Re: Accessible boardgames?

I think that 64 Ounce Games do a few board games now. You should also check out the Braille Superstore, LS, MaxiAids and Independent Living Aids, though I think that the latter three probably do not have much in the way of board games as such.

Re: Accessible boardgames?

Oddly enough Crashmaster, there really aren't that many accessible actual board games, not inn terms of something monopoly style with dice and counters and different squares and what not. Jim Kitchin's game of life, snakes and ladders  and monopoly, Rs games monopoly, Quentin C playroom's monopoly and chess, pontes backgammon, Bg Chess and checkers, and of course jungle (aka chinese animal chess),  are all thatc come to mind. I did once see a beta version of an accessible risk game but I don't think development finished on that one. of course there are board games as part of other games, I'm thinking here particularly of Crazy party's board game battle and lords of the galaxy, and more of those sorts of mechanics would be cool.I'd love to see more games, particularly of the fantasy or tactical type, everything from hero quest to talisman or tokio battle. Then again, i believe Blindfold games just bought out a
snakes and ladders with added trivia questions so we might be seeing more which would be awesome.

Re: Accessible boardgames?

Hi dark and all.Your blindy organisation shop can help you with things.Loodo, peg chess, standard domonos, a few card games.Card packs for just about anything that uses them monopoly.Snakes and ladders and stuff like that. Now in some cases depending what they are, and what you do its possible to craft your own if you are good at it.FOr example I used to play ulsas which is a business form of monopoly a mod.I was able to craft most of it, cards used standard playing cards and tokens well.I havn't played the board for a long time. With the event of the computer, and mobile phones there are a lot of accessible games.True  the concept of a physical board is gone but there are ways to vertually play with a vertual board now days.

Re: Accessible boardgames?

Sadly thereisn't much I know by way of accessible board games. There are the traditional ones like Chess, Backgammon, monopoly and ludo, but not a lot else, and sadly this goes particularly for the big rash of complex tabletop board games (I'd love to play an accessible version of Talisman). However, on the plus side you can get a lot of accessible card games and dice, see http://www.store.64ouncegames.com/ I don't know if they've got anything boardgame wise as yet, but it's probably worth checking.
