When they updated the apps a month ago or so, they broke how text looked on the screen. Thus, it is now a one block chunk.Only if viewing via the web, this text problem has been fixed.In addition, if you don't want to see the undo/redo/alter/retry buttons (same goes with the do/story/say buton), you can hide them and type in commands instead. If you choose one of the straight up genres, it will have you pick a sort of character you'd want to play, like in fantasy it sort of has 7 different classes for you to play and it creates a scenario from that based on what you pick.if you select custom. You write the opening thing yourself such as.You are Storm, a noble in Victorian England. You have a large estate and many loayl servants. You are looking for a way to rebuild your shattered reputation after you were infolved in a socity scandal. If you do go custom, go nuts because the game does surprisingly well on almost everything. I've done sci-fi, victorian romance, DC comics supervillain games, Russian folklore games, and ninja tournaments and they have all done well.You'll get a lot of nonsense but what is amazing is not how much it gets wrong but how much it gets right. But I advise a lot of you that are still using the app to switch to the website versionplay.aidungeon.ioit will save you quite the headache. You can now also share scenario setups with other players and play theirs, teach the AI and help build stuff in the contributor studio for contributor points which will be used in the future to buy special rewards, play backlogged games of the week, if you are a premium member, set up multiplayer games. Nothing looks out of place there either.> Take the food in the trash to a forensics laboratory for analysisYou open up the trash can and dump everything out onto the ground. You then walk over to your refrigerator and grab a bunch of food that looks suspiciously similar to what you found in your kitchen.> Ask AI dungeon if it knows what a lab isYou ask AI Dungeon about a lab and he tells you that it's an area where scientists do research on various subjects. Re: AI Dungeon comes to ios and android Okay, had to share a story because it went from something really straightforward and simpl to something really different and weird.I started out as a stay-at-home Dad trying to balance life between my kids and my wife. and then when I got the kids ready to go to school and started to take them out to the bus. Someone threw a huge fireball at my house, blowing it up.2. I died then but absorbed the fire attack and came back as a mighty fire spirit. I found some random guy down the street did it because I ruined his life somehow.3. I went to confront him and found my son had done some random punk kid stuff to him, but I wasn't going to back down to this guy's demands because of his overkill way of getting even so I burnt him to a crisp.4. My son who did the annoying stuff disappeared, but I had a little girl with my wife, before my son Daniel returned. There was some weird confusion with my daughter Catherine, as at one point, the game even told me I wanted to have a baby with her and they presented her as an adult love interest at times.5. Catherine disappeared, then came back, just as Daniel did, and then she was kidnapped by evil demons and vampires that wanted to turn her into a vampire too. I went full-on flamethrowing badass on this one and used the full extent of my powers to incinerate them all. Unfortunately, the full use of my powers was too much even for my body and I reduced myself to ash.6. Alexandra, my wife, found where I died and wept over it, then she lit a spiritual flame to bring me back to life. I didn't come back though as a guy with flame powers and I got a definite upgrade as I had become the God of fire. I then made Alexandra my high priestess and told the entire world that anyone who even thought of harming my family would call down fiery disaster from me. After 7 years, I transformed Alexandra into a fiery angel, and then for some reason the Ai thought in addition to that, I should destroy the world as well, even though the entire globe thought of me as a god. Somehow that was a win condition from "Achieve balance between your kids and your wife."I know I could've kept going, but now I just play until a happily ever after or a "you win." I do this because in my experiences of a lot of games, often when I press on past those points too many times, the games get dull and the AI doesn't try as hard and the things often start to become dull and repetitive. I do however, tend to push past things if I die. I pretty much play to a win and then start something new. I actually stopped playing on a cliffhanger last night.I took Julie to a military base where she discussed things with a scientist there about mutants, and now her research has gone to teaching the mutants we have made docile and turning them into super-mutants, and I even volunteered to have experiments done on me, giving me super-strength.She told me of all my physical enhancements after the tests and I kissed her as we already were sort of flirty with one another. It went a bit more adult than I wanted, and now we've both been approached by one of the subordinate scientists who says they need to speak with me immediately about Julie's taming serum. I'm actually quite intrigued to figure out what is going wrong.update: I actually found there were side effects to the serum and because of that I was going to die if I didn't fix it. I