Re: Question to this comunity

Hi.I will try to address some points here and give my opinion.to post one, why people are doing these things even though the rules are a clear indicator on what is allowed and what is not, I guess age and mental age plays a large role here.I would suspect that quite a number of users is between the ages of 12 and 18, also a person aged 10 wouldn't be something I would be astonished about really, these days, 5 year old sometimes have their own smartphones which i find absurd , yeah, I'm 21 and I already feel old.anyway, people who are in the age group I described above often have the erge to try things out, see how far they can go, test their borders and limits so to speak. Possibly they have made the experience on other platforms which are not moderated or where moderation is only there in the extreme cases that they can cause trouble as much as they want, as long as they'll stay under the radar of the moderation staff which, with increasing moderation gets harder and harder.I think one of the platforms who caterlysed this was anyaudio when it was still around, because, and now be honest with yourself, there was almost no moderation there and almost everything was possible there, from simple jokes to parodies of people which sometimes went into teritorys I would describe as cyber bullying, but that's just my opinion. If you show childrens and teens these things and they don't yet have the ability to comprehend what's right and what's wrong and what their actions could eventually cause, you get yourself a major problem and kids testing out their limits, which is persay not a bad thing, if it happens in a controlled environment, at leased for the first few weeks? Months? Years? All depends on the person. Yes, I also was one of these person some 10 years ago, but through lecture from others and sometimes getting into scuffles helped me to understand what consequences could be.These days, this gets harder because, as I said, sometimes 5 year olds have smartphones and the internet is in everyones hands with smartphones, computers and what not, take this, ad the fact that most parents don't know much about what goes online and you get the situation which we now have. I won't go into the personal situation of those people, like how and where they were raised which also could affect how they approach things, but this would be overshooting the target by far.And before someone says it. Yes, not everyone in the age group I described is like that, there are those who grasp things faster, people shoudln't use the persons given age and compare it with their mental age.Shoot, and I just had 2 cups of coffee yet, this days gonna be productive.Greetings Moritz.

Re: Question to this comunity

Hi.I think the fact we can't talk about audio described movies and where to get them is silly so will always respond if someone hasn't already with audiovault and if that gets me band, so be it.I'd rather be band and have someone smiling and enjoying movies than sit there and say nothing. I know what it's like to feel sad and alone and movies can help with that.

Re: Question to this comunity

Protesting simply because no one else is and it has to be done really isn't a very good reason for protesting, in my opinion.

Yeah @3. Some people just have different morals. I also guess age doesn't determine wisdom. I'm younger than all of them, but i don't do it. @3, hats off to you for summing it up so nicely.

Re: Question to this comunity

For the most part I agree with Musicalman, But I still side with Liam about the fact that no one (requires) a game.  This is a generation of instant gratification, where high quality media is so easy to find that it all blends into one stream and becomes almost like a data addiction.  We, my self included, would rather drown our problems in fantasy worlds than face reality, though that is nothing new.Access or required business software like a screen reader, braille transcriber, advanced word processor, or document scanner? Sure! as long as there is no good free alternative or you can't get an organization to buy it for you...  You don't always need what everyone else has, and not trying alternatives is just lazy when you have the time. But not a game.  Games are just fancy toys, and though some can tell epic stories and make you think and feel new things, that's not most audio games, and you can always watch letsplays and play demos if they are available, which will give you the story if not the full experience.Movies and TV shows and fiction books are a bit more complicated, because they can enrich you as a person and help your imagination to grow as a child especially.  But in the end all you truly need is educational material in my opinion.  And Youtube, fan fiction sites, short story hosting platforms, and web series are all available for free and some are extremely good.People would rather wine about what shiny things they can't have than actually search for alternatives.  Hell I know what it feels like to not be playing or watching what everyone else is, but you know what?  Tuff shit, you'll survive.

Re: Question to this comunity

I do agree with musicalman their. There is always people with different morals, opinions, etc. We can try to tell them to not do it but we cannot force them. Like for cracks, some people think that they shouldn't be made as by doing that we are showing that we don't care about the developer's efforts but on the other hands, some people think that this isn't totaly wrong. They are helping the people who are not able to buy that software but require them. I do not understand how this topic is gonna help much. Essentially, you are just telling the people what they have beeen told before.

Re: Question to this comunity

With the utmost respect I don't see how this topic is going to help the situation. Yes, it would be nice if people could, ya know, just, get along! And have common sense! But what I have come to realize is that common sense isn't always so common. Common etiquette isn't so common. We all have our own ways of, for lack of a better term, dealing with things. We all have our own values, morals, and reasons for doing what we do. The moderators are supposed to be acting in the best interest of the community as a whole, but there is no way to magically make everyone come to the same mutual understanding of what is in the community's best interests. We all have different visions. NO matter how much shouting we do at the kids to grow up. No matter how many times we tell them to read the rules. No matter how many times we try to settle that difference in opinion or attitude. We'll always have these problems. We're all different, and at some point, we all just need to accept that and deal as best we can. Dealing with differences is an ongoing process. Dealing with outliers who think it's okay to crack is an ongoing process. There's no stopping it, no matter how many spikes we try to put at the end of that big ban hammer. Lol
