It definitely makes things a bit more brutal. In online mode, it blocks the match if the game detects that p1 and p2 name are same. The error message should be translated, but there might be a bug. You may have a certain number of points to distribute amongst your stats or something. I could imagine this would lead to balance issues though.I noticed that if you become champion on the server, then attempt to battle yourself. It will let you up until you press start battle, then it gives an error in Japanese that I cant read.