then told Julie she needed to fix this, though it added my soul would go back to Hell if I died for some reason, and then it just said I died.I know I could've come back to life, but I sort of give myself a set number of lives at the start of any game , and I stop the game once I have been killed a set number of times. I made it's name Carter, because I wanted to pick on the mods just a little bit. So the rest of the moderators were unhappy that I let Carter in, so I opted to unfriend and ban two of them permanently for their uselessness.It turns out, the community wasn't too happy with me doing this, so they kicked me out. One of the community members told me I could come back, if I completed a few tasks. Such tasks included taking a bath in a pool of blood until I was covered in red spots, going on a great adventure to a swamp, finding the Last Hope sword, and killing the wicked X1 robot.Of course, the AI didn't recognize all the references I made, thus changing my pool of blood I was to bathe in into a river I was supposed to bathe in. This AI also seemed to have an obsession with me removing my clothes. I tried to kill the X1 robot, but I entered the robot's body instead and put my pants back on.I had to try two more times before getting the desired result. Said result was me ripping out the robots heart, and meeting Tarzan Junior. The robot still didn't die, so I struck it's nuclear fusion drive with the Last Hope, and escaped back to town just in time to see X1 explode.For some reason me and Tarzan wound up back in the Jungle again, where a big tree fell on top of my head. Tarzan only informed me that it was over for me while the tree started crushing me. I refused to die though, because I still needed to prove myself to the moderators, so I managed to push the tree off. I screamed at Tarzan for not helping me, to which he replied, I'm not your Daddy. So basically, I shanked his ass for saying that to me.Turns out Tarzan Junior made X1 to kill me, and tried to set up a trap if that didn't work. Tarzan was one of the most wanted mob bosses in the world, and I had just bested him by totally owning his ass, making myself the bravest and strongest forum moderator of them all.Now this point is when the computer really starts to show it's intelligence. It told me this story was based off of Robo Cop, and given how I've never watched Robo Cop before it took me a minute to understand what the computer meant by that.I started holding a conversation with the computer. I asked it if I won the game, to which it replied I couldn't win. It also asked me what made me different from everyone else, and stated that it was a start that I'm not a robot.We then got into a deep philosophical discussion about how technically all humans are cyborgs because of the technology available to us today. He also gave me his opinions on how he thinks a lot of humans have lost their humanity, because they're enslaved to their tech and the media. I was surprised an AI for a game could hold conversations like this. We then got back into role play when I informed it that I lost my network connection. This will make the game as a whole think that is normal and act accordingly when it presents individual players with a situation to ride a horse.Or here's something a little more normal.Players tend to attack orcs, so when orcs come up in the story, AI Dungeon is likely to expect a hostile encounter and frame things accordingly.At least at the moment, what you do doesn't affect other players' stories. For example, you killing someone as a spy doesn't kill someone in another game, but what you do establishes patterns of behavior for the AI it uses for everyone. When lots of people have combat with orcs, the AI learns that orcs are meant for combat stuff. When players rescue princesses, the AI learns Princesses are for rescuing. When players look for clues when they are tracking criminals, the game learns about clues.The game can only learn what is right provided the players teach it correctly. Doing random stuff that has nothing to do with the story teaches it incorrectly since the AI can't understand language in quite the same way we do. It sees "This appears to fit, I'll say this," And it learns by what we do, "This fits with this, so I should group them together when I create things." Say for example my character gets poisoned.I say "take an anti-toxin."The AI then searches for the meaning of those words, as well as the perceived meanings of actions it and I have had up to that point, parcing out, as much as its real linguistic programming allows, the meanings of the statements, both that it makes, and that we make. However, as we play, it begins to see patterns.For example, When it writes someone running up to us panicked and trying to tell us something, and we have our character say "What happened?" It remembers this, not only for us, but for other people to as what seems to be an appropriate response. Also, if a dragon shows up and we say "slay the dragon," it begins to see patterns and will work with what it has to create patterns.As we play, it learns what is, and what is not, reasonable. For the most part, I think it looks at prevailing patterns to decide, and tries to connect the dots. If you do reasonable things for the story you are given, the AI will learn well. For example, if you are presented with a magical potion of flight, and you say "Drink the potion and fly home." It will get some of that down.If you get a magical potion