Re: Some Questions about 2D Fighters Your character always faces the opponent. When holding back your character walks backward while blocking. Holding down+back causes your character to crouch and block. Your character will always turn and face the opponent unless they are doing a move. If Ryu does a hurricane kick and the opponent jumps over it, he will not turn around until the move finishes. This also means that you must hold the other direction to continue blocking if the opponent jumps over you while you're blocking. As for charge moves, it's about 2 seconds or a bit less. There's no indication of when you're charged, so it's a matter of practice. As for controls, either D-pad or arcade stick, your choice. The analog stick is not really used in fighting games as it doesn't give enough tactile feedback. Some Questions about 2D Fighters
Some Questions about 2D Fighters Hello,I've been playing fighting games for a little while now, and while I'm doing relatively well, I could be doing a lot better. I'm hoping that these basic (or at least what I think as basic) questions can be answered, but these questions may be too visual. Question 1. Am I always facing my opponent? For example, in Super Street Fighter 4, if my opponent was on the right side of the screen, and I am on the left, and if I clicked left, would I turn around, or would I block?2. Blocking. It's been difficult for me to know if I am successfuly blocking attacks in games like Marvel vs. Capcom infinite and super street fighter 4. Am i correct in assuming that holding away from the ofponent blocks? 3. Charge characters. How long do I need to hold back or down when prepping an attack like a Sonic Boom or Kikoken?Last question: I've had issues inputting my inputs, and I'm considering moving to an arcade stick. Is it worth the switch, or should I stick with the D-Pad or analog stick? Thanks for your answers!
