Assuming they do the same on any other encrypted traffic, an assumption that I think is fair though I havent checked it, if you connect to a second VPN through Privatize VPN, they will now have your username and password for that second VPN! If you have used that username and password with any other service, you will need to change it. Also, as most VPN providers do not offer a different username and password for billing, you should assume that privatize now has access to any account information (name, address, credit card info, etc) that you gave your second VPN provider. You must assume that all data you send through the privatize service is, at best, getting sold to advertisers, but more likely, is being used for identity theft and other criminal activity. If you absolutely *must* use privatize, it should be the last VPN in the chain, and you should never, ever, send any login details, OAuth tokens, or anything else even remotely private when youre connected. That means remembering to disable services like Google Drive and Dropbox, close your email, Twitter, and Facebook clients, turn off any instant messengers like Skype, etc, etc, etc, before sending absolutely any traffic through privatize. Even a virtual machine might not help you if, for example, that virtual machine has your Microsoft account on it, and Microsoft phones home for any particular reason, thus sending Privatize the details of your Microsoft account. Yes, they should check certificate validity. However, I am not absolutely sure every service does this, and even if they did, privatize could always start installing certificate authorities in the programs that will accept them, as they ask you to install custom software anyway. I dont go in for the whole out-of-premise torrenting arrangement just yet, because I dont think I need it yet; my speeds are plenty fast enough as they are, Im too stupid to defend myself against the wankers that be, and honestly I still prefer Usenet for a lot of stuff. No doubt this is all going to change as Usenet is stamped on every bit as hard as BitTorrent is, but as long as we have magnet and free anonymising proxies to retrieve the torrents, Im set. Id be curious if it could actually give you download speeds as fast as your internet connection could handle. Personally, I use a seedbox which, incidentally, comes with a free OpenVPN account for my out-of-country streaming pleasure. Plus, if you use a seedbox, you dont have to give out your private torrent tracker usernames and passwords to an unknown VPN. There is an online index of news group binary files i use to find files, upload it to the server, and then the server takes care of the actual downloading of all the parts.
