Re: Interactive Fiction Needs You Yeah Aaron I wish their was more complex RPG style or open world IF as well, but thankfully the IFDB has a tag for built in hints so that takes care of much of it, plus they often have links to walkthroughs if you need them. You'll find difficulty ratings sometimes too and the other tags should help you find out if a game is particularly puzzle heavy or advanced before hand, along with the user reviews which are sorted by helpfulness.A guy called Math Brush makes several useful lists too that should help you find more narrative driven games or those more for beginners that will have less difficult puzzles. And siria, those suggestions are spot on. You always have so much useful info to give about IF and I end up giving you at least one thumbs up every time their is a new topic where someone ends up asking what games to try.Your knowledge is really impressive! Maybe you should try making some lists on IFDB your self? I'm sure they'd be appreciated! Kerkerkruip was awesome! I've pretty much been playing Choice of Games and some Twine games here and there, Choice of Games is my absolute go to though. I may apply but I don't really know.Well, these games aren't really asking you to solve puzzles, they'res specifically designed to test accessibility software. In one case, it's generally expected that screen reader users will get stuck somewhere, but there are complete walkthroughs and guides provided. Re: Interactive Fiction Needs You
Re: Interactive Fiction Needs You Aaron,, have you tried the games with a limited parser? They tell you the commands you can use right at the start of the game, so there's no guessing the verb. I'm thinking about The Wizard Sniffer and Eat Me. Also, now the hint sistem is becoming more and more part of the game itself, I'm still looking at the Wizard Sniffer here. Finally, if you want something puzzly that's easy but also clever, I suggest you try out Lost Pig... No limited parser, but the solutions are very logic. Interactive Fiction Needs You Hey all,As per this blog post, which honestly probably should have been shared on this site earlier, the Interactive Fiction accessibility committee is in need of blind test subjects, er, testers. All applicants will be considered. We basically need you to play two short games of interactive fiction, one written in the Inform programming language and the other with Twine, and report back on your experiences. You will get a small gift-card for your trouble, and hopefully help making one of the oldest forms of accessible gaming that much better for everyone. Please contact the author of the blog post as indicated if you're able to participate. The deadline for testing is February 4. We could use as many IF fans as we can get up to that point. Thanks much for your help!
