Yes, they were aiming more towards the market predicted here in this topic instead of the blind. LOL. I should had known. I installed zoom on my IOS device yesterday, and this morning, it was as easy as double tapping the link they sent me. Of course, I followed the prompts of it asking me to allow it access to the microphone and rather or not I wanted notifications. The chat window was easy enough for me to access. I was using this app on a IPad. It did not ask me for my name and or screen name. I am guessing that the link had enough for it to have my name already. Re: Some zoom questions. Zoom is awesome! If you just want to join meetings, activate the invite link someone sends you. This will automatically download and install the Zoom client on your device. From there, it will ask for your name and then you're in.Zoom can be used with audio only. Either turn your video off or select the option in the video settings to disable your camera when joining a meeting.I recommend checking out this audiobook on Zoom. Re: Some zoom questions. If you download the program, you need the call I'd number, I believe it is 9 didgets. You hit join, then enter those 9 fidgets, and you can personalize your name, then hit join call. From there, you can choose to join via audio or video, and that describes the mobile experience using zoom. Have not tried just using a browser before or running it on pc in general, but whatever the case, either the 9 widget number for calling in with zoom, or a link to the call are necessary to join. My singing teacher wants to give lessons via zoom, I however heard somewhere that access is a bit weird. if the USB microphone is otherwise working, what would roughly be the process of logging into a call and speaking through audio?IE, would I need to download the program, and would there be a way testing whether the mike was in working order? Re: Some zoom questions. It is possible to log into a zoom conference call without installing zoom if you use your browser. Zoom itself works fine on my android phone. Hardest thing was finding the chat button, but recent updates have solved the issue. It is also possible to call in with audio only if you wish. Re: Some zoom questions. I have used Zoom for some stuff with my lions club, and we only used video for screen sharing. Everyone there was using audio, so Zoom can do audio as well. The presenter was the only one using video. Using a Windows computer plugged in to an ethernet cable works the best for me. In addition to using Zoom it can i.e. stream to Youtube for archiving etc. You have probably seen Zoom-produced content without knowing it was Zoom.Also, you're not the target audience. Humanware doesn't sell to blind people. Humanware sells to agencies that give stuff to blind people, i.e. schools, and for that reason I fully expect most people on any webinar they run are going to be sighted.There is also no good audio-only option for this stuff anyway. Hi.What m e and other blind people noticed with zoom is that when you click on join a call, what might happen is that you get the message that the connection is beeing established but nothing after that, internet access was good at the time, so it couldn't have been a network connectio issue.greetings Moritz. Some zoom questions. I am thinking on joining the Humanware Webinar thing tomorrow. It will be my first time on zoom. First of all, will I need to create some kind of account on zoom beforehand, or will clicking on the link that I got via email be enough? Would joining via IOS be better than windows? I just do not really want to install zoom on my desktop at this time. It just that I want easy removal if I wish to remove it later.
