Re: Urgent: Help with blackboard needed Hi, in the BB collaborate, you can read msgs just fine but cllicking on next and previous msgs at first you can reach those buttons without turning of the focus mode from the chat box, afterwards each msg you can read using brows mode. automatic reading as well works fine as long as you are not in the chat box, using firefox that is. and leatest nvda. as for the edit box last time I checked it worked fine with me, although it kicked me out of it twice but third time just worked because I was trying to access the attack option not the edit box, but it kept taking me to the edit box. last time I used was last tuesday. I am not sure though if our version is the same with everyone else.good luck. If our uni uses blackboard, then we have to use it.Blackboard overall is accessible though, that's the only problem I have with it.@9:Oh yeah, BB collaborate does the job, but it's not the best. Good luck using it on safari though. I mean it works, but most of the time it doesn't read chat messages. It goes like: "New chat message from..." and it stops.It rarely reads the actual message for me.In chrome the chatting experience just a bit better. NVDA is able to read the incoming messages as long as you're in any other tap other than the conversation tab.But regardless, viewing the messages if you missed them is a pain. You can only see the latest one. It really sucks. Re: Urgent: Help with blackboard needed The frustrating thing is everything else in Blackboard is working great! It even allows you to download documents in alternative formats, like brf. I've never tested the brf translations because I don't have a braille display anymore but the fact that all of that's there is pretty awesome.BB collaborate is a horrible piece of trash though. zoom is lightyears ahead of it in terms of accessibility. Re: Urgent: Help with blackboard needed Hi.I think, more work needs to be done in labeling and stuff so that we can interact with the blackboard properly, I haven't used the blackboard that much, but did used white board, which is not accessible at all. How ever, I tried jamboard, works great, we are able to put sticky notes at least.Also, I haven't checked if the board works with NVDA V 20.2, I am having poor network so cannot update it right now. Even though, I still needed a sighted person to confirm for me that the text has been pasted successfully.@4:The problem is that I'm not confident about trying firefox, I use chrome all the time. I mean trying firefox will cost me an attempt.Professors can give extra time or attempts if needed so that's good at least.Is there a text editing area in blackboard I can at least experiment with? I haven't scene any, other than the one in the exams with subjective questions.I swear this editor was working just fine with nvda and chrome last semester and I just don't know what exactly change for it to stop working. Re: Urgent: Help with blackboard needed Try with both firefox and chrome, at some point it worked better with the one than with the other but can't remember which way around. But like others have said, typing it somewhere else and pasting it in is probably your best bet, that's what I used to do. Don't know if you have a time limit, but I used to get them to give me extra time in case of issues like that. Didn't always happen but might be worth a shot. That should be where you paste your question. Re: Urgent: Help with blackboard needed I have the exact same issue on my univercity Elearning web. and yes, it was working fine. something wrong with that aplication rich text thing or NVDA itself.the only work around I could think is to write down things with ms word or notepad, and paste it into the box, to ensure it's there or not, try to ocr.
