Re: Introduction to programming through game design workshop

I sort of wish there was a design class like this for adults, but the fact that students are being taught this is a good thing. I saw this in one of my blind tech news letters as well.

Hi, I understand that this program is for kids above the age of ten but I would like to know what the maximum age might be?

Re: Introduction to programming through game design workshop

Python yes, with a custom editor designed to  send code to the Micro:bit with a single keypress coded especially for blind micro:bit users and not available to the general public.

Re: Introduction to programming through game design workshop

Hi,International students are welcomed on a case-by-case basis with the understanding that online meetings will happen to suit a UK timetable and there may be higher postage costs for equipmentAnd we spell program the US way when referring to  software rather than programme (with an extra m and an e) when referring to television or radio programming.

Re: Introduction to programming through game design workshop

All right, rather interesting, but a fewww questions,1. Is this available to international students? I didn't see any mention on the matter.2. Is the money in pounds or US? I'm guessing its a UK effort, however he spelt "Programme" the American way so I got confused. 3. Awesome. thanks for sharing.4. I believe this would be better suited in the devs room.

Introduction to programming through game design workshop

Hello,Given that this is of course a gaming forum, and since some users on here likely have younger siblings, we thought this would be a good place to share this. The workshop will be aimed at children ages roughly 10 and above. They will require a computer with internet access, and will be sent a BBC Micro:bit V2 computer and necessary accessories in the post, which they will use to design and program their own handheld computer games through weekly online lessons during the first half of the spring term. No prior programming knowledge is required, and the work will be entirely based around audio and movement without any need for visual learning. Further details, contact information and the application form are available at https://seanrandall.me/micro21
