Re: Free Instrument VST Recommendations
Re: Free Instrument VST Recommendations Also, I don't particularly want to fork out hundreds of dollars for software and updates, though I'd expect it's not as expensive if you're upgrading from an older version. I mean, the full version of the Ultimate Collecter's Edition for the pre-order of Komplete 13 is over one-thousand dollars! Though it does come with a terabyte library, and I expect that people who will be using it really know what they're doing. Re: Free Instrument VST Recommendations
Re: Free Instrument VST Recommendations Still want a good electric guitar vst that is accessible. I just upgraded to the collector's version of Komplete12 and am now just waiting on my new drive to get all of this set upp, but I don't know if it comes with any good guitar stuff worth writing home about or that is straight up accessible. That always seems to be the case though; we end up with something we seriously want to use because it sounds good, like thrill, but it's not as accessible as it sounds. I'll still end up having fun in the end, I guess, but I cannot deny I'd like more accessibility in general. I hate feeling like I can't hold a candle to my sighted counterparts, as it were, or like I have to work twice as hard to produce something simple when I can see them doing it in a matter of seconds on youtube. Re: Free Instrument VST Recommendations
Re: Free Instrument VST Recommendations IN fact, you should. Not only does that give you the advantage of learning the instrument which you can play at any time, but it also allows you a greater advantage when playing it in midi form, since you are already aware of the kinds of dynamics different articulations can cause. Picking on a guitar closer to the fretboard sounds very different to picking closer to the bridge. Picking up and down sounds diferent. Picking with different parts of the pick sounds different. Picking with different materials sounds different. Palm muting and picking sounds diferent. Finger picking sounds different! Re: Free Instrument VST Recommendations
Re: Free Instrument VST Recommendations Unfortunately not, and just a heads up most good instruments are not going to be free. Especially, especially! guitars. These aren't your average let's record all the strings and then change the pitch-level sampling. Every movement is meticulously sampled, and in OrangeTree's case there is a cord voicing engine that actually makes cords and strumming sound natural. That stuff costs a lot of money and resources. Re: Free Instrument VST Recommendations
Re: Free Instrument VST Recommendations Even as a hobbyest, why risk burnout b traversing all these inaccessible barriers knowing there's a better way? And if I'm being completely honest, $129 is not half bad for a keyboard and 8gb of starter instruments. Oh, and you can sell/give the ABleton Live license you get with the keyboard to someone else who can benefit from it, as Ableton is notoriously inaccessible. Luckily, the license can be exhanged. So you'd even be getting some money back if you wanted to sell it. Re: Free Instrument VST Recommendations I, in turn, am looking for free vst effects. If it's not too much to ask and anyone has any they wish to share, I'd be more than happy to at least try them out. I'll be working with reaper more often than not, so there's that, and I'm not limiting myself to much other than the obvious accessibility, documentation if absolutely necessary because it requires some to learn or, well, whatever. I do intend to purchase some stuff later and will more than likely be asking about that as well, but for now, I'll start with the freebees and work my way up. Re: Free Instrument VST Recommendations
Re: Free Instrument VST Recommendations Try the Addictive Drums demo version. You get three demo drum kits that do not expire, and it works pretty well in Sibiac. Realistic-sounding saxophone? That's almost impossible to find for free. Indeed, even the one in Xpand2 (great value, by the way) is honestly not worth writing home about. Xpand2 is a really good rompler, and if you can find it on a discount, take it. Absolute no-brainer.