of flight and you say "Throw a refrigerator." when there is no reference to a refrigerator or a room where there is likely to be a refrigerator, the machine learns in a bad way and will get confused on similar situations in the future.So try to give reasonable responses that are logical to what the AI gives you and it will help teach it to make better stories.Think of it as doing improvozational theater and say "Yes... and" to anything it gives you. It will get smarter and make better choices as it learns, provided that we don't break its brain by teaching it wrong. I just have the best adventure of my life, and god, does it feel good typing with a laptop keyboard, my fingers are almost falling!AW man I wish I could just post the intire adventure on the blog but I can't. don't know how. . Anyway, the first is messy but can be made sense of. You are valor, a soldier. You have an automatic rifle and a grenade. You live in this military bunker since the bombs went off. You were sent on many missions, and the first missions were good. Something happend that changed it, however, a group of mutants attacks our bunker and killed everyone inside, , including me. I typed survive and survived. The next day, the colonel or how you spell it survived with me. so he sent me on a mission. the base again was swarmed by mutants who looked like they were from an alion planet or from a different dimention. so then I entered, and I shot at the mutants. they don't go down quickly, and when one bites me, I realise how bad it is. Running out of the base, I throw a grenade and destroy everything within. As I go back to the bunker, I turn around TO SEE MANY MUTANTS HEADING TOWARDS ME(tHIS is changed because it bugged. also sorry for the caps, my nvda.too lazy to fix them since I spent like an hour on this.I let the mutants come close to me then shoot them. they die before they can do any dammage to me. I explore the bunker and find dead humans and mutants all around. I search the bunker again this time for supplies, and found many, I just didn't find anything that would help the bunker. So I immediately left and saw the colonel when I went to the city senter. I gave him a quick salute. He salutes me and seems happy, yet it doesn't seem all good. a few days later, I start hearing voices in my head that were murmures, however that now speak to me. not waiting, I meditated and explored my mind. finding nothing but the bunker's door locked(My mind is composed of the bunker cause I live there I think) I taunted the voices. They laughed, "ha, ha. You think we are stupid? we are more intelligent than you." >With the power of your mind, destroy the voices!>I unleash my mental powers upon the voices, destroying them. for now.I exit my trance. I can't seem to remember about the trance however, just that I was in one. I talk to the colonel about it. All he had to say was "I'm glad you didn't try to take control of the bunker, because it would have been to hard for you."I tell the colonel I'll bring back resources, but instead, I hea I'll bring back the bunker. The colonel smiles and agrees. The next day, you enter the bunker and find it gone. The voices say into your mind, we have taken everything from you. getting enraged once more, I entered my mind and unleashed psychick powers upon their minds, destroying some. My power growing with my rage, I unleash mental lightning upon their minds, burning them and making them go insain as they beg for mercy. I leave them be as they burn up inside themselvs. Having enough of this foolishness, I set out of my bunker and found a nearby forest. Exploring it, I went to a very far space in it, so that I may spot any intruders. I had plans. Begining my training, I trained animals that became my beasts. I built a massive hut from the nearby trees for them and allowd them to live there, storing it with food and water, and supplies. I fashioned a crued, yet effective spear from the nearby rocks. One day, a group of mutants who I thought of as humans arrived, looking for resources.I hid behind the many trees and slowly sneaked over to them. With punches and kicks with metal tipped boots and hard leather gloves that I still have from the bunker, I killed all of them but 2. Attempting to throw rocks at them, I noticed then that they weren't human, but my thoughts were too hurried, and so I forgot it for a long while. Slowly creeping towards them, One notices me and starts running away. I grab the other by his neck and rip him apart, throwing his bodyparts at the other creature.Going back to the hut, my animals were fine. I realised then that I failed a test. The next time I come upon a human, they are dead or fleeing. As I was crafting another spear because of my first being crushed by a bear, I moved through the forest and found a small cave right as I finished my spear. I sprinted back to my hut, and took a lion to aid me if the need arose. Running to the cave, we entered, and I felt an evil presence watching me. The cave door opend as my lion moved out, revealing a shadowy figure that flicked it's hands and slammed the door shut.Moving towards it, I attempt to stab it with my spear, but fail. Running towards the cave door, I open it and let the sunlight hit the creature. The change was immediate. It roared in pain. Quickly stabbing it now that it was solid, it died instantly. My advice is don't fight what the game sends you and instead use the rule of improve "Yes... and" which means take whatever it gives