team.We worked on a few updates, everything was fine and the lag was even starting to clear up. We had the game running for the last few days with a bunch of players connected, I would log on from time to time and we would bring out dragons for people to kill, etc. Until...Tunmi took it down of course. Look, I've always complained about people being ungrateful at times, but this guy really knows how to make a good example of that. There were 4 of us in the dev team, and no one found out that the Rotu game was discontinued until all 3 of us (Tunmi excluded of course) looked at the forum or people would just ask us about it throughout the time it was down.I would sometimes bring it up to Tunmi, but I would be met with silence on the other end. When I point blank told him how I felt about the entire situation he considered bringing it up, but even that took 1 week of his time. I offered to do most of the work because I really liked coding for this game and I wanted to start adding more things, but no. The other developers talked about doing something to the game but nope, we had to wait until Tunmi changed his updater (btw this would probably take a few minutes) and then we could finally begin because the game was just unplayable before then.But of course, things don't always go as planned. The other 2 developers left because they saw Tunmi wasn't organized, had no clear goal for the game and would make really quick decisions without consulting us first, about anything. It is his game, and I'm going to be the first one to defend him on that, but in his message he sent us when he wanted to bring it up was something along the lines of "Well I gotta focus on GC, so I'll need the other devs to take care of it for me." Honestly, for some that know me, know that I don't really help out with games like these for free, but I really saw potential in this game, so I decided to work on this to help out the community in games, but this is how we're repaid. I saw a post talking about the roomers going around on GC about me apparently wanting to take it down, and that's another thing entirely and I hold no one person at fault, I just honestly think it's something someone started. I tend to stay away from that sort of horseshit, so I don't know much that happens when it comes to things being said. Today I was randomly without warning, removed from the dropbox folder because he wanted to "take on the burden  on his own." That's fine, but I'm still struggling to see how he's gonna do that without asking someone else for help and repaying them just like teh way he repaid us, that is by yanking the source from under our feet whenever he decides to, take down a server, or just accuse his developers of trying to do harm for the game for no reason other than whatever it is that's being fed to him that day.Tunmi, your games have potential and I think you as a developer have some as well because you're a really quick learner, but until you get your shit figured out, at least to where people can work with you, please don't waste anyone's time for now. To those who decide to work with him, do so at your own risk, but just note that time is something you never get back.

I'm going to agree with Pool here. I have heard many players complain about how Redspot is gone, wa wa wa wa wa. But when someone comes and releases something similar to RS, everyone jumps down on the developer's throat.I think it's time for the community to start telling us what they want, letter by letter. It's hard to please everyone as is, it's even harder pleasing a community who shits on anything that has FPS. So, what new ideas would you like to see on the table. Perhaps telling the developer what you want changed rather than "screw this it's just another clone" may get you something better.

So can I ask why the hell scoreboards got removed from the game? As far as I know this was one of the big things players got when paying for the full version.Now that we're on the topic of that, can I ask again...for probably the 15th time, here you are again after telling us you were done with the flip-flopping  of game features, why?Yes, before some people on the forum tell me I did it a number of times myself, and I will be the first to tell you that yes I have done it. But the main differences are very clear. Sadly Mason deleted a lot of his previous topics, but he made multiple topics telling us how he was no longer going to charge for games, no longer going to screw people over with game-payments, on and on and on. And here we are again, a new year, a new game update to an existing game that keeps being shelved after months of support, only to have it come up as a new release the following year. I guess the question I'm getting at is... how do we know? How do we know you won't get upset at the game's code and remove endless mode. How do we know you won't add scoreboards again, only to remove them because of a server issue? How do we know you won't have one of your many outbursts on twitter and delete your entire website?I get the paid mode is optional, but removing features from a game with no explanation is completely absurd and leaves a bad taste in people's mouths.This has been a thing for the last 5 to 6 years, and I'm personally getting tired of it. While I enjoy some of your games, it's sad to see them get put through an endless cycle of release game, make game paid, remove x paid feature, discontinue game, update game as new release, rinse and repeat. As a game developer myself, I think we need better games, and it's time to start reflecting on how we conduct ourselves on the forum and it's important to be aware of the content you are putting out. As I always say, quality over quantity.

