I don't remember if the same applies to soothing song, but generally I found that one to be way more effective because it wasn't resisted as often.I do remember saving up scrolls for bosses, so if I recall correctly, scrolls like web, paralyze and confusion did work. I love it! hahaI advise you to get the best weapons and armor you can for your party members, also get some potions and scrolls, level up all types of skills constantly, or Focus on your favourite. Slashing damage weapons are not so great for the drake, so i recommend axes and hammers. The large ones probably would be better. Also consider coming back for the drake. You are only level 5, you need to do some quests, kill the goblin king, honestly. You need to get better before you do such a think. I really would think so.
