Re: Request a name change version 2

Okay, here's my one and only name change request and a noteCan my username on here be changed to JaceKAlso, this is odd but for whatever reason.if I'm registering or something else, it seems to ignore what's in the username field, and just take the email as a username, is that a back end thing or is that just a thing where it fills out the username as the email and the user has to go double check it?

Re: New topic poll options. Scale 'em back

On Ubuntu and Orcait's weird, if I toggle brose or sticky browse on, it doesn't jump to the buttons here, I don't know if it's a Linux/Orca setup specific issue but it just seems to leap around at random and I have to hit B and Shift=B a few times to get to the buttons...Ideally I wouldn't mind one of three thingsA) Poll options removed in the long runB) A hotkey to post, something like alt+shift SExample: I'm making a new topic, do my posst, do alt+shift+S and it activates submit from wherever I am on the page, or whatever hotkey is set to it, I say alt+shift+S as it's a common one for many forums and works across different forum software though I dunno if punbb supports that at all.C) A redesign of the forum (unlikely) to make it cleaner and simpler to use and minimise the dead areasJust my thoughtsOh and it's a weird issue, it doesn't happen much on my laptop but on my desktop it seems to force focused mode on for the poll options so I'm thinking that's absolutely an Ubuntu/Orca issue now. No issues with the quick reply box mind.

Even so it shouldn't matter what software you use, I simply want the forum to be easier to use for everyone and splitting off the poll options into a seperate new poll creation would make it easier to use for everyone however.

Re: New topic poll options. Scale 'em back

Right but at least here, I dunno if it's my computer, browser or whatever but hitting next button doesn't do anything, it just cycles through the poll fields over and over until I hammer escape to get it out of that. I'd just like the poll stuff spun off into its own new poll stuff, which'd be a new topic with poll stuff, and the existing new topic to just be the stuff before the poll, and the submit/preview buttons.Or a handy keyboard shortcut, on other sites it's alt+shift+S on Jcink, Vbulltin has a similar system, I believe phpbb has a similar hotkey too

New topic poll options. Scale 'em back

2018-01-05 Thread AudioGames . net ForumSite and forum feedback : DracoSelene89 via Audiogames-reflector

New topic poll options. Scale 'em back

As it saysWhy does a new topic automatically come with a poll setting? I'd much rather have individual new topic and new poll buttons or functions like on most forums, as it's cluttered as anything and, ironically, not very accessible to have a giant wad of poll stuff at the bottom of a post new topic page. So, how bout removing the poll options and if possible moving the poll to a seperate post new poll link, I mean new topic's already there so why not. It'd also clean up the new topic page too.Lastly. Is there a handy keyboard shortcut to post without having to tab or scroll through the entire poll settings stuff, or a way to hide said poll settings if they don't get removed? It's just bugging me is all really. I dont get why I have to wade through a poll setting most never ever useso just get rid of it from the new topic stuff and move it over to a new poll page already, yanno

Re: Get rid of the damn ads on here

Sebi, one way could be to take a page out of Youtube's book, and offer a premium service for  $5 a month that gets rid of ads and so forth, it'd obviously go tward costs and such, I've been on sites with such a program and I personally wouldn't mind paying a few bucks a month ot support the site. That being said, I personally don't like the ads that are intrusive as hell really, and given again Youtube's own issues with ads...yeah, I'd happily pay for the site to remove ads, This site, not YT, though I'd happily pay for that too really...

Spam, spam, lovely spambots...(Or not)

Spam, spam, lovely spambots...(Or not)

What's up with all these spambots exactly? I'm not sure what's going on with them, I figured the anti bot thing was supposed to work but besides running into it once I've not had it come up and, beinb blunt, it's stupidly easy to get a list of answers or have a bot just OCR the question and then work out the answers.IMO you guys need to toughen up the anti bot protection and start nuking bot posts and bot accounts, they're getting snakier and sliding into topics with posts that look on topic but are not.TL:DR: Please, guys, fix the bots prblem, Evven if you have to go to an audio captcha system, or the 'I am not  arobot' system, or something like that rather than a simple question any half decent person can OCR and add into a bot's libraryit absolutely NEEDS to happen. Before anyone starts saying it'll make the site harder to use, I do feel the site needs to be more secure and if that comes at the expen
se of ease of use, I personally am fine with it, I mean, I'm on sites that you log in, it sends you a temporary access code to your phone, you have to do a captcha and put that code in, THEN it takes you to a secure login page where you ge a temporary password for that session...I'm not saying you guys need to go to that level of security, but as of right now on the surface it does seem spam bots are overrunning the site and nothing's being done too quick about it. Seriously, mods, please if you can delet ethe spam bot posts and ban the accounts.

Re: very serious security issue with the site

@Slender: That's fighting words, sir. I left my white glove at home...Seriously though, hopefully it stays fixed, I'm not having any script errors on latest Firefox though Dark, maybe try different browsers and see which work best? Chrome's giving me a metric ton of erros and a broken format with the site so I went back to FF to use the site as is.That, and I prefer FF as is. FF and NVDA/Orca suits me fine personally.

Stop bots problem

2017-02-17 Thread AudioGames . net ForumSite and forum feedback : DracoSelene89 via Audiogames-reflector

Stop bots problem

I have a major issue with the automated stop bot part of the forum. Every single time I post from my laptop (since I was randomly logged out of my desktop...) I get the pun stop bots screen, and regardless of what answer I put in, it kicks it back as a wrong answer. For instance it can ask me for the name of the site, I put the right answer in, it reloads the page with the same question and acts as if I never answered the question. Can you guys take a look at this please as it's highly annoying to have to fight through this every single post.bEDIT: Okay, that's just weird, there's absolutely questions that are broken in the stop bots thing, that's for sure but why is it flagging every single post I do as a potential spam bot post? I even got the page when opening a new tab to check new posts in the new releases forum, does it think I'm trying to throw spam posts out there or something?
