In the case of the Uralda quest, its a good idea. There might be another way to succeed though, sometimes sending people who dont worship the quests god can be a good idea too. Some other quests obviously require other stats: Issaries bargaining, Lhankor Mhy custom and so on. It should be mostly obvious.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=171609#p171609

Re: king of dragon pass help

Hi,Something you dont seem to realize is that the quests are just as random as the rest of the events. The stories themselves dont change, but the choices you make wont always have the same outcome. Think of it as a dice roll. your leaders skills are being tested, and sometimes the test fails. its even possible to pick options that arent quite how the story is supposed to go, and still succeed. The only time a quest is definitely lost is if you are lost in the realm of the gods, which should only happen if you have completely gone off the rails. In the particular quest your talking about, if you are hurt too badly by the biting things, you might walk right past the camp and never notice it. You would then be lost. That doesnt mean that the quest is permanently incomplete, however. You might have better luck with the next quester. I will say though that that particular quest is the hardest of the lot, because the followers of the cow
goddess dont usually have good combat skills.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=171465#p171465

Re: king of dragon pass help

Yes, you can. You can run quests as many times as you like, though its smart to wait a while between attempts, as your ring will tell you. Theres no real point to multiple benefits for each one if you cant run through them more than once.A final note: did you actually lose the game? You only need to do those two quests in your ten years as tribal king, not within ten years of founding the tribe. Its fine to wait a while if you arent wealthy enough to become king in the first election. The long game, by the way, is a lot more fun. You dont have as much time pressure to do things, and theres a much bigger story that unfolds. I highly recommend it.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=171350#p171350

Re: king of dragon pass help

Hi,Theres a misunderstanding here, Im afraid. To start with, you cant actually see the tribal obligations without looking back over the saga screen for the year you founded the tribe. This is because many of these obligations are automatically taken care of—sacrifices, for instance. Others, like agreeing to support a specific clan, are only a problem in specific events. Still others, like exploration, you can probably take care of on your own easily. The answer to your second question about sacrifices is no, you dont need to sacrifice to any other gods to learn the secrets for Chalana Aroys quest. Some gods myths arent as detailed as others, and so some dont have secrets. If you know all the mysteries fora particular god, you know all you need to know about their story. Finally, tribal mood is kind of hard to influence. Having a king with good leadership skill is important, but so is remembering what you promised other clans sometimes. HeroQuests can also improve mood, of course, and it might be worth embarking on another run of Storm Tribe, for instance.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=171315#p171315

Re: Roguelike Radio ep on designing for VI

Ive played many roguelikes using the Linux console and Speakup screenreader, its not a bad combination at all. You just need a good sense of orientation, and to be familiar with screen reader commands to, say, tell ou the coordinates of map squares of interest. Granted, that last could be nice if modded into the game proper.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=165841#p165841

Hi ALl,I thought Id explain that the reason the emulator doesnt like switching windows has to do with its keyboard emulation. Its extremely low-level, more so than most Windows programs youll be familiar with. Basically, its still receiving input even if you arent focused on it anymore.
