Even though he didn't us teh full name of the original and never tried, made a near completely different story and had (slightly similar) mechanics but overall different at the same time, he might've done everything to stay in the clear. Redoing Brainstation would not be possible without permission, because Liam ultimately still owns the idea, the outline, and the assets belong to either him, their respective owners or the libraries they came from. If he wanted to sell it he would have to either clear that with the creators he can get in contact with/make sure all the sounds used are mix-ready and none are pure originals from their respective libraries, or just sell the code only. This, incidentally, was the problem Dan Zingaro ran into as far as open-sourcing bsc stuff was concerned, since he ultimately couldn't release the assets along with the game. Most of those licenses are non-transferrable since there's no real way to forfeit drm-free digital content in order to transfer usage right s anyhow.It would actually be interesting to have a Quorum-made brainstation considering it would serve the demographic well, but the decision ultimately remains up to Liam as to what he does or doesn't want to do with the projects. Re: Where is brain station? As someone who has done business with people on here, I strongly advise Liam that he not sell the game out, but at the end of the day that is his decision to make. If someone truly thinks they have the brainpower to make something similar to brainstation, they can code it themselves. It is coded in a language that will never receive updates so you may as well get to work on a python build or even use quorum if you want to. I am curious though...since Liam publicly said he is not supporting it is it against the rules to redo it? Mason did it with TH... right? Please correct me if I'm wrong here. At around the same time, The Great Toy Robbery got remade in Python making it cross-platform.
