Re: Pocket Dungeon: Underground Labyrinth

For me, sometimes simple is ok. I started out with Small RPG and am actually enjoying it so far. I like it because like someone said above, its something you can play for 5 minutes or 30 and still make progress. Some of the translation is a bit iffy in that the equipment descriptions are sometimes hard to figure out in that which sword is better, the one with a plus symbol or # symbol etc? I also love when you reach the evil king, the description says something like evil king, he has come to you because he was tired of waiting! Considering that it is free though, it is quite well done and I feel like after finishing it, I am better equipped for pocket dungeon. It also reminds me of some of the dungeon crawlers from the 80s/90s that I played with sighted friends, better late than never that I can play such a thing on my own with out the hastle of using a virtual cursor or memorizing what this or that ascii character
 means.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=169060#p169060

Re: Tin Star an Old West adventure released for ios/android

This game is spectacular, the best choice game Ive played next to zombie exodus, slammed and the hero projects. However, I do wish there were guides/walkthroughs for the choice of/hosted games. Zombie has one on its website for some missions in parts 3/4 but that is all Ive found. Once I finish a game a few times and unfortunately dont get the best ending most of the time lol, I would love to be able to read a guide and get the best of everything for a game, especially life of a wizard, the super hero themed hero project games and slammed. I am stuck in the championship match in slammed, wonder if it is even possible to win? Anyhow, tin is definitely worth the price. Have been replaying chapter 4 probably at least 5 times now, anyone have any hints on how to go about getting the best of them outlaws?URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php

Re: [Audiogames-reflector] Dungeon rpg Game similar to kerkerkruip

Re: Dungeon rpg Game similar to kerkerkruip

NVDA for me, seems to read most text automatically after typing in a command. When it reads randomly which seems to happen the further you progress, the review cursor NVDA plus up/down arrows to move by line seems to work fine. As you go forward, NVDA seems to read various symbols such as left bracket and right bracket, I am assuming a textual map is being drawn as you move through the dungeon? Other than that, the game is quite enjoyable, not as complex as Kerkerkruip. I would love to get in to Kerkerkruip as well but the NVDA review cursor seems a little weird in that it keeps repeating lines as you review and the only way to hear certain status and other information is to let it auto read text after entering commands. I am using the windows git interpreter with the NVDA add on. I am also looking for a comprehensive walkthrough but I do understand that such a game doesnt really require one because of the randomness etc. Unfortunate
ly reading the built in help is also a little annoying with NVDA although I will look at the beginners pdf guide.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=165846#p165846

Re: SKULLGIRLS - fully accessible mainstream fighting game [PC]

What is the link to your updated steam guide? Also, must you disable your screen reader such as jaws for SAPI to read the game? I primarily use jaws but will consider installing NVDA to try this game.@fastfinge Speaking of that, its just great that I have to try using a screen reader that Ive never used before with an error prone OCR plugg in. Although maybe, just maybe jaws will do a decent job.About system requirements, I have an older laptop dual core 2.5 ghz, 3gb ram, with intel 4 series express chipset so perhaps this game will run slowly. I will soon be installing windows 7 on a quad core macbook pro whenever I can get sighted assistance.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=163587#p163587

Just a thought, is there a mobile site or IOS app that might make getting a steam account more accessible? I would assume not.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=163614#p163614

Re: SKULLGIRLS - fully accessible mainstream fighting game [PC]

[[wow]], this sounds spectacular. For those who have tried the accessibility features, I would assume you would disable your screen reader and SAPI reads the text? I saw that say tools has support for jaws/nvda etc. I have a huge issue with steam however. I would gladly pay for this game accessible or not since system requirements seem pretty low and I always love a good 2d fighter. However I am a little old fashioned in that I dont want to be tied down to a half accessible client in order to even obtain the game in the first place. I would rather just have the game on a disk or as a download and just use a registration code. Security isnt an issue since back in the day GMA tank commander used your hardware ID as a piracy blocker. If an older audio game for the blind could do something like that, surely an indy developer could as well. I just wanna connect my controller, sleep/disable screen reader, hit enter on the
game.exe file and have fun. I use to do that with mortal kombat 4, street fighter alpha etc through menu memorization. If someone can, please let the developer know that steam distribution is far from ideal for a blind player and if they are putting work in to accessibility and expect the blind to purchase and advertise that fact, they should consider an accessible distribution method as well as having an accessibility mode start menu/desktop shortcut. This could be such a huge step forward for mainstream game accessibility, demonstrated at game developers conferences, blindness conventions in the united states, written about on various blindness blogs/podcasts/magazines, who knows. But with out an accessibility framework from the ground up, this may perhaps go nowhere.Ok, rant on steam and other things is over.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=163537#p163537

Re: 100% Audio MMORPG that can be played hands-free

I just signed up yesterday also. Sounds like a great project to make accessible especially on IOS rather than on windows/mac, the blind has a decent IOS game selection but most are still text only such as the choice of games titles, never updated from initial releases or not really playable such as audio invaders. That one was a great concept.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=157226#p157226
