It really isn't that hard to use from the GUI's perspective, if you take the tame to learn it. I may do a podcast on it.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=167817#p167817

Re: Games under linux

Hi.Hmm, I don't have a lot of experience with Linux but I think it is in the same situation as the Macintosh. No one seems to be developing any accessible games for it. Everyone seems to be using BGT now which is Windows only.I would recommend using VmWare Player like everyone else has said.Speaking of that, VMWare pisses me off. Why do they give Linux and Windows users VmWare Player but all us Mac users have to put up with Fusion which costs $60 or something and you have to upgrade it annually or something like that.I would use virtual box if I could, believe me but it's not accessible.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=167811#p167811

Re: Games under linux

I found VirtualBox to be a tad bit snappier than VMWare, but that's probably because I have shoddy hardware.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=167694#p167694

Re: Games under linux

SLJ, Virtualbox is a virtual machine similar to VMWare Player. It is sort of accessible, but requires a lot of command line access to use it because the graphical user interface is not accessible. That's why I recommended VMWare Player above instead of Virtualbox.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=167498#p167498

Choose your furniture in function of your lifestyle. If you have children or pets, you should buy furniture that is office furniturestain resistant. Choose darker colors so stains or scratches are less noticeable. If you do not have pets or children, do not hesitate to purchase some lighter colors if this is the style you want.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=167467#p167467

A good Linux game is Open Arena. It isn't blind specific, but it's good shooter nonetheless.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=167452#p167452

Re: Games under linux

Niklas, I am a Linux user, and it is possible to play some accessible Windows games under Linux using Wine but not all. If you intend to use Wine you are going to have some difficulty setting things up because Wine is not real accessible and there are several dependencies that will need sighted assistance to be installed such as Visual Basic 6, DirectX 9.0C, perhaps .NET Framework, Sapi, etc. Then, of course, all of the games you intend to play. However, the problem with Wine is because it is an emulator a lot of games will crash or not run correctly under Wine. You might get half way through a level in Shades of Doom, press enter to open a door, and the game bombs out unexpectedly on you. So truth be told playing Windows games under Linux using Wine is not a really great solution. What I suggest in stead, if you are serious about using Linux, is to get VMWare Player and install Windows in a virtual machine. Things will run a bit slower than on a native Windows machine, but
it will be more stable and dependable than running Windows games inside Wine. As a fairly heavy Linux user myself virtual machines is often what I use when I want to maintain using Linux as my primary OS, but need to use Windows to develop certain software or to continue playing games etc that are Windows only.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=167433#p167433
