Re: Give input on Xbox accessibility They only just announced (in March) the ability for game developers to make use of the text to speech functionality, so there aren't any games that use it yet, it'll take a little while. But there are games that have good enough audio for the gameplay to be playable, and there are menu guides available on these forums. Other than that it's the system menus and I think some apps too (e.g. amazon video?) that are accessible. Re: Give input on Xbox accessibility
Re: Give input on Xbox accessibility At the moment you wonn't be able to play football manager 2017 but you will be able to navigate the console's dashboard, party chat, messages, store and also game invites, which is the key difference from the 360: you can play online if you want to now, and also buy digital only games as well directly from the console. Re: Give input on Xbox accessibility well my main reason is my 2 sons play the xbox 1 and they play grand theft auto and ark respectively,to me accessible is certainly more preferable, but if its the case of loading up a game and randomly pressing buttons hoping you make the correct selection I see there being no difference in just using the old xbox 360.this thread lead me to believe the console would read out all page elements, so if I bought an exbox 1 and football manager 2017 as the game is primarily text based the narrator would read the screen. Re: Give input on Xbox accessibility
Re: Give input on Xbox accessibility Yes, you have been living in a cave for quite some time. Narrator, Microsofts screenreader have also been in the XBox 1 for quite some time, and there have been a lot of topics about it on the forum as well. Regarding playable games, there are actually more playable games on the ps4. But the screenreader on the XBox is awesome, and not restricted to the US like the screenreader on the ps4.So, the question is: Do you want the most accessible solution, or do you want the console which have most playable games? Also keep in mind that no console games are made with blind gamers in mind, so console games which are playable are not fully accessible like an audiogame where everything speaks, but playable mainstream games which can be played by blind people who have enough patience to do so. Therefore, I'll recommend you to make some research on what you want before going out and buy something, which not might work as you expect. Re: Give input on Xbox accessibility
Re: Give input on Xbox accessibility I will hopefully get to post there in a bit, but for now I'll put some stuff here too. Is there a bug reports forum or is their uservoice just for ideas? The bug I found goes as thus:Is it just me, or have any fellow audiogame forumights noticed the xbox store really lag at times with narrator? I'm on a regular xbox one. When I goto the xbox store tab and click browse games, occasionally the thing will really start to lag when I use the d-pad to move around. There's also a bug with narrator whereby sometimes when I go into narrator mode with the controller and go up and down, it will suddenly freeze for about two seconds, and say command not available, losing it's focus.Apart from that I love the xbox one.
