Re: How are games actively translated into English (re: Dreamy Train)

JGT is the smoothest option for sure if all you want to do is play games in Japanese and have it pull from Google translate without you having to copy and paste. Post 2 pretty much nailed it, and there are other apps like q-translate as well, though that does require some additional tools like something to automatically read your clipboard aloud. And JGT works for a multitude of Japanese games, of course.

Re: How are games actively translated into English (re: Dreamy Train)

Greetings, Google translate of course works everywhere, not just on Android. However, of course it would be very teadious to copy the text, paste to Google translate, and get the result every time. That is  why Ian Reed has created a helpful NVDA addon called JGT, which stands for Japanese games translator and which has a mode called auto translate last spoken. Once you enable it, anything Japanese in a game will automatically be translated to English. You can read more at https://blindgamers.com/Home/JGTUserGuideThis is what people use most often, though there are a few other general purpose NVDA translate addons as well made for other languages and not limited  to games.

How are games actively translated into English (re: Dreamy Train)

I've seen some mention about a game called Dreamy Train on here recently and the description of it peaked my interest, until I saw a not-so-helpful note in the Audiogames Database saying that a translator app can be used to translate it into English.I don't have an Android so can't use Google Translate as the description suggests (plus I don't even think this is a mobile game.)So I'm rather confused at this point. I'd like to play this game but don't know how to translate it. If others have done it and there's a database entry for it, there's obviously been success with translating from Japanese to English.I'm using Windows 10 with NVDA.How would I play this Japanese game? Thanks for your help!
