There is another service called Pogoplug or something like that. HOw does this system work? Id understand this if little technical jargon is used and if kinaesthetic analogy concepts are implied.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=164312#p164312

[Audiogames-reflector] Wuala And Bitcasa. Two Fully Accessible Dropbox Replacements!

Wuala And Bitcasa. Two Fully Accessible Dropbox Replacements!

IntroductionAs we all know, Dropbox, totally not as blind-friendly as they once were back in the day. Still indeed usable, however certainly that context menu does have a terrible time with us blinks, and we all! know which menu that is... And even though you can use the dropbox app via your PC, just like with google drive, it can take up a bit of room on your PC and in the cloud, if you are subscribed to many folders, especially if ya only have between 2/3 GB! And in the case of Dropbox on the web unlike with gDrive, usable, though annoying! In the next two sections, I will give ya a quick overview of the two Dropbox replacements mentioned in this threads title, and in the 3rd section after those two, a special surprise for the AG community! BitcasaUnlike the apps for Google Drive and Dropbox for example, your files arent stored on your computer inside a Windows/File Explorer Dropbox folder. Instead, your files can be
found from within your drives list, thus acting like a network drive. The drive letter, which you can use in the address bar/run dialog box, is normally: I:, where I, stands for the word Infinite. In Windows/File Explorer Bitcasa context menu, you are able to do local actions, such as share links to files, mirror a folder, so you have an alternate copy for backup. The installation of Bitcasa may require the use of a mouse method, either via the pointer or the physical mouse. Once dealt with however, the program itself should be easy-going for ya! For free accounts, you get 5 GB to start out with. You can earn additional Bonus Bits, by doing certain things, like following them on Twitter or liking them on Facebook. The My Bitcasa page, is where you can browse your files via the web, delete them, move them, etc. However, I have not dived in to all of the web side of Bitcasa myself. Of course, yo
u can update your account info too, particularly adding a secret question in the Security section, as you dont have one by default. Ah, and back to those Bonus Bits for a second, on that account page, is where ya can find the page, to get those extra bits!WualaWuala, is a service I just signed up with, and truly, its Dropbox on steroids! And not just because that context menu actually works right... You get 5 GB to start out with, however just like with most services you can get more for frer in some easy way. Two of the biggest things that make Wuala more powerful than dropbox, is that:1. You are able to be apart of different groups, and also find! groups of interest as well.2. Wuala has keyboard shortcuts! For example, ctrl-f8, puts the view in detailed view. Ya may have
to press tab once to make sure you are focused in the treeview of folders or file list. You are also able to copy files from Wuala to Windows/File Explorer, or sync them as well.My Gift And Surprise To You, The AG Community! For those of you interested in checking out Wuala, please take a trip on over to my Wuala Referral Page , and make sure! to copy the promo/referral code you see on my page, in to the Promo Code edit box when you sign up, or ya wont get your extra 1024 MB of space! For those of you interested in checking out Bitcasa, use my Bitcasa Referral Link , and get 1 GB of extra space once ya sign up! ConclusionI hope you enjoy either one or both of these services, and if ya have any questions/comments, sound off here!URL: http://foru

Re: Wuala And Bitcasa. Two Fully Accessible Dropbox Replacements!

Personally, Im using BT sync from:http://www.yeasoft.com/site/projects:bt … ync-serverThats the link to install it on Debian, via terminal. Note that the windows client is mostly inaccessible, so if you need your bt sync files on that platform, youll need to use a solution like WebDav. But it works fine on Linux server, Linux desktop, IOS, OS X, and android. For the other clients, go to:http://www.bittorrent.com/syncBut if youre on Windows, as I say, dont bother; you cant add new folders.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=164037#p164037

Re: Wuala And Bitcasa. Two Fully Accessible Dropbox Replacements!

Hi trendon and others, I am trying to move my game recordings folder from dropbox to wuala to save space. I created a group for storing files, but I want it to be able to sync with my computer the way dropbox shared folders do. I tried to set up a sync connection between the computer and Wuala for this folder but the option was unavailable. Is there any way to do it? would rather not upload every game recording I make to wuala; it would be easier to just drop it in a folder and let the file upload in the background like dropbox. Also when uploading files wuala uploads use your entire computers processing power, slowing it to a crawl until you pause. Is there any way to cut down on all the power used?URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=164053#p164053

Re: Wuala And Bitcasa. Two Fully Accessible Dropbox Replacements!

@burak: Well, youre right. But whats the point of just adding a shared folder to one computer? I did try using the review cursor of NVDA, but even then I couldnt find the ID to copy. I dont have an actual mouse attached to the computer though, so maybe thats it. Do you mean you have to move an actual mouse around with your hand to find it?URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=164057#p164057

Re: Wuala And Bitcasa. Two Fully Accessible Dropbox Replacements!

Hi everyone!First, once you open Wuala, press F8 for detail view (which only has to be done once,) then press Tab to focus the lis view. Now, as ya know with Dropbox, syncing folders is automatic. With Wuala, you create the folder ya wish to use 1st, with ctrl-shift-N, where it defaults to: C:\users\Folder name, then press Ok if ya like the default location. Once done, just add the files to your synced folder, and there ya go!Want to unsync that folder? options in the context menu for the folder you are on.Note! Make sure, if ya want to have a folder in the root of your Wuala drive, press ctrl-space 1st, before creating the folder.Hope that helps!URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=164062#p164062

Re: Wuala And Bitcasa. Two Fully Accessible Dropbox Replacements!

BTSync is usable on windows, you just have to know your screen reader.I can use it with NVDA just fine, a little bit fiddly, but definitely usable.Removing a folder is as easy as arrowing to the folder and tabbing to the remove button.Adding one is an extra step, simply tab to add, generate a key then brows to the folder you want to sync. The reason I suggest generating the key first is because there are two unlabeled edit boxes, one is for the folder path, while the other is for the key, or Secret as they like to call it.To get the various keys just go into the folder preferences and hit the copy button. It really is great once youve played with it for a while.A couple of us ar using it to share Harry Potter Fanfiction. So far, we havent had any problems. The only drawback is, you cant link to files like these other services.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=164106#p164106
