Re: Signature Discussion I've had this signature for many years, and I don't see myself changing it any time soon.Basically, the story is that I was thinking one day about phrases that I don't like, or that don't make much sense. I was focusing on why a glass which is half empty or full should have any connotations of positivity or negativity, seeing as how, no matter how you look at it, it's still physically holding half the contents it's able to. That, combined with my general dislike for cheesy feel-good phrases which are a lot of hot air, lead me to first write my signature in my profile on the Zone BBS, in the space where a quote went. For some reason, it stuck, and soon after, I used it as my signature on this forum as well. Signature Discussion I've seen lots of scenarios where topics would be derailed by someone who wanted to talk about someone's signature. Sometimes the signature would have nothing to do with the topic at all, and sometimes this would be used as an excuse to debunk someone's points. I haven't seen that all the time, but it has happened a fair number of times I'd say.This topic is where you guys can discuss each other's signatures. This way we can avoid derailing other topics while having a good discussion at the same time. This is my current signature.I don't mind if you disagree with my opinions, but if you're going to dismiss something I say, please explain why you don't agree with me. You don't have to, but it helps me understand you better. I don't like when I write out my thoughts about something and try to make people understand my opinions, only to be told I'm wrong and not be told why someone thinks that. This has happened to me a good number of times. I'd bring up a point about something and take the time to write out my reasons for thinking the way I do, and someone comes along and says "No" or "I think you're wrong". This is a huge pet peeve of mine. I took the time to write a lengthy post outlining my thoughts. If you don't want to explain your thoughts to me about why you think I'm wrong that's perfectly fine, but in that case just don't say anything. One/two worded posts for the soul purpose of telling me I'm wrong is no way to get me to see that I'm wrong about something, and it's definitely not going to get me to change my mind.I had an old signature in Dutch talking about how the most important function on all electronics is the exit button. I had a Dutch signature because everyone at the time had a signature in a different language, so I figured why the hell not?Alright, your turn. I can't remember anymore of mine.
