Although if you're looking at the series from this person's point of view, PM really doesn't have much to do with it, so like they said you could just tack it on at the end for extra fluff or something. But to answer your question... it's a specific way of watching Star Wars that supposedly focuses the story more on Luke, while not spoiling anything for new viewers and is supposed to flow better.