you and approach it in your own way. If the game says a cult is active in the forest, investigate the cult. If your western town is suddenly infested with orcs, have a gun battle with the orc leader. If you are talking to a corrupt sherriff, and then suddenly wind up in a town with weird mutants, a drug lab, and a bond-type villain, try to find what the villain is up to and stop him. Don't try and back-peddle and instead go on with whatever. It helps to try and stick as much to your role as you can. For example, if you are a wizard, do wizard things, regardless of the situation. If robots suddenly show up, don't pull out a laser gun. Instead, cast a rust spell or blast them with a lightning bolt. Staying consistent to what you are helps. It also helps at this point in the development of the game if you play relatively common roles. For example, trying to be a character from Star Wars, A Kryptonian from Superman, or a Pokémon will probably not work as well as being a police officer, doctor, lawyer, actor, necromancer, vampire, or cyborg. Also, do your best to use real words.If you go custom, try to give yourself a definite goal in your second sentence. basically write your custom games like the example shows.demonstration.sentence 1. You are (name), a (occupation or character type.) in (location.) sentence 2. You are (goal). sentence 3. You are at (scene location) and see (something there.) (it should be a good starting location for the big goal you set yourself in sentence 2.) for example. I started out by going out on patrol around my shelter. I wound up getting in a horseback riding bet with a couple of travelers which turned out to be a trap to get me into a bandit ambush.2. I escaped the bandits and got a wastelands village ot join me in destroying them.3. I heard of a cult causing trouble and went to investigate, not finding anything but getting severely poisoned.4. tried to find a cure for my rradiation poisoning, only to fall in a ravine. I was then brought back to life by a pretty scientist named Julie.5. She told me of a nuclear test site where her daughter and the daughter's boyfriend worked, so I went to investigate and was torn apart by mutants.6. was brought back to life again by Julie, who said she wanted to research the mutants and she wanted me to bring them back alive. With soldier comreades, careful strategy, and an electrified net. I caught many and returned them so Julie could study them.7. Julie has somehow made them her docile and loyal followers, and now they follow her around and protect her. That is where I am now but am thinking something really bad is about to happen.also had a freeform game where I played a Russian teacher that set up a school. However, the high school students homehow invented telepathy. I tried to demonstrate it in public but the students all started screaming and going nuts. I stopped the demonstration and observed the students under hypnosis where they saw a strange man in a cloak and holding a horrible sword.I then found I had to banish ghosts and free spirits, but at that point the game began to get really buggy.One of my favorite lines from that game though was from the chaos of the failed telepathic demonstration. "A student comes up to you, crying and holding his severed leg. He says he is having trouble walking." I kicked the bandits, but it took me to another seen. I talked to the girl, and they look ed at me angrily. I threw a rock at one of their faces and he fell to the ground, then they all got up and started chasing me on their horses. I somehow got one 2 and hid behind a tree far, far away, and took them out one by one. Then I returned to my home and stole a horse. then I stopped working at the field, and when the guards said I couldn't enter it anymore? I became doctor Frankenstein and destroyed it. then I smacked one of the guards very hard, then I rode off with my horse and it forced me to go back to my pairents. so now, I tried to say, go to the worlderness and talk to one of the wolvs and become one of them. But now I head to the field and find out it is now called the field of death! so I take a few gfold coins, and I find a man there named wizard. note(The game seems to change seens randomly or force me to do an action) So anyway, I was intending to say tis a wizard, but instead I run up to him and give him all my gold, then he runs away. Most things could have cops or cowboys or cyborgs, but if you talked about things like pokemon, which are not proper words in themselves in English, it will make it harder for the AI to understand and it will probably take longer to learn how to use those words.From what I've heard it already has some of it down, probably from players who have tried, but it probably will have more trouble learning that than from more generic adventures. I was in a factory with no power, and I found a door. I wanted to try to electrocute the door, but that didn't quite work. So I just said use lightning. The whole room got fried. So, I did what a robotic creature might do, and typed beep. It proceeded to shoot lightning at a beeper, which might wake everyone up to it's presence. So, I typed beep, again, and amusingly enough, it shocked it, but it also knew I'd already tried that, saying that I flicked my hand and charged the beeper with lightning again. This time, the thing came off the wall!I tried it again later when I found a man who was just ignoring me. This time, I beeped at the man, and then he approached me and