Re: Which streaming device is better?

using the remote is so much better then using your phone for control. I only used my phone to select channels on the homescreen and or changing a few settings on the tv I have.

Re: Which streaming device is better?

My only problem with my fire stick is the AT TV app. It is not accessible, at all. I don't know how to leave feedback. Contrary to what Amazon has published, the iPhone app can manipulate the controls while Voice View is active.

Re: Which streaming device is better?

The Fire TV app for YouTube is accessible (with the acception of the Sign In screen). That is, unless you cast your YouTube app to the TV, then ya can log in via external keyboard and/or the on-screen one. Same goes with casting YouTue to the Roku televison.BTW, accessibil...@roku.com, is your address for sending feedback.PS. I should note also, that the @Denverqueen and myself have both echo and google Home/Nest devices in our place (along with a Google Chromecast which doesn't get used as much as it use to.)

Re: Which streaming device is better?

Hi,I’ve had a firestick for a few years, However about a month back I went out and picked up an apple TV. From an accessibility standpoint they are leagues apart. Although they both offered access to the streaming services I use   (mainly Netflix) through TTS, the overall end experience is just so much smoother on the apple device. Again, don’t get me wrong the firestick did what I needed, but the speech wasn’t as great, it wasn’t so responsive , text would keep reading sometimes when I moved to a new item. I think comparing the two, based purely on accessibility I’d say apple is the better of the two by far, but again this isn’t so much down to extra accessibility, just a better smoother end experience. As far as content goes I only use a few streaming services  and these are supported on both the apple TV and fire stick via TTS, but I don’t think  there is much difference in actual content (I think on some non-apple smart devices you can even get the apple TV plus app if you have a subscription to the service). I appreciate the apple TV is considerably more expensive than a Firestick (with an apple TV starting from about £150 compared with the  starting price for a fire stick being around £30). There’s a rumour  that apple will launch a new apple TV model this year (possibly this month) that may be at a cheaper price bracket to try and gain more of a dominance in the streaming device market, although this is probably more to gain a bigger audience to their new apple TV plus  subscription service. , but that’s just a rumour and we all know apple are known for pricier tech so it may stay around the same price point, still if you do decide to go for the apple TV it’s probably worth waiting to see if they do launch a new cheaper model, even if not it should drive the older models price down if you don’t mind a slightly older device.Paul

Re: Which streaming device is better?

I will always prefer my apple tv to anything. I think it has the best accessibility and the most understandable voice. That being said, I do have several roku TV's, and they work well enough. There are some channels that are completely unusable, such as youtube, that just has no speech. Also, the roku voice is inferior to any of the others I have tried, but the system works well enough.
