Re: My youtube commentary is terrible! How an accent sounds to each individual person is so subjective. Personally, I don't like it if someone is obviously trying too hard to sound different. It makes them sound as though they're acting, so, unless you need to star in a movie, don't bother. One of the ways you can best express authenticity is by speaking how you normally would do so. People will pick up on that, and will want to listen to you just for that alone, even if they don't say so. That's not to say that the content you cover doesn't matter, it certainly does, but everyone has a natural style, and straying too far from that will feel forced, which people can tell easily. Re: My youtube commentary is terrible! You've got some issues in your terminology. Goldwave is a single track editor, there is no concept of multi tracking when working in goldwave. That said, you can mix sounds together, but you have to get the volume just right. There is a voice over function which does some rudimentary side chaining for you though. i think you plop your bed down first and then get your voice, and use in the clipboard then use that dialog to configure it. I almost never use that though, but click on it and then help to figure out how it works. Still, I'd much rather use a proper multitrack editor for this. If you really want to get rid of it, there are ways that might or might not work for you, but I say that it's part of one's identity and carries notes of their culture wherever they go. It's definitely nothing to be ashamed about or to feel like it's hindering you. You speak pretty neutrally, having this British thing going on, but it's good. Now maybe you might try to get someone to improve their accent if it's so thick, you literally can't understand them, but that's not at all the case here.
