The 2 options are for when the game lists off resources and other messages.  The short pauses uses commas and the long pauses option uses periods.  It just changes how the screen readers read the game messages.

Greetings SilverMoon.I recommend completing all missions first; only then will you understand the story line. In mission 2, you must build a war tent and raid the yeti city until there are no yeti left. In mission 3 you have to build 12 catapults. Mission 4 is like mission 1 except you have undead soldiers instead of just goblins. Mission 5 is like mission 2 except you must also build a prison and stock it with chains to procure slaves.Kind regards, Amin Abdullah.

Greetings SilverMoon.No problem. I take it you've completed all missions? Believe it or not, I was extremely tired when replying to you last night so I could have been spouting nonsense but luckily I verified my own info this morning and it turned out okay.Before I forget, it's pointless to build war tents, prisons and catapults before they're required in later missions because the game won't let you use them before their designated missions. The war tent can be built in missions 2 and 5 but the prison can only be built in mission 5. Building the prison earlier will not enable you to capture slaves. As for the merchant cart, it is completely pointless to build it unless you're in multiplayer mode. All other buildings can be built in any mission regardless as long as you edit the save file. I would never build houses again; I'll always stick to Tudor houses.Kind regards, Amin Abdullah.

Greetings SilverMoon.I don't think there is any document that gives mission parameters unless you have a language file for castaways. You can of course press ` before doing anything to get the mission parameters and it's also saved in your save file. Search for goblin in your save file and you should come across the mission objective if you didn't do anything else and overrode the mission objective message. I don't know why it's so easy to over-ride. If you lose the message, just create and over-ride the save file with the same mission objective like before.from within the game itself.Kind regards, Amin Abdullah.

That's right. As long as you've edited the second value below the name of the building AKA the hospital, it should say hospital, 1E+36 instead of hospital, 5 or hospital, 0.

Greetings SilverMoon.I don't know why it's doing that, it should not. You'll have to edit your save file if you want to continue with it. Once you open it up in notepad, search for Hospital with a capital h; all buildings are capitalized. The second value under the hospital is the one you want. The highest value you can set any resource is 1E+36 which means infinite as far as castaways is concerned. However, I recommend you start a new game if you don't like editing your save file. Having said that, you can still build all previously mentioned buildings if you edit their names. Let's say you wanted to build a wall on A8. Build a house and save right away unless you want to build the wall faster. For the fast method, wait until the house has all building materials then save before completion. Open the save file in notepad and search for House, with the comma. Replace House, with Wall, and save and exit notepad. Load the game and you'll have a wa
 ll on A8 instead of a house. Do this with any building you want. As for tomes, you have to change one of the bottom values in notepad. Open the save file and search for your name. Look for the second instance and go up 3 values. The third 0 from your name is the tomes. Edit it to 1e+36 and you're good to go.A fun cheat, especially if you do it with the newly born. If you change the first value under each name to 18, you can instantly make them pregnant! It makes life much easier and you can do it with men, women and children. The children will instantly become adults when you do this and after they give birth, they all become peasants!Kind regards, Amin Abdullah.

Hello, thanks for responding.yes, they are open, everything is open I checked. The hospital has been complete, this problem just arose earlier today. Before that, things have been flowing rather nicely.I'm only on mission one actually, so haven't gotten the tomes and monasteries and such.

Greetings SilverMoon.Firstly, in order to cancel a construction, press enter on the building you want to cancel then press shift delete to cancel. If the building has materials before cancellation then you will lose half of the materials in the construction site. Secondly, make sure the hospital is complete and also make sure it's open. Press enter on the building in question to bring up the building information; use up and down arrow keys to go up or down the menu and when you get to 'open' or 'closed' then press backspace if it's closed to open the building. You will want a doctor to heal your wounded and ill. Finally, if you're up to it, play around with your save file; you can even build buildings you normally cannot if you edit it. I've been known to build Tudor houses, walls, animal farms, stables, monasteries, war tents, prisons and the like in mission 1 and above even before such buildings become available in the building menu
 . Also, you can never get enough tomes so get as many as possible and upgrade as many as possible with shift U if you have at least 1 tome.Kind regards, Amin Abdullah.

yes, I did when I did it. I even thought maybe I had to go in to the building menu thing like the thing you get when you hit enter on it. But that wasn't one of the options. I triet backspace, just for laughs and giggles, but that didn't work either. I tried shift delete, again just for laughs and giggles, and nothing.

Castaways 2 is still only a beta version, and it has major changes planned for whenever I get time to work on them.  It is definitely a different game than the first Castaways game, and may be worth checking out after you've beaten Castaways 1.

That would be Castaways 1 then.  The multiplayer portion of that game is eventually going to be moved over to a new system, but in the mean time it is not using game accounts.  That is why there isn't a place to enter your account information.Once it is finally moved over, accounts will be required.

I don't know? I wasn't aware there was more than one? I just went to your website, and the first heading there, it says castaways, and I downloaded it. is there a difference between one and two? Second question, I look in the read me.txt and it says to cancel a construction to hit the delete key. I do that, but it does all of nothing. I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion on that?
