If you have problems, set NVDA to not display symbols with insert P until it says no symbols. It also has a couple muds. I'm vath on there if you decide to check it out. It has userpers i think. There is a pretty cool game called the crossroads of elements on there, about elemental mages who can travel the elemental planes. It's quite big. There is a list of what is available on the website, but it is slightly outdated. If you need help with the games, please ask me. I played most of them. For those of you who may be unaware, a BBS was once the only way to connect to other computers around the world, long before the worldwide web and the rise of forums such as this one. The closest thing I can compare a BBS to is a MUD like ChatMUD, but with many more features including various boards similar to a web forum, a file archive similar to yahoo groups, many built-in games (known as doors, including Legend of the Red Dragon, a precursor to the modern Legend of the Green Dragon), etc. Most of them do use ASCII art, due to the limitations of either the dial-up connection or telnet API which were used to connect to them.
