The only reason I'm keeping Skype around at this point is for the benefit of the one friend who finds sharing files easier through them, and the other friend I have a long-standing roleplay with that we can't move to discord because as yet, there's no way in-app to download the chat history.Discord is so much more organised than Skype ever was and I love everything about it except the 2000-character message limit, and even that I can work with. Then again, I don't normally code in java, not familiar with the code base, or have the time these days. I did look up a few of the neccessary Java libraries that would be necessary for implementing a depthmap filtered sonifier awhile ago though, wonder if you could hook in the NVDA controller client or tolk for TTS suport, which seems to have Java bindings. Re: Minecraft: accessibility, servers and mods Okay.One thing I wonder is if might be possible to mod in chat commands to display information on demand. it's not ideal, of course, but some of that stuff already seems to be there, like /position. It just needs to be passed to Narrator somehow. I'm reasonably familiar with Java, but haven't looked at the Minecraft API. I mean, you can download other peoples' worlds, so couldn't you just look at others' worlds in your version with all the mods, run about in their cities and get a general feel for it?Also, messing around is part of the fun of building stuff. And Creative mode gives you the chance to build without having mobs drop on you at inconvenient times. Sure, we can't build cities right out of the gate, but we can learn, and more importantly, have a lot of fun doing it.I'm listening to a particularly descriptive Minecraft guide on Youtube that's taught me a lot about what players often consider, and I'd definitely be taking tips from this guy if Minecraft was ever accessible enough for me to try playing.
