@18:Pretty cool! I of course don't have a Samsung phone myself but I've heard a lot from demonstrations and YouTube videos. It really does seem under-rated. Apparently there's also a feature to earn points for asking Bixby some questions. Is that true?

Re: For an experiment I want to try, what Android device do you use

@17, I said equivalent, not competetor. Their goal was to make it the equivalent, but I agree 100% that the two used together is the best combination. Bixby vision's food, place and live translation features are also cool in theory, though I haven't used any of those modes much. I do like the bixby briefing with your alarm though that usually covers weather, and the fact that it plays different music based on weather conditions is awesome.

Samsung may have made Bixby to be a competitor, but using them both together and not limiting yourself to one can really let you do some powerful stuff. You could use Google Assistant for searching the web and factual information, and you could use Bixby for phone operations. They are both good at their own things.

Hi.Well, if the Samsung apps could convince me to not call them bloatware, surely I can deal with them, the only samsung phone I have seen recently is the stone age old galaxy s3 mini of my mother and that thing is a pain in the butt.I'll hop by an electronics store today and see if they have any of the models you guys suggested around.Greetings Moritz.

Re: For an experiment I want to try, what Android device do you use

In the case of the creator of this thread, you are right, but as said above, it depends on the user. There are Samsung users for example which primarily use Samsung's apps and actually consider Google's apps to be the bloatware.

Through the telegram group, which someone will have to provide a link to. And Samsung's loatware is all apps at don't take up anything other than a few mb of space. I use my Galaxy s10 all the time and experience minimal lag or crashes. And Blotware is only bloat if you don't find a use for it... the samsung internet and email apps are both useful, and Bixby, their equivalent to Google Assistantis very underrated.

Re: For an experiment I want to try, what Android device do you use

I agree with people saying Pixel 3A. I mean, especially if you want to experiment and are not sure you will stay on Android, perhaps considering a midrange phone instead of a flagship would be a better choice. If you want one nonetheless, the most affordable and closer to stock Android you can get are the OnePlus 7 and Asus Zenfone 6, or probably a Pixel 2 XL which is from 2017 but will still get Android 10 and 11.

Re: For an experiment I want to try, what Android device do you use

Commentary has evolved so much since you last looked at it from the sounds of things. It's extremely customisable and there are only few areas in the settings that aren't in English but that's not really a problem because you can assign an on-screen gesture or a volume key/shake gesture to translate the currently focused item. Seriously, check it out. It's really cool.

Re: For an experiment I want to try, what Android device do you use

I'd go with a google pixel 3a, if your looking for a lower end phone that still meets your needs, but has no flagship features. And in regard to the j6 having no blowware? um? Samsung, loves blow ware. that's a fact. A sad one, but a fact none the less. It's defenatly noticeable. If your looking for a higher end, i'd say a normal google pixel 3, they run stock android, I mean, they are google, after all. BTW, this is coming from a 3 year android user. You will get some lag when scrolling on webpages, but other then that, I've had no problems with it.HTH

@3:I've heard roomers about Google phones getting a noticeable performance decrease after a couple of months using them. If it's possible, could you confirm if this is true or not?@4:If we're talking about software keyboards, you know you can just install another one and use that instead, right? I didn't even know Motorola had their own software keyboard, it didn't come bundled with my phone.

Re: For an experiment I want to try, what Android device do you use

HI.An inexpensive phone, is a Samsung J6. I use 1. It does everything you require, has minimal bloatware, to the point you barely remember them, and it handles audio and sighted games wonderfully. I heard Motorollas are great as well, but i haven't tried them. I used a motorolla keyboard once, and after that, i immediately said, my samsung keyboard was laid out better. So its up to you. Go do some research, see what fits your budget. After this j6, I was going to get an A50 or A70.

Re: For an experiment I want to try, what Android device do you use

I use a Motorola G7 Power. It's considered a budget phone but has some features that really sets it apart. For one, the battery is phenomenal! It lasts for days without having to be charged and it supports quick-charging right out of the box. You just plug the USBC cable into the phone and it takes a couple of hours to fully charge. The processing power isn't exactly anything spectacular but it will most certainly handle your requirements. About the Android version, It's running Android 8 [Orio] but may or may not be updated that much in the future. I can say that I'm still getting security updates and it doesn't really come with too much bloat, just a couple of Motorola apps and they can potentially be useful. TalkBack is slightly laggy so I'd recommend checking out Commentary Screen reader.

For an experiment I want to try, what Android device do you use

hey and good morning.I want to try a little experiment over the course of the next weeks or months and for that I need the help of those who use Android on their phones.Because I'm not one of those total apple fanboy people and instantly say that Android is not usable for blind people, i want to test out if I am able to use an Android for 2 or more weeks, primarily and in a productive way.But I'm not sure which device I should try getting, so here is what the device needs to be able to handle.Check social networks like facebook, Whatsapp, Skype and read E-Mails.Watch videos on Youtube and Netflics.Play media via Spotify and audible.Comfortable web browsing without aany big lags.Online banking.Play games eventually.so, no big performance stuff, it should have enough power though if you need any.It also would be good if you can either uninstall all of the bloatware or if the device already comes with a clean and not so overloaded Android, if possible the most recent or at leased the last version of the OS for most recent security and accessibility updates. So, I don't know if such a device exists, but do you Android users have any tips?Greetings Moritz.
