Re: The Great Toy Robbery is getting a major Update I can't currently get the latest update patch that fixes the error (but I was able to get the initial v2 release), but guess what's happening? AVG's web shield blocks the new patch there's no way to add exceptions with web shield which is really rubbish. I managed to get version 2 itself running by installing it to a different directory other than program files, because each time I tried the default directory the absolutely nuts AVG just blocked it as quickly as Evil Santa.I've submitted the tgtr exe file to AVG as a false positive, and if they verify that, I will then submit the download URL. In the meantime I won't be able to get the miner patch, and even if that's verified I might have to re-verify the miner patch's exe file anyway. Can't believe this is happening again, it's not happened for ages. Re: The Great Toy Robbery is getting a major Update Indeed, I definitely think based on the audio demo that 2.0 is greatly improved already, was giving 1.3 a shot to strategize a bit. Of course I've tried to mess around on a playthrough where instead of collecting as many toys as possible, I purposefully waited for as many elves and let them chace me round the map for as long as possible and my gosh when you've got five of them on your tail, it's quite exciting to see if you can survive a while. I once had an elf on the left and two on my right and had to end up weaving through them, only to get trapped near the corner of the map, tried to continue walking, and... bonk! One idea is that he could be chasing you while you're collecting toys, and elves could show up too, with the game becoming more and more difficult somehow until someone gets you. Re: The Great Toy Robbery is getting a major Update As far as I know there's nothing keeping anyone from keeping and continuing to play the old version after the new version comes out, with the possible exception of scoreboard posting, assuming Liam kills the old scoreboard server. If so, what happens when score posting is attempted depends entirely on how graceful the old version is about handling unexpected failures. If he still has the source code, if he wanted he could obviously release a new version of the old version (confused yet?) which is the same as the old version in every way except that scoreboard posting functionality has been ripped out.All of this applies to the BGT version, I have no experience with the really old version. It has a nice amount of bass that the old splat lacked. I don't notice an appreciable difference in any lag, but I haven't exactly tested too hard for that.It's true the achievements don't unlock anything, but it's a free title, so they're more of just something to do if one is bored or likes to collect things. There's also another Santa mode that is unlocked if one collects all seven keys, and that one is a doozy.