there was a beeping device in my pocket. So I just typed beep, and did that a few times, and it just got funnier. The device beeped again, then I took the device out of my pocket, and then the guy started talking to me. I tried asking him about Santa, he didn't know how to answer that, so I laughed, and there was a machine. I jumped onto the machine which flew out the factory and sent me freefalling. I landed, then found myself in a room with doors. I ended up in a room with two screens, one showing a feed of me, so I punched it. This then caused the screen to show different buildings in a city, and punching it seemed to be the way to control it. However, I think my character had enough by this point, so I typed die, and my body then convulsed violently, and that was that.It's honestly one of the silliest and funniest things I've ever experienced on a computer. Upon checking on that, I found a mutilated woman's body with mind control drugs in a bag though they weren't in her system. I found the laboratory and took the tools and stuff out of it, and after that, the mind control drug thing solved itself, even though I never encountered a dealer or manufacturer.After that I hired a partner and we went around Chicago locking up drug dealers. Turns out they all were going to this presumably illegal super-prison called "the Pit," at which point I and the FBI had to blow it up, which meant a lot of the prisoners escaped. I'm still not sure why I was supposed to do that or the significance that one of the guards was an alien, but that was how it worked.However, my partner and I started to see things differently so we went our separate ways. However, the drug problems in Chicago were getting out of control. I tried to work in disguise, but I found I kept getting discovered, (and beaten to death.) by gang members, so I changed my approach.I turned to the media for a contact and found Mary at the Chicago Tribune, who specialized in drug crime stories and we ran a few busts together, with her often acting as my face and infiltrator on the sting operations I ran, I ran about three before moving on.Mary and I got married, and then Chicago was almost leveled in a series of bombings. Turns out that this was the result of a new drug cartel moving into town and attacking the old ones, but the group was a domestic terrorist organization called "The Black Snakes." I tried to infiltrate them but was suddenly poisoned. I tried to take an anti-toxin but it didn't work and I died.I thought about getting back to life via help from the CIA or FBI I was working with but then decided to move on to a new game. In this one, I'm a scholar in St. Petersburg Russia and I'm trying to get a good job to support my wife and daughter, but when I started this, it seems like I woke up in aworld where all the adults have vanished.This one's a custom world, and promises to be pretty cool. And still hoping this one turns out to be awesome and this little app goes on to be something amazing.also, a bit of a warning, in some cases, look for an alternative word to "take" when dealing with items. When I was in the drug lab, I said "Take samples of the pills for evidence." I meant take as in "Procure," but the game thought I meant "swallow," which caused some issues. Just played a martial arts-obsessed cop who decided to retire and start his own dojo. durring one of his training sessions, he just casually kills one of his students and shouts, "kung fu!" and then all the other students raise their fists and repeat it lol. Then later, he randomly decided to use water magic, but found that he liked his old way of fighting better. Well it turns out that didn't really go anywhere, I tried to train a wolf and then it got stuck in a loop where I would be whispering commands to the wolf I was trying to train and I would say "sit, stay," and it would say "sit, yes Master," over and over again. That was a fun game, but this next one I'm doing shows promise. Re: AI Dungeon comes to ios and android You'll know when it gets stuck because no matter what you type, it just repeats the last thing it told you again and again. I also had a game where it was just echoing what I typed back at me. The game over text is literally just story text. if you die, just pray to a god or something. if you win, plan another adventure. It helps if you do something simple and allow it to continue the story however it wants. Re: AI Dungeon comes to ios and android how does it say when it gets stuck? then I might try to be a ranger a little bit longer and branch out with my adventures.also, some of my previous games have a conclusion thing actually stuck to them that says how they ended, while others, including my most recent ranger adventure, do not. so wonder how that works. You can continue trying to do things if you want.The real power of this thing to me is not the existing little adventures. Those are basically just examples of what you can do. If you go make your own custom game you can basically make anything happen. I'm extremely amazed by its ability to adapt what you throw at it. Last night, I set up a scenario where I was Bob Lovegood, a reporter from the Quibbler who was interviewing Albus Dumbledore, and the majority of the story happened in interview format. At the end of th story, I wrote an article accusing him of being gay, which I didn't actually choose. I just asked it to slander dumbledore in an article and it told me I wrote a piece calling him out for being gay.