As long as there is no contract or legal binding about sourcecode, I don't see why this is a big deal. You contributed some code to the game but I don't think you ever talked about what would happen if the game died, right? It was always Mohamed's game. Put it to you this way, when I came in to help with SBYW, I didn't really expect to get it and buy it. I honestly thought that if Mason killed it it would be the end of it and I would move on to other projects. Eventually I had plans to build something of my own in python. Hell man, I wrote the BTS inventory system, and I didn't expect a thing or money. I did it because I wanted to help out for a bit, and anyone else who has contributed code to the project also did it for free, as far as I'm aware.

I do remember Liam reaching out and me telling the staff I sold it to him. I'm not sure what ended up happening, but all I know is there is a blanket ban on these games. I think the admins got confused on what was going on so to make it better for everyone they just decided to outlaw the playing and talking about TK, Ultrapower and any game that uses it's sourcecode.If I'm wrong then I stand corrected and I hope an admin speaks up but that's just always what I thought happened.

I'm not going to say I like what's going on with all this sharing around garbage that goes on, but I think it's time to put BGT to bed and move on. It tells me how many tiles there are. SO get the x you're on, and subtract or add the number of tiles, left is subtract, right is add x.If I were at 200, 0, and someone is 325 tiles away, I could teleport to 520, 0.

The only problem that we run into here, is we don't have a way of interacting with sql using BGT.Create a php script that can email things, please make sure to secure it behind a password or something for the code to run (you don't need someone emailing you random stuff from your email server), and let BGT do the work.

A few years later and we're still trying to pound this into people's heads. Please start hashing player passwords. The fact that an admin can get these passwords so easily to give them out to players is extremely absurd and I'm very surprised no one actually cares. I'm not even saying, developers are gonna misuse this information against other forum members, because I don't know, maybe they will, maybe they won't, but what's to stop an attacker from getting into your server, going to your player data and boom! Same with your sourcecode, if someone breaks your decryption key for player data if encrypted, someone can go crazy and decrypt everyone's player passwords.. look at the SBYW custom server mess that happened last year.

I think that the fact that an admin can so easily get your password, vs trying to add a system to either email the password to a player or setting the email to the character, at least. I can't believe that 5 years later this still needs saying. If you are storing the password in just text, or if the developer can go and see the password is pretty absurd

I'm in no way trying to invalidate what you're trying to say, because I really do sometimes have to agree with you when it comes to the forum not knowing what it wants sometimes( most times actually), but you're not exactly at a clean slate either. You, in other words, are the face of the game. Rather than getting upset because you think the blame is put on you and speaking negatively of your team, you should try to address some of the concerns with Mohamed and reach an agreement.You also have to realize that you can't please everyone else, no matter how hard you try. Like someone else said, at the end of the day it is your game and as the developer it is your job to come to a decision based on feedback you receive from the players. That is why you need to really start with the communicating and taking player feedback! If anything, go learn the bgt network object, study the chapters even if you think you know everything to do with networking. I wouldn't say new, but we have been focusing on server lag, and just trying to give a player a better experience on the game.The biggest things that really changed are the way the game was ran. I know in previous years the game suffered from a lot of drama with corrupt admins, and players being unfairly banned. X0 and I have worked hard to try to cut this back, and so far the player count is rising again.

I probably would not be using the same code to rewrite zombie war as the open sourced version is extremely buggy and messy, but I was thinking of reviving that game if it is indeed open sourced. Hi everyone,coming to let you all know that this week on Friday the BB server will be going down for good as there hasn't been enough interest in the current game. I know the current game has some lag issues as some people reported, but I am moving on to building other frameworks to remake bloodbath or another shooting type game, promising native compatibility with new versions of Mac OS and Windows. I'm not leaving Linux users out in the cold, I just do not have a Linux environment to test anything.Again, shutting down the main bloodbath server was a decision that I thought about for some time, and it is the best thing to do for the game until things start to become more stable in the framework I'm trying to build. It would not be fair to the community and to the bloodbath team to continue working on the game in an outdated and discontinued scripting engine. We will inevitably run into the same issues we've been trying to kill with BGT network games, which is of course 1% lag!

Yeah,I guess I could try to add some of these but the thing is there is no AI at the moment and I don't ever plan for AI to actually exist in the game.The game's playerbase isn't to the point where it would be fair to add teamed missions at the moment, but down the road I can work out another missions system.

If he is so concerned about wripping people off, the smart thing to do is shut down the store, let it sit there for a few months, and let people use up all their paid items.Once enough time has gone on, he can nuke it as there will be no more purchases in the store and players had time to use up what they bought.
