I assume that you've made sure browse mode is enabled? Are your versions of NVDA and NVDA Remote the same?

Please help me with a problem in NVDA remote

Hi guys. So I helped my friend setup his browser by using remote control on NVDA to remote his computer. But when I use his computer to go on internet, I can't use single letter to navigate around. I mean I can't press h to move to headings, k to move to links on his computer when i'm remoting his. And another problem is I can't use control to stop the speech. So, guys if any of you know where's that problem come from, please help me. Thanks  a lot and sorry for my poor english.
